Happy New Year

I just wanna wish everyone a happy new year. Hope you get everything you want. I went into town for a meal with my friends in the city centre and then we went to see what we thought would be a firework display well let me tell you it was awful and disappointing. We waited out in the cold for 2 hours where we were watching a big screen showing something on the bbc and the fireworks well I think birmingham city council spent £5 on the fireworks because there was barely anything there. Real disappointment.

I'll be putting up a post soon on what I picked up in the sales I didn't pick up too much just bits & bobs.

Anyways looking out the window and it is raining and it just looks miserable so I will be sitting at home in my pyjama's doing all the assignments I was suppose to do in the 2 week break and munching on snacks. Once again happy new year.

I went into a charity shop today and was browsing around and look what I found.

A vintage looking bracelet which only cost £2.50. I love charity shops every time I go to one I find things I like but you've got to look really hard for things.

MUA Nail Polish - shade 23

This is not normally a colour I would go for but I felt like trying out something different. So I bought this MUA nail polish from Superdrug which costs only a quid (£1).

Even though this costs £1 its not so bad because I only applied 1 coat I didn't need to apply 2 coats which is quite surprising considering that this only did cost £1. What I will say though is that the brush for MUA nail polishes are quite bristly so it can be a bit messy other than that no complaints! :)

Hey girls as you can see I've not been blogging recently I've had sooo much going on. When I first made this blog I had finished my academic year and therefore was free majority of the time hence the more posts. Now that another academic year has started my life has been taken over by assignments and everything else that comes with being a student. Can you believe that I am on a computer everyday yet not on it for blogging (I know its terrible). I am going to try to add more posts. I wont be doing hauls coz those will take me forever so what I will do is I will post my thoughts and whatever on individual items I have purchased throughout the period I've been absent from blogging.

Oh and by the way I've cancelled my Glossybox subscription so no more info on that sorry I'll explain to you why in another post.

review: dead dea spa magik salt brushing

This was included in the glossybox for september and can I just say how amazing these are! 2 packets were included in the box and I just love these. They feel amaaaaaaazingg! My mom has been using these aswel she's been using these on her face whereas I've been using it on my body. They smell gorgeous aswel they leave that spa smell in the bathroom. I've never heard of dead sea spa magik before but I'm glad I have I really like their products. They make me feel sooo fresh and happy!

I popped into Debenhams and was browsing around and noticed this. The tub alone costs £13.40 whereas weirdly enough in this bag I got the bag, the lotion, the shower gel and the salt brushing all for £12.50! Now that is a bargain because I checked the prices before that and the original price was £40 then it went down to £20 and now its £12.50 I have to say I'm pretty impressed with that.

I've had a lot going on in my life recently hence the lack of posts.

However I have made a number of purchases in that time and I will review them for you very soon. The digicam is missing so I'll need to get a new one to take the pictures I would take them with my phone but blackberry camera's arent great.

Its that time of month again! Not that one but the other one. Its glossybox time! I recieved my glossybox last week and I'm not guna lie when I heard that there were spoilers I had to check them out. When I saw the spoilers I was kinda disappointed with what was in the box but now that I've recieved the box and made use out of the products I'm not too disappointed, infact I think this is their best box so far. I have decided that rather than reviewing the Glossybox and everything I get in my glossybox at once I will review all items individually.

I managed to use the KMS colorvitality. I actually like it. At first I thought it was something for ginger hair because I read the word ginger and thought oh god what a waste but it's actually not specifically for ginger hair. Anyways I used it and I'm usually not keen on products like this because they tend to make my hair really greasy, YUK!

I am actually impressed with this. It makes straightening my hair so much easier. Usually once I've washed my hair and let it dry naturally and applied heat protection I tend to get really frizzy hair but this thing fights off the frizz and left and my hair looking smooth and shiny (not the greasy shiny) It's like a creamy formula and it feels so light honestly when I apply it on my hair I just can't feel it.Once I've used some heat in my hair thats when I feel it doing it's thing it actually feels quite nice and my hair feels light afterwards and not so damaged. A naughty thing I do at times is I tend not to use heat protection on my hair!! I know it's bad but it happens =/

It smells exactly like baby wipes.

