It’s a Virtual Baby Shower for Ashley, Andrea, and Sheena and a Post-shower for Aliesha and you’re invited! Yes, you read right, Ashley, Andrea, and I are ALL pregnant and due this Fall and Aliesha just had her baby girl 3 months ago! How exciting is that? There are many days that I wake up – to the demand of 3 very busy boys… and there honestly just is no time to do any thing with my hair. Because I sport a heavier bang, going a day without washing them doesn’t work. They show signs of the grease look – fast. So washing my hair, if I want to style it – requires a wash, every day.

This however does not happen. :) For days that I am in a rush, can’t wash and really don’t want to go for the bang pull back pony day… I like to switch it up and use a hair band type scarf.

Some sort of portable device that you use to browse the web, check emails and of course update your status. For me, having a laptop was a must. Especially once I started my business. Being able to take it with me, was something I knew I wanted.

Traveling with a laptop though requires protection.

I absolutely LOVE decorating and I can get lost scouring Pinterest and design blogs for inspiration. I absolutely love vintage, modern, eclectic, and culturally influenced decor. I love to mix and match them all. In Jayden’s room, I’m still trying to figure out how to add some of everything. I saw a room on Pinterest which served as color inspiration and I just so happened to find tropical bedding that matched perfectly. I used that as a base, put up a tropical mural, and his room started coming together. His dressers are an old Craigslist find… I wouldn’t quite say vintage, but I’m hoping to find him a more funky set.

I want to add some chevron artwork and maybe a tribal mask to his walls. If I’m feeling really creative, I may change his light fixture to something IKEA-esque.

Tea handpicked a few items from their Bali collection and sent them our way for Jayden to wear. I, of course, was impressed by the collection and Jayden couldn’t wait to wear his new digs. The Sukawati Mask Tee looks great layered on top of the Long Sleeve Purity Tee.

I have a thing for tribal masks and the brown/teal color combo, so I loved seeing Jayden dressed in this duo. The Badak Hoodie was another fav. For a few months now, I’ve been on the hunt for vintage/unique/pretty plates to hang on the walls of my kitchen. I love displaying items such as plates as art pieces. Not long ago, I shared a few of these plates on my blog, and now I share the finished product here!

I know that the concept of hanging plates on a wall isn’t a new one, but I like the idea of hanging them staggered or in clusters to give a less uniform, more interesting look. I upped the sentimental nature of this idea with a few of my Great-Grandmother’s china pieces added in.

I found this on Pinterest and thought it was such an adorable idea. I made some for Dustyn’s Preschool Teachers. I put a little drawing from Dustyn and a note from me in the cup along with the little packets to add to water. They really loved them. If you go here they have where you can print the little flags.

I love that this makes a great teacher gift and it is not that expensive. Plus the teachers can you the cups for a long, long time.

I have never really been a huge fan of board games.

I know, I know, this admission probably makes me sound like the worst mother ever.

But, whatever.

I didn’t like them when I was younger. And I don’t like them now.

The kids cheat and fight. Dumb Dad cheats and trash talks. It’s hard to find something that the four year old AND the ten year old can enjoy. And they take FOREVER to end. Unless I cheat too. And,while I’m not above that, I find it an exercise in excess creativity I don’t really have.

Maybe it’s just the type of board games we’ve been playing?!

Recently Blue Orange Games sent us Spot it.

It is a symbol matching game that for some reason my kids, my husband, and I all love to play!

You can’t cheat. There’s nothing to fight over. And it’s appropriate for every member of our family, from the 4 year old on up (although, technically, the game is geared towards kids 7 & up, he is a pretty savvy 4 and has had no problem having a blast with us and this game).

It’s easy to play, doesn’t require a lot of set up, doesn’t take FOREVER to finish, so it’s no wonder that we love, love, love it.

It’s even perfect for road trip fun in the back seat because all you need is the cards and, um, eyes!

I went online to check out some of Blue Orange’s other gaming options and honestly, they make so many perfect titles for my Dudes.  So many of their games are active, noisy, and filled with the kind of fun my boys were made for!
