For Shadowloo Showdown 2012, we aim to have a trailer released every month leading up to the major event in May to keep everyone informed about what’s going down. Below is the February edition, which reveals some international players and some of our latest sponsors for SS2k12, not to mention some other cool news. So check it out and let us know what you think.

After the excitement of the OzHadou Nationals which took place over the weekend in Sydney, it’s time to get back on track here in Melbourne with round 5 of Shadowloo Night Live this Sunday, February the 26th.

While Melbourne had a decent showing at OHNX, with V1p3r winning SoulCalibur V and finishing 2nd behind Xian from Singapore in King of Fighter XIII. ToXY taking 2nd in UMvC3 after beating some of the best in Australia on the way and finishing 5th in AE2012, the highest Melbourne placing at OHNX. We also had some disappointing showings from our other players, including myself.

But we can do better and will do better at Shadowloo Showdown 2012, even with all those big names coming down and Shadowloo Night Live is the training ground for all of us to level up in order to defend our region. So I hope you guys can all turn up and enjoy a whole day of fighting game action.

I would also like to point out we will be trying to organize some micro tournaments through out the day. So even if you lose early in tournament, there will be the chance to keep playing and getting some tournament pressure experience in these micro tournaments, all while being able to win some more cash. More info on the day.

The LG Cup Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition Global Championships is done and dusted, but there was no stream footage, the reason being, they were filming the whole thing to show it on Korean television. Check out the preview of the event below.

It looks like we were right in thinking players can have their preset gem load outs on a USB memory stick and can take it along to tournaments to make character and gem selection a quicker process then what it is now. Thanks to the CrossCounter Asia team of Zhieep and Xian, who broke the news in their latest episode.

Check out the episode from the 10:50min mark to find out more. Another interesting thing to note is it also saves button layout choices, so even more time saved which is great. Enjoy the episode.

The Shadowloo Showdown 2012 qualifier in South Korea that took place tonight at Cafe ID is now over and we have the results below for the top 3 players, but more importantly the winner who will be joining us at Shadowloo Showdown in Melbourne, Australia this May as they represent South Korea alongside reigning champion; Poongko.

Just want to say a huge congratulations to Mr.Lizard who used Viper in the tournament and went through some really tough competition in the process. While it wasn’t the biggest turnout, it was made up for with sheer skill level. Rose player Kensou, Zzangmoo the Zangief, Dante the Ryu and others put on a great show for those who tuned in to watch it live.

You can see the winners final, losers final and grand final below, but head over to our Shadowloo youtube channel for the rest of the footage. Mr. Lizard also had a first to 3 with Poongko who was there to cheer everyone on after the tournament which you can also see below.

Congrats again to Mr. Lizard, we look forward to meeting him and seeing how he preforms against some of the best the world has to offer.