So today I received my second Glossybox which as you can imagine is very exciting! I don't know if its me or its arrived sooner than I expected. Probably because I was sooo excited about my first one and was totally expecting that one I seemed to forget about this one. Well it's here now! The theme for this box is Wash and Glow.

Linda Papadopoulos Lip Rescue Gel

Omg I have to have to review the Linda Papadopoulos Lip Rescue Gel! Sadly I get a cold sore like once every two weeks and to be honest I'm sick of it. Ever since I started using this lip rescue gel I have noticed a huge difference on my lips. They look and feel amazing. I sort of have fish lips and I can never get the perfect pout. Seriously when I wear lip stick it takes forever to apply properly because my lip shape is so odd. This lip gel has improved my lips making them look plumped up healthy and coldsore free. I love it. My mum loves it too she ordered herself one.I'm wearing this on my lips right now :)

I love this range of products from The Sanctuary they just smell soooooooooooo gorgeous and so refreshing. A couple of years ago my aunty bought me a huge bath hamper set and it all included products from this range and my god do they smell lush. I would of bought everything from the range had I not been carrying so many bags at the time. They look big but their actually pretty small and are always in my bag!

My thoughts on the Garnier Pure Active 2 In 1 Tinted Spot Roll On:

This is mainly for spots. However I've been using this as a concealor around my eyes. This is amazing! I have serious problems when it comes to concealors for around my eyes because I have dark circles & it is so hard to find a concealor that doesn't make me look all weird. This is the perfect shade & its like using a liquid concealor around your eyes. It's a roll on so I just roll it around my eyes & blend it in using MAC's 195 concealor brush. Perfect!

My thoughts on the Garnier Skin Naturals PureActive Exfo-Brusher Wash:

Hmmm...I'm not sure what to say about this. I'm sort of in between when it comes to this. Reason being when I've used this on my face it really has made it feel smooth & removed all that muck! It has a sort of bristle brush which looks like it would probably hurt the face but it actually feels amazing! It gets in those area's you can't really get into (around the nose) it feels really nice but it makes my skin soooooo shiny I can't take it. It says it visible reduces shine but I have to disagree with that because I felt as though it made my face even more shinier. When this is finished I'm going to keep the brush & make my own facewash somehow.

Diorshow Waterproof Backstage Mascara

I have come to the conclusion that Dior Mascara's are the best!This is my favourite mascara. I really love it! I love what it does to my lashes. On my eyes my everyday look usually is just a bit of mascara. In the picture above of my eye all I'm wearing is mascara on my eyes & I really do love it. I think it's amazing. The only downfall is its waterrproof "arghh" waterproof mascara's are difficult to remove & the price £22.00 blimeyy. Wayy too much for a mascara but the end result is nice :) I will probably buy this mascara once every 3 years coz its way too pricey! :L

Nars Niagara Lipstick

So this is suppose to be a lipstick? I love this gorgeous,gorgeous colourr. In my opinion this is more of a lipgloss than lipstick it doesn't have that long lasting lipstick look. It's very smooth an nourishes the lips but when I buy lipsticks I expect it to work like a lipstick. It's a sort of pink/peachy shade the best way for me to describe this colour is "cute". It's a very girly girl colourr.

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion

Everyone should own this. Especially those who wear eyeshadows alot. I think that this is an amazing primerr. Most primers are plain and simple and don't tend to have the shimmer that this one does. It definetly makes a massive difference to the eyes & it has that gorgeous glow & guess what this is a real primerr & does last long. Even though I don't use much of this as I don't wear eyeshadow on a daily basis it is pretty small & its a shame cause I don't like paying lotss for something so small but at this point I just couldn't resist :) I saw so many positive reviews on it & I just had to have it :)

On Thursday as soon as I got home I had something waiting for me. It was my 1st glossybox. I was sooooooo excited about this because I feel like I've been waiting for it foreverr.Just before I went on holiday in May beauty bloggerss were all talking about the Glossybox. I was browsing all over the net to see what Glossybox was all about & what was in the box. In the May box the thing that really got me into the whole glossybox hype has got the be the nars illuminator in a reasonable size. As soon as I saw that I subscribed. The glossybox is very in demand at the moment because people who are actually subscribing now are actually having to wait a while because theres so many of us that want one. Today after work I managed to pop into Superdrug & pick up something which I have been wanting to get my hands for a while now. It's the Garnier Skin Naturals PureActive Exfo-Brusher Wash.I've seen some reviews on it but I wanted to use it myself & see how it works for my skin. Especially because my very shiny skin is driving me mad!!

