当信徒属灵的生命患了病，也即灵里有各种各样污秽混杂，一切便与以前都不同了。他们只会注意世上那些可憎的事物和那些可憎的人。不再思想神的大爱，也忘记了神的恩情。他们或许专门挑别人的错处，怀疑别人，猜忌别人，批评别人，恨恶别人。处好的境遇并不感恩，稍遇一点拂逆的事便怨天尤人。总是积愤难消，满腹牢骚。口中不断的短叹长吁，怜自己，恨别人。不想到神如何赦免他们的罪孽，也不肯饶恕那些亏欠的。不记念神所施的大爱，也不肯爱那些邻舍。从此所住的世界似乎只有黑夜，没有白昼，只有幽暗，没有光明，只有苦痛，没有幸福，只有灾祸，没有平安。

一天，小李带着家人到一家西餐厅用餐。餐厅生意很不错，客人顶多，菜出得慢。大家开始用餐时，小李点的套餐还没送上来。小李向女招待询问，才发现是厨师的疏忽，女招待很不好意思地说了一声对不起，答应做好马上端上来。

不久，老板娘亲自来抱歉，说厨师刚把主菜放下去，还要等二十分钟，问能不能等一下，或者要退掉。小李答道：没关系，我知道你们今天忙，难免会慢些，我等一下好了。老板娘连声道歉离开。

后来，女招待给孩子们送来，原先没点的水果甜点。结账时，小李惊讶地问是否算错账，老板娘在旁解释道：因为你的谅解，所以给你打八折，也免费招待小孩吃水果甜点。

朋友，当你遇到类似以上的情形，你是以什么态度来回应呢？是生气责备他人的过失，或是以宽容的心，客气待人呢？圣经里告诉我们神的属性：但你是乐意饶恕人、有恩典、有怜悯、不轻易发怒、有丰盛慈爱的神，并不丢弃他们。(尼 9:17)

朋友，生活中有许多事情会牵引我们的怒气，但愿我们学习上帝的样式，乐意饶恕人，不轻易发怒，让上帝的慈爱时常充满我们心。让我们一起祷告，慈爱的天父，生活中太多的负累使我心里烦躁，许多小事情都会引起我情绪失控，求神赦免我的罪。求神赐给我一颗感恩的心，为现有的生活献上感恩。求主帮助软弱贫穷的我，因着您十字架上的救恩，使我成为刚强富足。我愿一生爱主，事奉主，奉主耶稣基督的名祷告，阿门。

The Fire / 火警

A couple, whom we shall call John and Mary, had a nice home and two lovely children, a boy and a girl. John had a good job and had just been asked to go on a business trip to another city and would be gone for several days. It was decided that Mary needed an outing and would go along too. They hired a reliable woman to care for the children and made the trip, returning home a little earlier than they had planned.

As they drove into their home town feeling glad to be back, they noticed smoke, and they went off their usual route to see what it was. They found a home in flames. Mary said, "Oh well it isn't our fire, let's go home."

But John drove closer and exclaimed, "That home belongs to Fred Jones who works at the plant. He wouldn't be off work yet, maybe there is something we could do." "It has nothing to do with us." Protested Mary. "You have your good clothes on lets not get any closer."

But John drove up and stopped and they were both horror stricken to see the whole house in flames. A woman on the lawn was in hysterics screaming, "The children! Get the children!" John grabbed her by the shoulder saying, "Get a hold of yourself and tell us where the children are!" "In the basement," sobbed the woman, "down the hall and to the left."

In spite of Mary's protests John grabbed the water hose and soaked his clothes, put his wet handkerchief on his head and bolted for the basement which was full of smoke and scorching hot. He found the door and grabbed two children, holding one under each arm like the football player he was. As he left he could hear some more whimpering. He delivered the two badly frightened and nearly suffocated children into waiting arms and filled his lungs with fresh air and started back asking how many more children were down there. They told him two more and Mary grabbed his arm and screamed, "John! Don't go back! It's suicide! That house will cave in any second!"

But he shook her off and went back by feeling his way down the smoke filled hallway and into the room. It seemed an eternity before he found both children and started back. They were all three coughing and he stooped low to get what available air he could. As he stumbled up the endless steps the thought went through his mind that there was something strangely familiar about the little bodies clinging to him, and at last when they came out into the sunlight and fresh air, he found that he had just rescued his own children.

The baby-sitter had left them at this home while she did some shopping.

