hey, long time no post. brat cafe racer resto what ever bmw is more or less done. the head light could use a good coat of paint, but i'd say it's about as good as it's gonna get for the summer.

after a summer of riding with the super slim brat seat i have decided that a little more foam in needed for my fat ass. Dont get me wrong, the old seat was great around town, but after a few hours carving up mountains you start to feel every little bump and crack in the road hammer your poor back side. any way, found some great tutorials on seat making and decided to do it up right. decided to go a little more bmw scrambler style this time with the seat. Its a good start to the winter todo list.

i know i dont post often any more and sorry about that to the few people who actually read this. just a quick update on the bmw. Got her all painted and ready to do. I redid all the electronics and replaced the starter, points and alternator with one from eurometric. bike runs fantastic. so happy with the work i've done this winter. cant wait until the roads are salt free so i can get some riding done.

I built a brat seat this weekend out of fiberglass and anti fatigue foam. It came out looking awesome, but is hard as a soft rock (sandstone?).

Been tinkering with my old r75 5 over the pass two weeks. this is the first time I've had it running in 7 years. this was my first motorcycle and the feel of getting it back on the road is amazing. As for the ride, it runs a lot like a forty year old bike that hasn't been registered since 1998. The running plan at this point is to install a Dyna III electronic ignition and a pair of Mikuni vm34 carburetors to really get it running like a modern bike. having not ridden a big bike in a few years, it will be nice to have a bike that I can throw lady sha on the back of and turn 'us time' into 'us and bike time'.

well, sportier cafe racer seat achieved. also, swapped out the xr forks for ct90 forks so I can have a lower front fender. nest stem bill be mounting the ct90 front wheel (17", plus it will let me run a speedo) and install an atc200x rear shock. this bike is getting better all the time. gonna be a neat little esspresso racer (small cafe racer?) in no time.

Had a lot of fun making this bike, but as projects keep piling up and my money disappears, I have decided to offer up my children as a sacrifice to the gods. I figure I should take an updated photo before I push my problems down the road.

xr80 cafe racer

So being short on bills this month, I traded my cb125 for a few hundred bucks and an xr80 dirt bike that was in pretty bad shape. I was very sad to see my little cb go, and even sadder to hear that she has been painted matte black, but to keep on the bright side, I have always wanted to do an xr80 cafe bike. The cafe racer concept is not uncommon with the xr80's big brother, the xr650, and I am never one to let an opportunity pass me by. I changed the color of the frame from the 1986 Honda orange to a semi gloss black, picked up some new levers and fitted a seat, tank and headlight that I had sitting in the shed. Could use a sportier seat in the future, but I think it pulls the cafe racer / street tracker look well.

I think I'll name you 'pup'

After a series of set backs on the s90 'STorm trooper, I have decided to call it a loss and redirect my time and money in a new project. I had hoped that I could swap all the parts over from the s90 frame to cl70, seeing as they are both Hondas and where both built some of the same years. Turns out no, the only part that swaps over are the forks. The swing arm is two short and two thin, wheels are the wrong size, you name it. Hella sucks. Any way, here is the new project, think of it as a cl70 cafe racer with a little bit of street fighter just for fun, the cl125 CLone trooper.

Still tinkering with my s90 cafe racer. the pz19 carb I picked up for it turned out to be a knock off that was a pain to tune, so I went back to the stock s90 carb. Seems like a lot of one stem forward and two step back, but it's slowly comming togeather. I did ad a racing stripe, giving me an extra 100hp, and i'm thinking about building an extended swing arm, but that's for later.

Storm Trooper update

The s90 storm trooper is now running. Replaced the cigar pipe with a shorty . it sounds mean, but is now running a little lean, but running is running, so fuck you. Also, the speedo spins backwards, so there's that.

Today was the first time I managed to get the s90 to fire up. The carb still needs to be tuned properly, and I need to fix the wiring for the lights and put the chain on, but other than that I feel happy with how far it has come in such a short time. For the astute viewer, you may notice that there is no clutch lever on this bike; that is because the bike actually has an st90 engine and not an s90, thus i have named it the Storm Trooper. I picked up a barn find s90 a few months ago (in the back of an actual horse barn, no less). It was in bad shape and got me a good bit of flack for spending money on junk so close to x-mas. She's still a work in progress, but having finally had a little time to work on her, I could not resist showing off.

Von Zipper made a promo video featuring a gang of modded monkey bikes and some vintage mopeds running around in the background. not the biggest fan of the monkey, but someone put some nice work into them, and that should be saluted. Also, von zipper shirts with puch magnums on them!

Here's an up date on my new ca100 super cub. There are a lot of changes made as when i picked it up it had been striped and stored incorrectly for many years. some changes i like, and some i wish i didn't have to do. the main one is the honda 50cc motor it had on it when i picked it up had no cylinder and the crank case was full of rust, so it got swapped with a lifan 70. I like the lifan, don't get me wrong, it has a lot of power, and the sound is amazing, but it's a shame that it is now missing it's honda heart.