I also picked up the Garnier Pure Active 2 In 1 Tinted Spot Roll On for medium to dark skin which to be honest I didn't really need but it was right next to the face wash so I thought I might aswel try it. So I'll be reviewing that also. Skincare reviews will all be done within a months time.

Rio Rosa Mosqueta Oil review

helloooo, its me again! It's been a while since I've done a post so I've got some more coming up. I think I've already mentioned that I am now doing full time work & boy is it exhausting. My profile looks dull with the lack of posts.

As mentioned in a previous post I was sent a sample of the Rio Rosa Mosqueta Oil which I have been using. It's nearly a month since I started using it but that sample has finished now so I thought I'd tell you all about it.

Sadly I suffer from stretchmarks :( Then again most of us do so I don't feel so bad. My stretchmarks aren't too obvious but they are obvious for me. I can see them appearing slightly but thats mainly because I go looking for them. Anyways thats why I was excited to use the Rio Rosa Mosqueta oil.

About the product

My skin looks exactly the same as it was when I first applied this oil on my skin. The stretchmarks are still there. I don't think the oil has made any difference for them. However when I applied this oil it really did sink into my skin & moisture it alot. I applied it twice a day everyday. I felt like this product thickened my skin & it felt good. However the downfall of course is the fact that I still have my little stretchmarks :( I've only been using this for nearly a month I don't know if it would've made a proper difference had I used it a bit longer. I have no intentions to purchase this item.

Before I went to Turkey I bought 3 lipsticks & here they are.

MAC MOCHA

This lipstick is the exact same colour as the MAC MOCHA in the normal collection. The only difference is the packaging. They didn't have the MAC MOCHA in the normal collection so I ended up buying the lipstick in the Surf Baby collection. This is my everyday casual look lipstick when I can't be bothered to experiment with different looks and when I can't be bothered too brighten up my make-up I stick to this shade. It's a gorgeous brown. My favourite brown lipstick from the MAC collection. It's very much an orangey peachy brown.

MAC TWIG

This was right next to MAC MOCHA. The colours are sooo similar when you look at them. When you swatch this lipstick along with MAC MOCHA they are different. This lipstick is more of a pinkish brown, another everyday sort of casual lipstick.

MAC UP THE AMP

This is not a colour I would usually go for. I love coral lipsticks & light browns. This one was just staring at me & saying "pick me up","pick me up!" I swatched and fell in love the colour. It's a gorgeous very light purple. It's not too "look at my lips lipstick" it's just right & I really do love it. This is the only lipstick in a purplish shade I have.

Today I was sent The Rio Rosa Mosqeuta Oil.

I'm going to start using this today and I'll let you know how it's going. I'm sceptical when it comes to products like this because this seems very similar to Bio-Oil which I used for a long period & sadly it didn't do anything it claimed it would do.

I wont jump into any conclusions with this oil because I haven't used it yet. I'll let you know in a months time whether this has really made any difference. I'm not going to use this on my face at all because I have oily skin as it is & I don't like using oil on my face. I'm going to use this on my body.

we're backk!

we got back on tuesday morning.

We had an incredible time in Turkey. We went to Bodrum and we stayed at the Kervansaraya Resort. It's a 4* star hotel and it's huge. We didn't stay in the actual hotel because there were no rooms available instead we stayed in a bungalow room. The resort itself is on a hill and walking uphill is so painful! There was quite a few of us so we had a large compound. The view from our room was stunning!! I found myself falling over the place in Turkey I tripped almost everywhere. I only got bit by a mosquito once on my arm. I've seen some people covered in mosquito bites, eew!

I had 2 turkish baths while I was in Turkey. They were both so weird it makes me laugh thinking about them. My first one was done by a woman that was weird I had that one in the hotel. I also had a body massage with olive oil and a clay mask, it was bliss. The second one was done by a man and that was in another place in Gumbet. I don't know which one was more weird all I know is that they felt soooooooooooo great afterwards! I made use out of the indoor pool, jacuzzi & the sauna, sadly the steam room wasn't working.I had an incredible holiday. A couple of my turkish friends taught me some of the lingo before I went.

