I am Rajesh Kumar, Sr. SEO Executive by profession with 4 years experience of industry experiences. New Indexing system by Google

Google has released a new indexing system known as 'Caffeine' which brings 50% faster results than its currently version 'decaf'. The old system indexed the web content in layers, but the new system indexes the web content in pieces. Google Caffeine will now index the new web pages and web content immediately and these will not have to wait for several days to be indexed. The new system takes approximately 100 millions GB of storage in one database and it is adding new data at a rate of hundreds of thousands of GB per day.

Step 2

Site Optimization: In this, we will discuss pre-designing phase and actual coding of our website such as Meta tags, link texts, keyword densities and other things which need to be improved. After this step, you will be insured that you web pages are clearly understandable by the search engines.

In pre-design phase, write your miles stones and deadlines of your task in a sheet. This helps you a lot to manage your task in a specified period. You have your valuable keywords. Write at least 200-300 words of texts per page on each keyword. Keyword density level should be 3-5 % per page. Always use “alt” tags on all images including your targeted seo keywords. Try to obtain the best CSS template as it helps to keep page size down, centralizes the text and formatting. Keep all JavaScript and CSS files in external .JS and .CSS files. Hide your page formatting with CSS. Then, there is nothing left on page except meta and div tags. Now use heading tags (h1-h6) is your next step. H1 tag tells the search engine which topic is most important. Avoid h1 tag more than 1-2 times. To support h1 tag use h2 tag and similarly, use h3 tag to support h2 tag and so on. You can also use other tag like bold, italic, underline etc.

Now focus your mind on writing Title Description and keywords tags with your keywords for each page of your website. Make a sheet for that. Keep your title of minimum 60 characters, description about 150 characters and keywords about 870 characters. These tags should be written in right sequences. First title, secondly description and then keywords. After this, use robot.txt file. This will tell the search engines whether you want to be indexed or not. Use Google Map technology i.e. sitemap.xml

Now test your webpage for broken links, CSS and HTML Corrections with the help of validation tools like http://validator.w3.org/ . If you get some errors, correct them with the help of your web developer or programmer. Each page of your website should go under syntax as well as readability testing.

Now, You have completed your second step of your seo.

Step 3

Site Development: There are some following ways to develop your website.

1 – Install Google sitemap .xml file. This will index your every web page automatically and feed your web content to Google for you.
2 – Add RSS for your website. This provides the way to exchange the content with other websites.
3 – Start blogging and web forums to feed fresh content to search engines crawlers.
3 – Install Google Analytics to track the traffic of your website.

This completes your 3rd step of your seo process.

Step 4

Site Promotion: Here we start Internet Marketing seo of our website. This will really boost up your website in ranking and derives web traffic. It is not a brain science. Follow a good strategy with a systematic plan.

1 – Link Development
(a) Start free directories submissions. To get quick boosting on ranking, you can also submit paid directories if you have budget for your site. But you know that link aging diminishes the value of your one way link. So, if you are interested, you can take link from paid directories at intervals.

It is the most important aspects of SEO. It is a time consuming activity. While doing link exchange of your website, one should be aware of some common mistakes which are discussed below:

1 - Do not get the back links from those websites which having “no follow” attribute.

2 - You are getting back links from high PR websites but hyperlink text may not have your main keywords.

3 - You must be focused on getting text links with your keywords for SEO purposes rather than getting image links. You can get image links if this is the only way but be assure that alt text of your linking image must has your main keywords.

4 - Avoid getting back links from irrelevant websites. This is very popular mistakes done by link exchangers. Just focus on relevant websites.

5 - Avoid getting back links from those websites with pages having number of links. Focus on those websites with pages not more than 50-60 links.

6 - Do not get the back links from the pages which spiders do not crawl like dynamic pages or those pages that are banned by search engines.

1 – Select the wrong keywords. Some people select those keywords which average users do not search them. Everyone can make this mistake; even an expert SEO can do this. So, always focus on choosing the right keyword for your site. This can even affect you site ranking as well as web traffic. 2 – Not putting the main keyword in Title Tag. Since your page title always appears in the search results, so you should put your main keywords in 'title' tag of your site. This is very important place for your keyword.

