			<link>http://www.affinityav.com/index.php?option=com_content&amp;task=view&amp;id=102&amp;Itemid=103</link>
			<description>

Capstone Management (http://www.capstonemanagment.net) . The campaign includes a &amp;ldquo;treasure card&amp;rdquo; that includes a scrambled secret message and an web address for the geocacher to visit. The address takes them to a micro-site owned by Capstone Management that offers an old fashioned secret message decoder scheme. The geocacher decodes the message and submits it to a form field. If correct the geocacher is presented with an award related to 2 hotels that Capstone manages in Dixon, Illinois and a form for them to fill out to claim their prize.

KPBS (http://www.kpbs.org/) radio transmitter, the NPR affiliate had to get creative in broadcasting critical fire updates and evacuation notices. They were able to redirect their feed to a local commercial radio transmitter and they turned to the web. Instead of just streaming their audio feed over the internet they also turned to Google Maps (http://www.google.com/maps) to map what information they had.

			<title>51% of Adult Americans have taken Virtual Tours on the Internet</title>
			<link>http://www.affinityav.com/index.php?option=com_content&amp;task=view&amp;id=99&amp;Itemid=103</link>
			<description>
I ran across this study (http://www.pewinternet.org/PPF/r/195/report_display.asp) from the Pew Internet American Life Project (http://www.pewinternet.org) . Being that we create virtual tours for our clients I thought I'd share.

As of August 2006, just over half of American adult internet users (51%) have taken virtual tours of another location online, up from 45% in a previous Pew Internet American Life Project survey in November 2004.

			<title>WI-FI Hotspot usage is way up, pushed by business travelers.</title>
			<link>http://www.affinityav.com/index.php?option=com_content&amp;task=view&amp;id=98&amp;Itemid=103</link>
			<description>
A new study (http://www.ipass.com/pressroom/pressroom_wifi.html) just released by ipass.com (http://www.ipass.com) shows that WI-FI hotspot usage for the first half of 2007 is up 109% in North America compared to the first half of 2006. Hotspot usage by business users jumped 68 percent between the first
half of 2007 and the second half of 2006, versus 44 percent in the six
months previous, and airports topped the list of venues where business
travelers connect. These findings reinforce the attractiveness of Wi-Fi
hotspots as a primary access option for workers on-the-go.

Ok, I know there hasn't been a lot of posts on this blog. We've been been very busy developing websites for our clients. I don't want to just post funny things I come across like so many blogs do; but I just can't resist posting this even though it has NOTHING to do with web dev. or new media. For those of you living outside the Midwest who are wondering what us country folk do on the weekend, I have your answer. Aerial Bow Fishing!

Every now and then I have a client ask me What is copywriting? .

Simply put: Copywriting is the art of writing sales and marketing related materials.

This morning I ran across an email advert that is a brash, bold and very funny example.

 Luxurious almost to the point of eroticism, this shirt adorns the wearer in an invisible cloak of certain potency.

Wow! all that in a shirt for $49.95!

Gotta get me some DespairWear (http://despair.com/logoshirts.html) .