The day we went it was raining heavily here in the UK & now it's hot & the days seem to have gotten even longer. Oh how I love the summer..

We're off to Turkey tomorrow well today....I can't wait. I'm a little worried though, there was a earthquake in Turkey on Thursday :/ & now theres volcanish ash flying around. I remember watching it on the news last year I do not want to be stuck in an airport because the ash has caused everything to go to a standstill. I hope by the time we're back it's all gone.

This is a small post because I'm tired & I have to get up early because I have so many other things to do before I get on that plane.

Revlon ColorStay

This past week I changed the foundation I've been using. I've been using the MAC Mineralize Satinfinish SPF 15 foundation for about a year and half now so I decided to dry out something different. I went into my mums room & found this...

Revlon Colorstay

SPF 6

330 Natural Tan

Combination/Oily skin

I cannot tell you just how much I am loving this. I'm not really too into Revlon cosmetics because I've just not found them too appealing.

This foundation is quite thick. Even though I'm not a huge fan of thick foundations I am happy with this one. It covers everything. I have some dark spots on my face & if foundation doesn't cover it then I use concealor. I don't need concealor with this, apart from some for around my eyes but thats about it. For this price £12.49 you can't go wrong. This is more of a matte finish which everyone with oily skin should opt for including myself :)

I've always struggled with matte foundations which is why I haven't used them so much. Skin can look very uneven if this isn't blended in right. When I first used it my face looked really light & cakey compared to my neck so if you decide to buy this blend it in properly & use a foundation brush (I used the MAC 190 foundation brush). It would have been great if the bottle had a pump it would have been easier to apply and less messier. I'm sure it's something Revlon can look into for the future :)

MAC Prep + Prime Face Protect

I love most MAC products & because I love them so much I buy them. I bought this primer because I really needed a primer & because it's MAC I thought it was going to be one of the best primers. This primer is rubbish. When you use is it feels like a cheap face cream. I used it a couple of times and left it. It's a creamy texture and it smells like out of date milk. Dries up really quickly aswel. It left my make up looking reallychalky. My skin felt so dry when I started using this. Everyone's skin is different so it probably works for some and maybe not for others. It certainly doesn't work for me. I have combination skin.

Gosh Velvet Foundation

I'm not too sure about this. Using this is like putting oil on your face, something I like to avoid as I have very oily skin. I thought this was more serum like but it's very oily and it makes my skin feel heavy and look like I'm sweating too death.

Blusherss

left to right - MAC sheertone shimmer blush sunbasque, MAC powder blush honour

I love these 2 colours. They are great for this weather. Sunbasque is a shimmery orangey blush it looks so gorgeous. From that picture it doesn't look like it gives off the sort of shimmer that MAC honour does but MAC sunbasque gives off a beautiful orange shimmer. It's very similar to MAC peachykeen and also MAC Margin. Everyone should have MAC honour it doesn't look so appealing at first but it's a great powder highlighter. I have stopped using my moon beam for a while & replaced it with MAC honour.

Urban Decay Ammo Eyeshadow

Firstly I am so sorry my palette looks trampy this palette has travelled everywhere with me & along the way it has taken a bit of a beating. My mum bought me this palette from New York. This is the Urban Decay Ammo Shadow Box. The colours are so gorgeous. They have beautiful sprinkes of glitter in them and when I use these I don't need to apply any highligher on my eyelids. Everyone should have one of these palettes the colours are soo gorgeous. I love all 10 colours. Theres all sorts of looks you can do with this palette. This palette is more for the creative make up artists rather than beginners.

Hugo Boss Orange

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....i love this perfume. It's smells like oranges & vanilla i love it! This perfume is a must have I don't usually like perfumes that smell sweet but this is my current favourite perfume. As you can see it's almost finished so if your feeling generous well I would love a second bottle! ;) ;) This was a present and usually when people buy me perfumes I don't like them they always smell weird but this one I love!

Recently my mum told me about a site that offers you great deals where you can enjoy yourself & save some £'s. The site is called kgb deals. I've been making use out of it recently & I am loving it. I bought a deal which I made use out of today. It was a wash, cut & blowdry all for £7.50! I know, amazing right? I usually spend around £30 on my hair so it felt great to save some £'s. It was a much needed visit to the salon & I feel greaaaaaaat :D

Some of the deals are great & some are weird, it depends what your interested in really. x
