After scouring the scene for the hottest new up and coming acts, anewmovement.com selected The Shakes alongside Rumble Strips and Underground Heroes to be involved in 3 gigs to launch their new new style, music and fashion site.

The Shakes played the Glasgow Barfly and this vidcast has all the highlights from the whole day: the stupidly early start, the journey there, setting up, a little interview and then three songs from the show itself. Download the vidcast and enjoy the tunes.

On Monday 29th January, The Shakes recorded everything they did. All the best bits are here in Shakecast 5. Follow the band via the morning papers to a meeting with their record label, and a new acoustic version of 'Sixteen Forever' in their London office. The second half of the show gives you an insight into the creative process of the band as you hear them put together a backing track for a new song, then take it to a rehearsal - all recorded, as it happened,on the day.

Topping the present list in this 17-minute podcast is a worldwide exclusive preview of their next single, ‘I Want A Better Life’ which is produced by James Lewis (The On-Offs, Morning Runner, Dead 60’s, Artic Monkeys) and sees The Shakes explore the murky world of materialism with a rougher side to their sound. Released March 12th.

The show also features an exclusive demo of new pop/electronica track Sunday Sunday, a live version of Daylight from their sell-out show at The Borderline in November and indispensable relationship advice from their drummer in the brand-new feature Dear Millso.

Playing the Tiscali VIP tent at Reading Festival was the highlight of our summer.

No vidcast of this, sorry, maybe in the future but we wanted you to see it anyway. We played the Tiscali tent at the Reading Festival back in the Summer and thought you might like to see some of the footage.
