Unfortunately, the underhanded leech is not above using coercion to get her help, so she reluctantly agrees to his request. To her amazement, a mage by the name of Arnold offers to work with her, just in case something goes wrong like the last time she was on a case. Although Sara believes the investigation will quickly wrap up, she comes to realize her error as a frightening conflict is brewing and having Arnold close by makes her happy, especially when their feelings for each other start changing from warily friendly to fervently desirous.

The innovative world constructed by Jess Haines for the Others and humans is compellingly inventive. With imaginative details and dramatic developments, “Spark of Temptation” adds to the urban fantasy series where the lives of the supernatural and mortal are expertly interwoven. Arnold and Sara are both spirited yet show compassionate concern for the other which is backed by candidly honest emotions. Toss in numerous believable secondary characters, and future books are anticipated with much eagerness. Sweet

Continuously long work hours at a psychiatric hospital keep Dr. Maggie Dillon from having a social life, but her newest patient definitely grabs her attention. When she talks with Derek Fielding, he is adamant about being possessed by the spirit of a man, one with an evil purpose. She at first thinks his problem is mental but comes to comprehend his possession is very real. Although she is now a woman of science, Maggie soon knows the only way to save Derek is to use the mystical powers she heard about when she lived in New Orleans but has always told herself did not actually exist.

“My Soul to Take” is hauntingly creepy with eerie situations and a couple whose passion will not be denied. Several happenings make it seem as though Derek and Maggie are fated to be together, and this causes their connection to be almost instantaneous with deeply conveyed feelings. The premise is creative and lets the reader experience the feelings of helplessness yet profound determination. Clare Willis gives her paranormal story a disturbing atmosphere filled with unknowns and heartfelt wishes. Sensuous

A Forced Marriage is a quick read but has so much substance you feel like you are getting a full novel.  I thought it was delightful the way James gets Elle to recognize her feelings for him.  He exudes charisma off the pages which will mesmerize readers.

Happy Birthday To Me is an amusing short story that  captures the reader from the first page.  A few hilarious moments as Tina takes the lead in fulfilling her fantasy and Sam following along not quite realizing he is a stud for hire.   I thought the chemistry was sizzling and  it was a refreshingly new plot.

For Women Only is an incredible tale, yet parts of it are very difficult to read. Khyff had suffered so much in his short life. He deserved to find happiness and love, not more pain and suffering. Mehfawni was in a different position, coming from a matriarchal society. The clash of the two cultures and beliefs was filled with poignancy and loss as well as heat and passion. Capturing your heart and your imagination, For Women Only and Kayelle Allen will touch you and leave you looking for more tales set in this captivating world.

Keta Diablo’s Crossroads: Shadowland was an incredible story. Rand and Frank are so well developed that they feel like old friends. The plot leaves you with the chills as you experience true evil and, then, relief when good intervenes. Hot passion and spine-tingling danger combine with the gratification and sorrow of the ending to produce a tale that will continue to haunt you even after you are done reading. We can only urge Keta Diablo to finish Book Four so we can see what happens next.

Down On The Boardwalk is Book Two of the Kyron Book Series by Suzanne Rock.  There is a unique twist to the shape shifter story with a rage that overcomes during a full moon.  I thought it added another element to this intriguing tale.

My mind is hazy, like there’s a fog in my brain.  I can’t remember anything past two months ago.  All I remember is my cage, my nest, and…Dylan.

Dylan is a barn owl.  He was put in the same cage as I was.  We were both given the serum, which forced us to stay in our owl bodies.  I don’t know what those bastard scientists wanted us to do, but with the nest and the surrounding foliage in our cage, it seemed fairly obvious.  They wanted to see if we would mate.

But something happened.  I’m not sure what.  I couldn’t shift back into my human body for the life of me.  Alarms were going off, scientists ran screaming, and not long after, the doors to my cell were opened.  I had nowhere to go, no one to run to.  What else was I to do but stay in the Everglades with the other birds?  It disgusts me what I’ve had to do for sustenance, but there was no other option.

Now, a man named Mackenzie has found me, and there’s something vaguely familiar about him.  He’s intense, he’s pissed, and he’s sexy as hell.  Good Lord, I don’t know what it is about him, but he gets my motor running like nobody’s business.  He’s not afraid to tell it like it is.  Apparently, we have a history together, but for the life of me, I can’t remember him.

I wish I did.  Because damn, if he lays one hand on me, I’m likely to go up in flames.

His scent, I’ve smelled it before.  My body knows him, even if my mind does not.  The strongest memories are those triggered by smells and tastes.  Perhaps if I kiss him, it will jog my memory.  Will he agree to that?  Will he stop at that?  He’s told me he’s been looking for me for the two months I’ve been with B*E*A*S*T*.  He wants to finish what we started.  But I don’t remember what we started.

Oh, but I want to.  I want to remember it with my entire being.  Is Mackenzie my mate?  Just the thought has me trembling.  The way his eyes flash at me, I can’t help but wish I was in his arms.  I don’t know him.

But I need him.

Intriguing story with Tanner and Misty trying to put  a one night stand they had behind them and the unresolved feelings years later that have resurfaced.  Both are second guessing each other along the way.  I thought the chemistry between the two really lit up the pages as they begin to find their way to something more than friendship.