3 – Optimizing flash websites. Flash sites are some but difficult to optimize. As crawler can not read the website content of the flash website and so they are unable to index them. If you want that Search Engines may index your flash based website then an alternative is to provide a HTML version of that flash website.

4 – Avoid using JavaScript’s for navigation in your webpage as Search Engines can not read this. If you are using JavaScript then to crawl all links of your webpage you have to build a site map or use noscript tags for your links.

5 – Over concentrating on Meta Tags. Some people understand that creating Meta Tags for their website is the only SEO and by doing this they expects of ranking well in Search Engines.

6 – Avoid using images only for Headings instead of using heading tags (h1, h2…h6).

7 – Using keywordless URL for your domain. Keywords with domain are very useful for Search Engines like Yahoo, MSN. Also even Google give importance to this. A non keyword rich URL’s may rank well but keyword rich URL’s have some advantages over their competitors.

8 – Using less keyword in the content. Now you have chosen your right keywords and ready to write you site content. Always use the right keyword in right place wherever it make sense.

When you are in the process of learning SEO, a question comes into our mind that “What is Search Engine Crawler or Bots?”, “How does it visit a website?” And “What are its criteria of examining the webpage?”

A Search Engine Crawler is an automated and calculated program used to examine a new webpage. The process by which it crawls is called web crawling or spidering It has fixed algorithms, sets of constraints and certain instructions for examining the webpage. Some crawlers are like: GoogleBot is used by Google Search Engine, MSNBot is used by MSN Search Engine, Slurp is used by yahoo Search Engine and Teoma crawler is used by Ask Jeeves.

The crawler visits the webpage through its URL. It stores and send this URL to Search Engine for indexing. First it checks the robot.txt file of the webpage. The major search engines that you’re probably familiar with today were created from 1993. Some of them are below:

Yahoo!—1994

To understand what SEO is, we should first know about Search Engines. When you type a word or phrase into a search box of any search engine and click a button. Within a few seconds, you will see thousands of pages will appear. Then all you have to do is click through those results to find what you want. There is an agent which looks every URL on the web page and collects the information like keywords and phrases on each page of the website in its database. This agent is so called, a crawler, spider, or robot.

Search Engines are classified into three categories:

1) Primary Search Engines – There are three major search engines like Google, Yahoo and MSN. These are called primary search engines. These three create maximum traffic for your website and our all SEO will focus on these three search engines.

2) Secondary Search Engines – The search engines like Lycos, LookSmart, Miva, Ask.com, and Espotting are called secondary search engines. They are useful only for regional and narrowly focused searches. They don’t generate as much traffic as the primary search engines.

3) Targeted Search Engines - These search engines are very narrowly focused to a general topic. Examples of targeted search engines include CitySearch, Yahoo! Travel and like other types of search engines whose ranking criteria vary from one search engine to another.

Title tags

So, I recommend you that your page title must be “call to action” for users. Title tags should include your main keyword or keyword phrases. The title should ideally be less than 64 characters in length. Every page must have a title tag and each page’s title tag should be different. The title tag should be beginning with the name of your business, company or sites’ keywords that probably attract the users to your website

Words on content

Avoid duplicate content of your webpage. You must have relevant content on your website about your keywords. Choose your main keywords for optimizing that Google finds them important. The average number of words on a page for Google was 943 while Yahoo's average words per page in the top 10 was 1305.

Meta Tags

META tags can be very useful for Search Engine Optimizations as a source of information to help them to decide how to list and rank your website. These display your webpage keywords and description. The meta description tag display the description of your page in Google.

Alt Tags

The alt attribute is used to define an "alternate text" for an image. You always see ALT text in Internet Explorer that appears by mousing over the images in a yellow box. We can not see this in other browsers like Mozilla etc. Remember, ALT text should always describe the content of the image.

Heading tags

Page headings are created with the tag, in which n is a number between 1 and 5. There are five levels of heading, each using a slightly smaller font size. Many search engines and Web indexes recommend that the use of tags in the webpage will be a huge boost in keyword relevance. The H1 tag is designed to tell the page topic.
