Kashmir woke up yesterday covered with white velvet blanket. I stepped out and met a few people including a group of playful kids. In no time I realized a fact that a lot of people including me, like snow. A few find it to be an unnecessary freezing of water.

And I also saw this little chap (image below) facing its first winter playfully. He was thrilled to be part of the nature's opera.

Kashmiri shikarawalas (boatmen) returning home after a busy working day. They survive on these waters and cannot think beyond these mesmerizing water bodies of Kashmir. The Dal offers them livelihood and they bring Dal alive.

As I shuffle down the path leading through the park and as the days grow shorter now and soon it will be dark.

I realize that life is like the seasons we live through, Life is like the changing seasons always changing too.

Only then we realize that life has changed so fast and only then we realize that nothing ever last.

Life goes through the seasons as the years accumulate, Many times we long for summer when it is too late.

Let the light never fade!

Clearness ornaments profound thought

While taking a stroll along the banks of Dal lake, I spotted a few roadside hawkers with their stalls of beautiful ornaments. I could easily compare these to the chain of houseboats on the other side in the middle of the lake. Beaded with colorful lights and glittering in the aura of a beautiful sunset, I couldn't stop myself clicking the below images for you.

My land is covered with such natural splendor that it may take many lives to soak it entirely. The place always looks seeped in beauty and as many know, my Kashmir stands at the corner-stone of history.
