As a musician, I have fallen into the iron-clad habit with resisting the temptation to ever buy things, and it’s most definitely to a fault. I swear I can afford shoes, but I still want to try to wear my favorite tweed sneakers (from the GAP kids boys section, 6+ years ago, per Katie P’s wonderful assistance) even though there are holes so big in the bottom of each shoe that it will tear up any socks that I wear with them (so I wear them without socks, naturally). It’s most definitely a laziness thing. If I don’t look for new shoes, I can spend more time making other things.

So now I’ve got nothing but broken umbrellas and a messenger bag where I can’t put things in 3 of the 6 pockets because they will fall out. What have I become?! I think these wish lists will help me get in the mood to actually make a purchase…

I got to make the flyer for School of Rock’s Rock 101 show, and creepy zombie bunnies was the inspiration. They’re probably the grossest things I’ve ever drawn, and they’re just some bunnies…

I really like drawing posters, I hope I get the chance to draw a lot more and improve!

Gigs are so much fun to dress up for! And last night I got to wear my dollparts disco tap shorts — how cool are they??! They were made by my very good friend, Michelle, who just launched her new spring line, the redesign of her website and blog (that I had the great honor of getting to do!) and is hosting a contest where you can win a pair of these shorts or a cropped tank top!

As for the gig, it was so much fun. Murdertron is comprised of the best musicians I’ll probably ever get to hang out with. Please check out the album, completely written, performed, and mixed by Brandon — it’s definitely one of my favorite albums.

After our set, we all just swooned watching Sam Trump, sexiest musician ever? ever.

I guess I haven’t introduced you to Mr. Fox yet. He sleeps about 95% of the time. And just to warn you, I will be posting a lot of instragrams of him. Doing this.

I finally put my anxieties aside and executed the Frankie Teardrop portrait this last week. This was commissioned by my good friend Austin, for his girlfriend Carrie. I wanted it to be inspired by tarot card design, but not be too kitschy of an interpretation. So here sits Frankie as the King of Cups.
