Unlike previous games of the series, Isuka allows for fights with up to four players, and is exclusively programmed for use in tournament play. The boss of the game is Leopaldon, a Gear with very little details. A new mode was introduced, the Guilty Gear (GG) Boost Mode. This is a side scrolling adventure, much like Tekken 3's Tekken Force mode. Another new mode is the Robo-Ky II Factory. You can customize your Robo-Ky II and play through his Boost Mode to earn Points for more techniques, including some that were removed due to tournament rules.

The bosses of the GG Boost mode are Kakusei Sol and Kakusei Ky, altered (and far more powerful) versions of Sol Badguy and Ky Kiske. Both feature a unique move not seen before. The "Instant Kill" moves were removed in Isuka, and Dizzy's Gamma Ray Overdrive was removed from her move set as well, since it qualifies as her version of said moves.

In order to compensate for the increase in players, Isuka added a turn button. This was a largely criticized feature, and many reviewers feel it ruined the game.

Isuka means "crossbill" in Japanese, which is the onomatopoeia of the sound made by two swords when they clash.

God Mode is a humorous co-op third person shooter with non-linear gameplay, fast and frantic shooting, hordes of on-screen enemies, and stunning visuals.

Hades might be hell in a toga, to quote the sarcastic narrator of four-player horde shooter God Mode, but its motley rogues' gallery of demons and monsters never quite equals the hellishness of enduring multiple matches that freeze at the good parts. For PC players, at least, that's where the true torment of this trip through the underworld lies. That's a shame, because there's a good bit of fun waiting in God Mode's corpse-strewn halls, and it's especially worth suffering through if you bring along three friends.

But if you're looking for a good story, look somewhere else. The most you get out of God Mode lies in the loading screens that reveal your Olympian ancestry and in the narrator's bemused commentary on your invariably unheroic demise. Sometimes you're pegged as a poor soul who suffered a headfirst skateboarding accident; at other times, you're the guy who put on jeans that were three sizes too small. This is a game that's solely about the pleasures of killing hordes of underworld denizens with up to three other players (although you can create a private match for yourself, if you wish), and there's something refreshing about the way it all but sneers at giving meaning to the proceedings.

God Mode's aesthetic appeal instead lies in the occasionally stunning visuals of its five maps, which run the gamut from crumbling Hellenic temples to iron-laced hell pits that would look at home in any God of War release. Fitting, then, that advancement through these maps also plays out somewhat like God of War, with portals sealing off the exit to the next arena until you've slaughtered all the enemies in sight. Make it to the end, and you're treated to a treasure room that's bursting with coins you can use for new weapons, cosmetic items, or upgrades, along with a sudden shift to friendly fire that lets you turn on the three buddies who helped you reach this point.

Slaughter lies at the heart of the game and its three difficulty modes, and more often than not, it's fun. Weapons generally pack a satisfyingly meaty punch (particularly if you're playing with a controller with a rumbler), and the enemies come in enough varieties to keep you looking out for colossal challenges like minotaurs and cyclopes amid the rank-and-file armored skeletons. In addition, acid-spewing harpies and hideously deformed cupids provide ranged contrasts to the generally melee-oriented hordes, as do globe-flinging Atlas statues. Upgradable special abilities add further spice in tight spots, ranging from simple shields to spells that force your enemies to lend a helping hand.

The weakness of the combat lies in the movements of the avatars themselves, who walk and dodge with such nonchalance that you'd think they were playing with their dogs rather than battling the legions of the underworld. Even so, an option to sprint takes away much of the pain, and the lack of cover mechanics, apart from being able to stand behind titanic environmental elements, imbues the entire gameplay with a welcome urgency.

Thankfully, God Mode never lets itself stay too retro. For one, it breaks up the otherwise repetitive pattern of clearing rooms of demons with several random tests of faith, which toss in a new mutator every time you move to a new arena. Sometimes different weapons appear in your hands every few seconds; sometimes one massive enemy remains invincible until the rest are taken care of; and sometimes you even find your foes simply cavorting about in party hats. Other features help stave off the threat of tedium. Wanting a greater challenge or finding yourself bored with the grind needed to unlock a new level? You can hobble yourself with up to seven oaths by sacrificing key elements, such as your shields or your damage output, for massive boosts to your experience points or gold. It's a welcome touch, even if it sometimes paradoxically lets you rush through the content. Leveling either solo or without oaths is tough, yes, but take most of the oaths, team up with three competent players, and you'll find yourself unlocking items in an hour that once felt as though they'd take days to acquire.

