Top 10 Seminars for May 2009

As a new feature on SeminarInformation.com, we've decided to put some of our wealth of data about the seminar industry to use to present some of the trends in the seminar and training marketplace. For our first installment, we've compiled a list of the top 10 seminars for May 2009, as measured by unique visitors to the online seminar brochures:

How to Become a Better Communicator

Dealing with Difficult People

Outpatient Therapy CPT Coding, Billing and Documentation for Rehabilitation Reimbursement

Managing Multiple Projects, Objectives and Deadlines

Essential Time Management & Organization Skills

Electrical Ladder Diagrams, Schematics & Drawings

How to Communicate with Tact and Professionalism

Managing Emotions Under Pressure

OSHA 2009 Compliance and Training for Medical and Dental

Financial Statement Analysis

Along with the always popular seminars on management and workplace conflict, we're seeing some decent growth in interest for medical and financial seminars, probably not surprising given the consistent growth in the healthcare field but tough economy for most other sectors.

Welcome to 2009!

Can you believe it's 2009 already - where did 2008 go?

We at SeminarInformation.com want to thank all of you who used our website over the past year to register for training programs.

We are continually updating the website with new seminars, dates and locations so check back often if you can't find the exact date or location you need - it may be scheduled for later in the year.

We diligently update and edit the brochures for each class so that you get the most current course content and where available instructor information.

We've tried to make our site as user-friendly as possible. For example, this year we've added a zip code search so if a particular course is not coming to your town you can search nearby to see if it might be presented within driving distance or in some city you are planning to visit.

We are here to assist you if you want to bring a seminar to a location of your choice for a larger group of attendees. We will gladly act as liaison and negotiate with the seminar sponsor to assure that you get the best possible pricing and scheduling for the seminar.

It's important to us that your seminar search is as easy as possible. We are always looking for ways to make search simple and welcome any suggestions you may have. Feel free to email me at mona@seminarinformation.com.

We hope you'll come back in 2009 when you need training - and remember we are here to answer any questions you may have or make recommendations.

27 Years Later

As we begin our 27th year in business we'd like to take a minute to thank all of those people who have helped us along the way. When we started out in 1981 with a blue loose-leaf binder listing 1900 seminars, who would have thought we'd develop into the largest database of seminars and conferences on the Internet with over 360,000 seminars and conferences listed.

To all of you who have used our service and have stuck with us through SIS WORKBOOK, SIS CD and now SeminarInformation.com - we thank you and hope we've made your very important job of training our nation's workers all that much easier. We've added many services along the way - providing evaluations, taking registrations, organizing onsite seminars - but always with the goal in mind to be the best possible source of information on seminars and continuing education. We've tried to make it more efficient, more cost-effective and just downright easier for our customers to find exactly the right training to meet their needs.

We have always been here to help - always ready to answer the phone (Cathy and I still pick up the phones ourselves to answer your questions), answer your emails, help you with your searches until we can find you exactly what you need. We look forward to continuing to help you find a seminar or training program, make it easier for you to register yourself or others.

Thank you for letting us help.

Mona Piontkowski & Catherine Bellizzi (co-founders)

On-site Training

Looking to do some training? Why not organize a group of 10-15 participants from your company who need the same training and have the trainer come to you. You can set the schedule - either present the seminar in a complete day or have it spread out over two days so you don't have to take everyone away from work for a full eight hours. Many of the seminar sponsors have local instructors who can present the seminar, cutting down on travel expenses.

Don't have 10 or more individuals to train? Why not ask others in your community who might be in the same or a similar industry and need the same training. Organize your own group and the seminar sponsor will gladly come and present to the mixed company group. Want to be even more creative? Organize the seminar and guarantee payment to the seminar sponsor and then contact local businesses who might want to send participants, charge them the going rate for a public session, and apply that towards the cost - the seminar will easily pay for itself.

Check out our on-site portion of the website to see a complete list of seminars presented on-site only, but remember - almost any of the seminars listed on the website - public seminars too - can be presented on-site at a location of your choice.

Seminars on Internet Addiction

The Internet has become part of our daily life - things we never thought we'd do on the Internet now are commonplace. What time does the movie start? Can I see the menu of that new restaurant in town? How do I get to the restaurant? What is the weather like in London? All these and thousands of other tasks are completed on the net - we have become Internet addicted. Many of us can't start the day without checking our email - never know who might have sent us that all important email about the King of some country in deepest Africa who died tragically in that plane crash but before the plane spun out of control told his followers to make sure we got a nice big chunk of his wealth.

The problem of Internet addiction has become so bad that a seminar: Internet Addiction: Practical Solutions to an Increasingly Common Problem has been developed by Cross Country Education. This course covers the dangers of excessive use of the Internet by both children and adults. Many companies have had to address the problem of their workers abusing access to the Internet during working hours. Maybe this seminar can help them understand this growing addiction.
