I’ve tossed around the idea of a super jungle post for awhile and finally decided that it needed to happen. So I spent about five hours pooling a few of my favorite old school jungle sets from the last decade that I feel are really worth sharing. You can either download the sets individually from the links below, or you can yank them all as two big ass zip files at the bottom of the post.

The audio varies because of the age of the recording or the original source material. Some are encoded at really high bit-rates while others might have some hiss and pop. However all of the sets fall into the range of “good” to “great” sound quality.

Today is about variety, so here are two entirely different types of dance music to satiate your Monday music appetite.

First up…Redlight, aka DnB/clownstep producer Clipz, who reinvented himself with a super bass, heavy rave revival sound. To me, it hovers in that gray area between dubstep, breaks, and old skool hardcore.

Rumble profiled him back in November with his tune Feels So Good. This is an older 20 minute promo mix released last year to showcase his new direction as a producer (although I’m sure “Clipz” isn’t done yet).

REDLIGHT – Showcase Mix 2009 by Redlight UK

The soundcloud wave player is showing up intermittently right now. If you can’t see the wave above then listen to it on his SoundCloud page <a href="http://soundcloud.com/redlight-uk/redlight-showcase-mix-2009"">HERE

Next is Germany’s Vera with a really melodic deep house mix. It was released as a promo mix for her appearance at a recent Fabric night in London.

It’s always unusual to hear this kind of music played in the UK, because their version of deep house is very different from our own. It tends to slide more towards trance than the West Coast house we’re familiar with in the States.

What is it about The Beatles’ music that makes for such excellent hip-hop mashup fodder? A lot of folks would say that Danger Mouse’s “Grey Album” broke the mold and that this is just a re-hash, but I’d disagree…I think this album kicks it up a bit.

Tom Caruana is the “Danger Mouse” this time and it’s being distributed via the Tea Sea Records website. You can pick from three versions: a full vocal version, an instrumentals version, and the tamer radio edits. Obviously the un-edited version gets the heaviest listen, but I think the instrumental plays extremely well.

<strike>The downloads require a quick registration, but it’s painless.</strike>

Looks like Tea Sea took the page down, so it’s been re-upped HERE and HERE.