Yet the biggest problem is that leveling isn't as fulfilling as it should be. Sure, each new level unlocks new ways to spend your gold on pirate caps, plasma pistols, new special skills, and the like, but both weapons and cosmetic items in particular suffer from a disappointing lack of variety. Female characters are out of the question, and the buzz saw is about as outlandish as you get for weaponry in this otherworldly setting that begs for surprises like flamethrowers or even ancient Greek weaponry. Worse yet, considering the comparatively limited ammo and firing rate of the higher-level weapons, you'll find you can hold your own just as well at the higher levels with a fully upgraded version of the SMG you received at level 1 as you can with the buzz saw.

Other troubles plague the PC version's multiplayer arenas. As of the time of writing, many multiplayer games end in midcombat with the enemies running in place and invulnerable to attacks, even though the players can still run around and fire their weapons. The action never starts up again, which means you need to exit and begin another round. (Thankfully, you retain the XP and gold you earned before such desertions.) There's also no push-to-talk command or an option to turn off voice chat unless you're in a custom match, which means you're stuck listening to the cacophony of echoes from up to three bad microphones during the slaughter. And when random players inevitably crank up their own music, God Mode truly begins to feel like hell.

Still, God Mode offers a decent amount of fast-paced fun for an agreeable price, but it isn't long before the tedium of repeating the same five levels starts to set in. In time, even the tests of faith and the oaths can't hold this sensation at bay. But if you're only looking for a few hours of entertaining mindless horde shooting, God Mode generally does a decent job of providing it.

Gameplay

The game takes place in the year 1947, in the city of Los Angeles, a city of glamour, fame, and wealth, but also where crime, vice, and corruption are rife. The player assumes the role of Los Angeles Police Department Officer, and later Detective, Cole Phelps.[22][23] The game starts with Phelps as a uniformed patrolman,[24] and follows his career as he advances through the police department bureaus (desks) of Traffic, Homicide, Vice and Arson. Two more desks, Bunco and Burglary, were cut from the final version of the game as the game would not have fit on one Blu-Ray disc. This decision caused the removal of 11 more cases.[25] Instead of missions or levels, the game assigns the player with cases. Each desk gives the player a new partner who will help Phelps in his investigations. After each case, the player will receive a rating of 1–5 stars depending on their performance in both interrogations and searching for clues. In some cases, when searching an area for clues to the crime, players can also find newspapers. Besides reading the story, the newspapers give access to a short cinematic that either covers a part of the game's overarching plot or a flashback to Phelps' war memories. Near the end of the final desk, Arson, the player assumes control of Phelps's old Marine comrade Jack Kelso, who becomes the protagonist for most of the rest of the game; although different in appearance and personality, he controls identically to Phelps.

The game blends investigative elements such as mystery and crime solving, with fast-paced action sequences, including on-foot and car chases, hand-to-hand combat, interrogations and gunfights.[22] In addition to the storyline cases, the player can work on optional side-investigations known as Street Crimes, which are 40 unassigned cases that are not related to the case that they are working on. The player can travel on foot, as well as in various vehicles. When driving vehicles, the player may drive the full route to the next location, or have their partner drive instead (if the partner drives, the game will automatically skip to the destination). The player also has a total of ten detective suits available; an initial six, plus four downloadable ones. The suits are equipped with special abilities, such as increased damage protection.

When the player is interrogating suspects and witnesses, the player must listen to the story that they give and also must pay close attention to the look on their faces. The player will be given the option to either believe them, doubt them or accuse them of lying. (If the player accuses them of lying, the player must have evidence to prove that they're lying.) If the player interrogates two people at the police station, the player will be able to decide who to charge with the crime. The captain's attitude will tell if the player charged the right person.

