I can't quite explain it, but I sort of had a feeling this news was coming. A sequel to How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days is actually, probably, maybe happening. Is the rom-com back?

A “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days” sequel is in the works at Paramount, with original star Kate Hudson attached to produce the project.

Development on the sequel is in early stages, with the cast and several key creative roles yet to be selected, according to a source close to the project. The intention of the filmmakers and the studio is to have Hudson and her co-star from the original, Matthew McConaughey, reprise their roles. The project is currently seeking a screenwriter, so casting will depend on the take.

News on the National Treasure 3 front has been quiet for the last decade, but that seems to have changed. Director John Turteltaub has confirmed that a third movie is happening with Nicolas Cage and the rest of the OG cast.

“I have not said anything before this, but you deserve to have the scoop,” Turtletaub told Paris and Black. “It’s finally real. Now, it’s Hollywood real, meaning things could happen. Nic gets hit by a bus, there’s no National Treasure 3. If I get hit by a bus, there’s probably a National Treasure 3. Welcome to Hollywood.”

This marks Oren Koules’ second major horror franchise for Lionsgate, as he previously produced all 10 films in the Saw series, accounting for over a billion dollars in box office.

You can't keep a good mullet down. Joe Dirt is set to return in a new animated sequel series from Fox.

As it marks its 25th anniversary, David Spade‘s 2001 feature comedy Joe Dirt is eying a return with a followup animated series. The sequel, titled Joe Dirt, is in development at Fox with Spade set to voice the titular character and executive produce.

The animated series, written by Scott Gairdner based on the 2001 Columbia film, is co-produced by sibling Sony Pictures Television and Fox Entertainment.

It’s now 25 years later, and Joe Dirt (Spade) keeps on keepin’ on. He’s still in love with Brandy, his skull still hasn’t un-fused with the mullet, and most of all, he’s still got his eternal optimism. And he needs it – just because he’s married with three teenage daughters doesn’t mean his problems are over. The messes are bigger, and Joe’s mop and bucket just won’t cut it.

TV: 'Clueless' Series Is Back On At Paramount+

After some development issues, the previously announced Clueless TV sequel series is officially a go at Paramount+.

The “Clueless” sequel series has found a new home. The show, which will see Alicia Silverstone reprise the role of Cher Horowitz, has been greenlit at Paramount+.

The project was originally set up for development at Peacock in early 2025, but it was reported in April 2026 that it was no longer moving forward at that streaming service. Sources say that Paramount+ has given the show a six-episode order. It is slated to begin production in Los Angeles in 2027. According to sources, the production has submitted paperwork with the California Film Commission to receive state tax subsidies.

No longer just rumors and speculation. Days of Thunder 2 is happening and Jonathan Levine is in talks to direct the sequel.

Paramount’s “Days of Thunder” sequel is shaping up with Jonathan Levine (“50/50,” “Warm Bodies”) in negotiations to direct returning star Tom Cruise.

Cruise will also produce the film alongside Jerry Bruckheimer, who produced the original 1990 racing drama. Will Staples wrote the script for the sequel.

It's always odd when a genuinely great movie produces very sub-par sequels. Yeah, this is one of those. This is 1987's Jaws: The Revenge.

BREAKDOWN:

Sean Brody has assumed his father's role at the Amity Island police department, and is engaged to a young woman named Tiffany. His mother, Ellen, still lives in Amity as well. Mike Brody is now married to Carla and is researching conch snails with his partner, Jake, in the Bahamas. One night, while repairing a buoy in Amity harbor from the police boat, Sean is ambushed from below and killed by the Brodys' old enemy, a Great White shark. After the funeral, Ellen wants Mike to stay off the water, but he refuses, and takes Ellen back to the Caribbean with him and his wife and daughter, Thea. Ellen starts trying to enjoy life again, meeting charming pilot Hoagie after having been a widow for some time. Mike and Jake encounter the Great White shark in the water, and tag and track it for research. But the shark soon starts wreaking havoc, and comes after Thea on a banana boat ride. Now, Ellen, Mike, Jake, and Hoagie will face the shark on his terms. Who will survive?

MY THOUGHTS:
Look, I'll be honest. When I was in sixth grade I developed a fascination with great white sharks and the Jaws franchise...and yeah, I liked The Revenge. It's still highly watchable, albeit not a very good movie.
