'Ghostbusters II' Documentary Wraps Production

A new documentary about the making of Ghostbusters II has finally wrapped production. The doc is titled Too Hot to Handle: Remembering Ghostbusters II. It's a follow-up to Cleanin' Up The Town: Remembering Ghostbusters.

Serving as a follow-up to 2019’s Cleanin’ Up The Town: Remembering Ghostbusters, the new documentary takes a deep dive into the making of 1989’s Ghostbusters II. Among those interviewed are Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver, Harold Ramis, director Ivan Reitman, and Industrial Light & Magic visual effects legend Dennis Muren.

Jason Bateman Talks 'Game Night' Sequel

Not that it's really on anyone's radar, but for those who are interested, Jason Bateman is down for a Game Night 2.

And while the moment is about his TV work, there is also an important question to address: a “Game Night” sequel. Bateman developed the 2018 hit, then handed directing duties to writers John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, and he wouldn’t mind reuniting the band. “I think if John and Jonathan wanted to write one, I’ll bet you [Warner Bros.’] Mike [De Luca] and Pam [Abdy] will be up for it, and I certainly would be there as an actor,” he says, calling studio ensemble comedies “the best jobs.”

Sorkin Wanted Eisenberg For 'Social Reckoning'

So the sequel to The Social Network, The Social Reckoning, is on it way to us. And the main character has been recast. Jeremy Strong is stepping in for Jesse Eisenberg. And Strong's performance seems great, judging from the trailer.

But, initially, Aaron Sorkin wanted Eisenberg to return to the role. And it makes sense. It's Jesse's role and he crushed it. He declined, unfortunately. Having him return would've been some great connective tissue to add to the continuity of the sequel. However, having the role recast gives this sequel room to stand on its own.

“I felt like it belonged to him, and he was certainly battle-tested,” says Sorkin of originally wanting Eisenberg to reprise his Oscar-nominated role. “He simply did not want to be conflated with Mark Zuckerberg anymore, that he has his problems with the guy. He doesn’t like kids coming up to him in airports with business cards that say ‘I’m CEO, bitch’ for him to sign.”

Sorkin elaborated a little about a serendipitous moment involving both Eisenberg and Strong:

“Coincidentally, it was at the 2025 Vanity Fair Oscar Party that Sorkin first mentioned to Eisenberg that he had a script that he wanted him to read. Just a few minutes later, at that same party, he ran into Jeremy Strong, who asked Sorkin what he had been up to, and Sorkin told him about the script. Strong indicated that if Eisenberg wasn’t interested, he would be.”

I think this is for the best. Jesse played a different version of Zuckerberg than what Jeremy is going to portray. And in many ways, it feels like Zuckerberg is a different person than he was then. But, hell, I don't know the guy.

Yes, you read that correctly. 24 Jump Street is in the works. What happened to 23 Jump Street? I'm assuming that'll be answered at some point. But as of now, Jonah Hill, Channing Tatum, and Ice Cube are all in negotiations to return for a third Jump Street.

“24 Jump Street” is in the works, and stars Jonah Hill, Channing Tatum and Ice Cube are in talks to return for the third installment in the crime comedy franchise.

Rodney Rothman will direct the film and wrote the script with Jonah Hill and Meghan Malloy. Also returning are producers Phil Lord and Chris Miller — who helmed the first two films, 2012’s “21 Jump Street” and 2014’s “22 Jump Street” — and Neal H. Moritz.

TV: 'Home Improvement' Reboot Not Likely, Says Tim Allen

Don't hold your breath for a Home Improvement revival. Though some major interest is there, both from the studio and the actors, it doesn't seem likely. Tim Allen commented on it in a recent interview, basically explaining because of all the recent off-screen stuff with oldest son Zachery Ty Bryan. Ugh!

“They keep talking about how it could move forward, but they get stuck [because] there are some personality problems right now with the boys,” Allen told US Weekly in an interview published Wednesday.

“They’ve got their own issues. I always thought it would be cool if it was a story about them. That’s a little challenging right now, to put it mildly.”

The studio really believed they had something with the cast of the previous movie. So most of them return for this go 'round. Steve Talley shines as Dwight Stifler. This movie essentially has the same plot as most college frat movies, following the path laid out by Revenge of the Nerds.

Heather Donahue Breaks Her Silence On The New 'Blair Witch Project'

It was pretty exciting when most of the OG cast and crew of the original The Blair Witch Project was announced as returning as producers on the new sequel. But there was a name missing. Heather Donahue. THE Heather!

But now, in a comment on a Facebook page, Heather has broken her silence and commented on exactly why she isn't involved in the new movie.

There's seems to be some willful confusion about my involvement with the reboot, given the use of my image and the quote above from James Wan. I want to clarify that am not participating.

I was offered an agreement that, for me personally, raised difficult long-term questions about rights, future technological use of identity and voice, the ability to speak freely, and compensation. Ultimately, it just wasn't something felt comfortable signing.

I genuinely wish everyone involved well. But preserving my autonomy mattered more to me.

So it's very much the same reasons that she wasn't involved in the 2016 movie as well. It's unfortunate but I totally get it.

The mid-2000s was a haven for direct-to-video sequels. And I love that era for that exact reason. Today's sequel wasn't needed, but I'm glad it exists. This is 2006's American Pie Presents: The Naked Mile.

MY THOUGHTS:
This movie basically asks, "What if a Stifler was a Jim?" And honestly, I love that. Is this movie great? No, but it's highly entertaining. Also, you may recognize the main character as the main kid from the Goosebumps episode The Haunted Mask II. We all grow up.

Once again, my opinion doesn't always follow the trend. I like Psycho '98. I see it less as a remake and more of an experiment. A modern, colorized, re-telling...with a few creative liberties. Sue me, I enjoy it.