Weapons are only allowed in appropriate circumstances and only when a player is working on a case where a weapon is warranted. However, the player is allowed to commandeer civilian cars. The game features a free roam mode called "The Streets of L.A.", which is unlocked on completion of a desk. In this mode, players can solve street crimes, search for gold film reels, landmarks and badges (some of which contribute to 100% completion of the game) or just drive around the city.

Dead Island is probably the most realistic depiction of the inevitable and oncoming zombie apocalypse in video game history. It's typified by desperation, sacrifice, frustration, terror and an overbearing sense of hopelessness.

But there's a catch. Though the zombie apocalypse may occasionally be grimly satisfying or fleetingly triumphant when you survive another night, there's one thing it almost certainly won't be.

Fun.

You're one of four survivors on the island of Banoi, already under siege by the undead when the action starts. (Bizarrely, the other three characters you don't select will always appear by your side during cinematics, though never in the actual game). The four survivors find themselves immune to necrotizing zombieitis (or whatever it's called) and do the only responsible thing: set out across the island looking for (1) a way out and (2) people to help.

Helping people in Dead Island is pretty much always a mission to kill your way to a certain item or person, retrieve it, then kill your way back. So since I just spent a good 20 hours or so killing an infinite number zombies (statistically speaking), allow me to share my expertise.

At first you'll have only a paddle to defend yourself, but as zombies get bigger, faster, angrier and explodier, you'll scavenge everything from machetes and knives to hat stands and sledgehammers. You can spend cash to upgrade your weapons as well as modify them with odd components you pick up around the island like batteries and tubing to give them the potential to paralyze zombies, set them on fire, etc.

You'll find and make a lot of great weapons in Dead Island, but none of them will make you feel particularly safe. For starters, every weapon degrades really quickly and the cost of repairing the really good weapons is extremely prohibitive. So the joy of chop-shocking a zombie with your electro-katana is tempered by the knowledge of how much you'll have to pay to fix it.

Sonic Adventure 2 (ソニックアドベンチャー2 Sonikku Adobenchā Tsū?) is a platform video game developed by Sonic Team USA and published by Sega for the Dreamcast console and the last Sonic game to be released for Sega's console. It was released in North America, Europe, and Japan in June 2001 to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Sonic the Hedgehog series. The game was ported to the Nintendo GameCube and re-titled Sonic Adventure 2: Battle, with brand-new features as well as minor changes in the level design. The original game and content from Battle was released in high-definition on PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade in October 2012. A version for Microsoft Windows was released in November 2012.

The game takes place after the events of its predecessing game: Sonic Adventure. The series antagonist Doctor Eggman releases Shadow the Hedgehog, who joins Eggman and treasure hunter Rouge the Bat to steal the seven Chaos Emeralds. The game's story focuses on the protagonists Sonic the Hedgehog, Knuckles the Echidna and Miles "Tails" Prower as they attempt to stop Eggman and Shadow from collecting the Chaos Emeralds.

The game was a commercial and critical success, receiving generally positive reviews; however, criticism was directed towards its camera system and side characters. Sonic Adventure 2: Battle was less positively received than the original release, but it was a commercial success, selling more than 1 million copies worldwide and becoming the tenth best-selling Nintendo GameCube game.
Gameplay

Sonic Adventure 2 is a platform game in which the player controls Sonic and Shadow the Hedgehog, among others. The game follows the same basic principles of previous games in the series. However, the Tails and Doctor Eggman stages use a health bar which is reloaded by gathering rings. Item capsules are also located within the stages, which provide the player bonuses. Each character has obtainable power-ups which grant them new abilities, such as the ability to destroy metal boxes or play mystical melodies. The player is given a set of lives, which are lost when the character is attacked by an enemy or falls into water or a pit. If all lives are lost at any point in the game, the game is over.

