I tweaked the Beertastic site a bit last night, and I must say I am very happy about the results. Overall, I think my web-design (although non standards compliant and hack-y in parts) is become much more refined. This small redub, the homebrew blog and the blog your reading’s redub have much cleaner, refined looks compared to my earlier work.

I picked up a six pack on the way home from work today. Beertastic review pending. Many many amazing (omg Plunket tour) memories with this one; I think I can safely say that PBR is my favorite American Adjunct Lager. Don’t know what that means? Adjunct lagers are lightly hopped/malted ’simple’ lagers made by large brewers using other grains such as rice and corn (adjuncts!) to feed the yeast. Light on taste? Yes. On price? No; I mean…$5 for a sixer. That’s a great beer to dollar ratio.

Listened to this in the car with Jim yesterday. This is my favorite track on the disk, love the video. Jury is still out on the rest of the cd; lots of abstraction in this one, not as many guttural, satisfying breakdowns. I need a few more listens to decide.

It really hurts.

Why am I drinking jug-wine? Well, in addition to standard 5-gallon homebrew batches I am planning to have smaller, wilder ~1-gallon brews in the pipe bottle-line. While I already plan to be doing big, badass American Ales (Americaaaaa, fuck yeahhhhh) it makes sense financially and dump-risk-wise to attempt some of my crazy ideas at the small scale first.

Another plus, is that these batches may be more fiancee-friendly aka I may be able to brew them in the apartment versus at the ‘rents or elsewhere. *crossed fingers*