约翰和玛丽是一对幸福美满的夫妇，他们育有一男一女。约翰的公司最近派他到外地出差几天，约翰想到好久没带玛丽出外旅游，趁这机会带她一起出去走走也好。因此他们请了一位褓姆照顾孩子，就一起到外地去了。办完事后游览了几天，玛丽不放心孩子，归心似箭，他们便决定提早回去。

车子驶近他们居住的小镇时，感觉回到家真好。忽然，闻到一股浓厚的烟味，他们便改道而行，想去看看究竟发生什么事。驶近一看，有一栋房子失火了，玛丽说：「还好不是我们家，我们赶快回去吧！」

但约翰将车子继续往失火现场驶近，说：「这房子不是弗雷德的家吗？糟了，他白天都在工厂工作，现在还未下班，也许我们可以帮什么忙。」「我们帮不上忙的，」玛丽拉拉他：「你一身西装笔挺，千万不要靠近火窟啊！」

约翰还是自顾驾车，到了现场，惊见那房子整栋都着火了，一位女士在院子里歇斯底里地喊着：「快来救救小孩子啊！」约翰拉住她说：「镇定一点，快告诉我孩子们在那一间房间？」那女士说：「在地下室，从走廊下去左边那间。」

不管玛丽的劝阻，约翰拿起水管来，将自己的衣服淋湿，用湿的手帕盖在头上，就冲进浓烟弥漫、火炎熊熊的地下室。他找到了门把，抓起了两个孩子，一手抱一个，赶紧离开火窟。

正离去时，似乎还听见一缕微弱的声音....他将两个惊吓万分，几乎窒息的孩子带到安全地方，交在大人手里，自己大大吸一口新鲜空气，又询问门口人群：「还有没有小孩留在地下室啊？」他们告诉他，还有两个。玛丽紧紧抓住他，大叫：「约翰，不要再进去了，你会没命的，这房子随时会塌下来。」

但他不顾一切，跑进烟雾弥漫的走廊，下到地下室，好不容易找到了那两个孩子，赶紧将他们抱起来。三人都不断地咳嗽，他只好弯下身以便尽量吸入微薄的新鲜空气。当约翰蹒跚地爬上似乎永无止境的阶梯时，他突然有一种奇怪的直觉，紧贴他身上两个孩子的体味似曾相识。终于逃出了火场，来到有阳光和新鲜空气的地方，他才发现他所救的原来竟是自己的孩子。

原来，他们的褓姆临时必须出去购物，将这两个孩子暂时寄托在这个朋友的家里。

神能将各样的恩惠，多多的加给你们。使你们凡事常常充足，能多行各样善事。我们感谢神，神所赐的恩惠福气，不只是外表看得见，更是我们心灵常享的安宁喜乐。让我们用口极力称谢耶和华，在众人中间赞美他，因为他站在穷乏人的右边，救我们脱离审判和苦难。

主耶稣啊，您是我主我神，我要尊崇您，顺服您。感谢主在十字架上的救恩，使我能以神的眼光来评估自己，看自己合乎中道，不看自己过于所当看的，也不致在人前自卑。求神饶恕我表里不一致，言行不一致的过犯，帮助我活出圣经的教导，是就说是，不是就说不是，免得落在审判之下。求主教导我如何面对失败，毁谤，欺诈，靠主恩典坚守真理，得胜有余。我要每早晨，以笑容感恩来称颂主，因为那带种流泪出去的，必要欢乐地带禾捆回来，奉我主耶稣基督的名祷告，阿门。

凝结出一粒珍珠

据英国《每日电讯报》8月17日报道，食人部落为吃掉卫理公会教士道歉。巴布亚新几内亚的一个部落，为祖先百余年前吃掉卫理公会的传教士道歉。1878年，四名来自斐济的传教士到新不列颠岛传教，在那里，他们被当地部落的人杀害烹食。

历史上，早期的宣教士常冒着生命的危险，为主殉教。传说有一对英国基督徒夫妇对他们的教会说：只要你们肯支持我们，为我们祷告，我们为着福音的缘故，愿意去非洲，冒生命的危险传福音；只要你们以祷告来托住我们。

两年后，宣教士的太太与孩子都得了重病，死在非洲，他自己也病得很重，知道在世的年日无多，在没有通知家人与教会的情况下，他回到英国。那晚正是教会的祷告会，宣教士坐在最后排，没人注意的地方；整个祷告会所有的祷告，都是为本地教会和信徒的需要代祷，没有一人为他们祷告。当祷告会结束后，他站起来很感慨地对会众说：我们今天落到这种地步，乃是因为你们没有以祷告来托住我们。

朋友，你有什么感想呢？如果你是一个蚌，你愿意受尽一生痛苦，凝结出一粒珍珠（领人信主）呢？还是不要珍珠，宁愿舒舒服服地活着？朋友，但愿我们都拥有成为基督精兵的心志，无论得时不得时，勇敢地见证救主基督。我们邀请你常为你知道的牧师、宣教士、传道人代祷，因为他们乃是在前线与魔鬼争战的勇士，面对许多挑战、逼迫和危险。