The game can be played between two parallel story lines, the "Hero" story mode and the "Dark" story mode. The player has the option of advancing in either story at any time. The "Hero" story features Sonic, Knuckles, and Miles "Tails" Prower, while the "Dark" story features Shadow, Rouge, and Dr. Eggman. Each dark character plays similarly to its corresponding hero character, respectively. Levels advance in the same order for both story lines. Levels featuring Sonic or Shadow are regular platform levels, designed in much the same way as Sonic's levels in Sonic Adventure.[2] The player's primary objective is to reach the end of the level. Levels with Tails or Dr. Eggman are based on shooting, allowing the player to control a mechanized robot walker and shoot their way to the end, reminiscent of E-102 Gamma's stages in Sonic Adventure. The Knuckles and Rouge levels are based on hunting, with the characters scouring the levels for three keys, usually shards of the Master Emerald, much like Knuckles' levels in Sonic Adventure. Interspersed among the levels are various bosses, which one specific character must fight. The main story line can only be completed by finishing both the "Hero" and "Dark" story lines. When the main story line is completed, an extra "Final" story mode is introduced in which the player must use all 6 characters back-to-back followed by the final boss with Super Sonic and Super Shadow to achieve the true ending.

If the player can complete an entire level, the player is is informed of how well they've done and which letter grade rank is awarded. If the player completes any score-ranked mission with all of the level's rings, an A Rank is automatically awarded.

In Action Stages, players must collect rings and defeat enemies, with a timer counting the time spent within the level. Five missions are assigned to each Action Stage; to access the next mission, the player must successfully complete each previous mission. In order from first to last, the missions are to complete the level, collect 100 rings, find a "lost Chao" using the Mystic Melody, finish within a time limit, and complete a "Hard mode" version of the Action Stage. Special powers are acquired by collecting a certain number of rings; these moves are also seen in the final bosses of the Hero and Dark stories.

Emblems can be collected for each mission. There are 180 in total. Players must complete mission and achieve an A rank in all stages and missions. After collecting all 180 Emblems the player unlocks the 3D Green Hill level, a remake of Green Hill Zone from the original Sonic the Hedgehog game.

In the game's two-player mode, the corresponding characters from the "Hero" and "Dark" stories are able to play against one another in racing levels, shooting levels, and treasure-hunting levels. Stages from the main one-player game are available in this mode, slightly altered for competitive play. The goals for each stage are to defeat the other player by completing a task first: racing levels require the player to reach the Goal ring, shooting levels end when one Walker runs out of energy either by being destroyed by the competitor or falling off the stage, and the treasure hunting levels are won when one character gets two of the three Emerald shards.

Special features in this two-player mode are unlocked by meeting certain conditions in the single player mode. Additional characters include familiar characters from previous games, but they must be unlocked in the original Dreamcast version: Amy and Metal Sonic complement Sonic and Shadow, Chao Walker and either Big or Dark Chao Walker complement Tails and Eggman, and Tikal and Chaos Zero complement Knuckles and Rouge. Alternative costumes are usable only in two player mode and vary in each version of the game, as do the conditions required to unlock the costumes. The costumes are only for the 6 story mode characters Sonic, Shadow, Tails, Dr. Eggman, Rogue and Knuckles.
Chao and Chao World

The animal Chao exist in an area held separate from the rest of the game called Chao World. Chao are meant to be raised and taken care of in the same manner as with human babies. Chao World incorporates three main areas: the Chao Gardens (three in total, but two must be unlocked by the player), the Chao Kindergarten, and the Chao Race Lobby.

The player finds and raises Chao in the Chao Garden. When Chao hatch, they crawl and are unable to swim. They get their nutrition from knocking the fruit off trees. When a Chao begins to grow up, it will eventually go into a cocoon stage in which it will transform. Depending on how each Chao in the garden was raised and treated during childhood, it can become a generic Chao or a Light or Dark Chao. As soon as a Chao transforms, if it has become a Light or Dark Chao, it will unlock for the player the Hero Garden or the Dark Garden, which are vertically positioned in Chao World similar to common Western descriptions of Heaven and Hell. "Chaos Drives" and hidden animals can be found in the action stages and can be given to Chao during childhood to boost the Chao's stats and physical attributes.

The Chao Kindergarten is where the player can take the Chao to have it named, have its health and stats checked, and have it learn new skills. Also, in the GameCube adaptation only, rare items can be purchased at the Black Market using the Rings collected during normal gameplay. The Black Market is also available in Sonic Adventure DX: Director's Cut; in that version, with more game Emblems earned, rarer merchandise becomes available in the Market.
