October 2011 Fashion Cravings

I love October! Not just because it is my birth month (Libra's rock) but it's the transition time for fashion. The air is getting crisper thus it is time to add on warmer pieces to your summer flare. Here are some of the fashion items I am totally craving for this month.

1. Cardigans are a must for Fall. This one I particularly love because of its vibrant purple color and lightweight construction. For someone who lives in a tropical climate like me, the weather does not get cold enough to warrant use of heavy jackets. A cardigan like this offers just the right amount of protection for our brisk tropical nights. For those living in colder weather, you can overlay a heavier jacket (wool or leather) to help keep you warmer.

2. Leather jackets are resilient and can provide much needed warmth when the temperature drops. As stated previously they are awesome to layer with a cardigan or sweater. I love the look of this leather jacket because it maintains a polished feminine feel. It can look good either in the office or for a night out on the town.

3. I know most of you must think I am crazy for including floral shorts on my October Fashion Cravings but there is a method to my madness. Now is the perfect time to wear these floral shorts before it gets too cold. Pair the shorts with solid tights in a complimenting color. The tights will offer protection for your legs and bring out the wonderful pattern to the shorts. Wear them with your favorite boots or wedges.

4. I cannot say how much I want a pair of bright red wedges. I absolutely fell in love with them when I visited our local Aldo. Red is a perfect color for Fall and can provide you a nice pop of color when the rest of your outfit is tame. Be bold and pair it with some red lipstick.

5. Bib necklaces were all the rage for Fall 2011 runway shows. Accessories are a great way to introduce trendiness to your look without breaking your budget. I love this piece from Forever 21. It's eye catching and will compliment either a casual or formal look. And the best part is it's only $10!

6. Patterned leggings are another way to help keep your legs warm but still add some funkiness to your look. You can wear them alone or layer a mini skirt on top. Ladies with slender legs look better with larger patterns and full figured ladies (like myself) should go for a smaller pattern.

7. The brown satchel is a great inspired and practical piece for Fall. It's a great purse to rock on casual wear work days or for a day of fun shopping with friends. It'll hold all of your essential items (wallet, makeup bag, cell phone, etc) and still have room for your sweater or jacket if it gets warm.

So ladies, there is nothing wrong with taking some time in the morning to apply a little makeup. When you looked polished, you feel confident and confidence can help bring out all the great things you know.

It's Been Too Long

Dear Shellbelle's World,
I am so sorry for my utter lack of care these past 9 months! I can't believe my last post was back in October 2010! I know I know you have suffered serious neglect but that doesn't mean I wasn't thinking of things to post. I was honestly just being lazy or too busy (planning a wedding can be time consuming). I have missed posting and doing videos. It's one of things that can bring sanity to my sometimes crazy life. So I promise never again to abandon it in this manner again.

With that said I have been thinking of all new posts and a new direction that I want to take the blog. Of course I am still going to post about makeup, fashion and other fun things but the posts are going to be geared towards not just fun but also positive change. I truly do want to help others and for me nothing is more rewarding than doing something positive. Over the past few months I've been doing some research on how to create changes that help transform not only a person's outside but inside as well. Remember true beauty comes from inside and if we aren't happy inside, the outside won't matter. It's really helped me address not only my skin issues but health issues as well. I am really excited about all the new things I have planned. I truly hope you to tune in for it!!

What’s your preferred line of makeup brushes? What’s in your necessity/travel kit? What’s the best deal? Should I save or slurge on brushes?

Questions on makeup brushes are some of the most frequent ones I receive. Brushes to me can be the difference between your makeup looking flawless or streaky. Like any good artist you need to not only invest in your materials but also your tools. The key thing to remember with brushes is to spend your money smartly. You don’t need mucho dinero or buy 100’s of different brushes to apply your makeup beautifully. Here are my recommendations for what brushes to get:

STIPPLE OR POWDER BRUSH (Foundation & Powder)

These two types of brushes are absolute must haves in my makeup kit. Both brushes are multiplayers that I consistently use every time I apply makeup. In addition to using it to apply liquid and cream foundation, I use the stipple brush to apply cream moisturizers, primers, powders, blush, and bronzer. One of my favorite uses for the brush is to apply blush. It applies the blush so shear that it gives me just the right amount of glow to my face without looking streaky . The stipple brush I use is MAC’s no. 187 brush. It is a splurge at $40 but for me it was well worth it because I use it every single time I apply makeup. The powder brush is an awesome tool if you are like me and use mineral foundation. I pretty much use mineral foundation 90% of the time when I apply my makeup so this brush is indispensable. I also use it for applying powder and building intensity for blush. I honestly have a variety of powder brushes that I use but right now I really love Jane Iredale's flat powder brush. If you had to pick one, pick one based on what type of foundation you use.

TAPERED ROUND EGE BRUSH (Eye shadow)

I love this brush because you can precisely apply eye shadow all over your lid and use it to create definition at your outer corner and crease. The shorter dense hairs allow you to really pack on your product and create saturated colors for your eyes. It also allows you to go more sheer just by changing your technique of applying it. I personally use MAC's no. 239 brush but Ecotools has a comparable one for a lot less.

BLENDER BRUSH (Eye shadow)

This brush is a must must have for any person who wants their makeup to be polished and not streaky. I use this brush to blend out colors along my crease line, outer/inner corners and I love to use it to apply highlighting color on my brow bone. Without this brush I would not be able to apply multiple colors on my eyes and create soft blended lines. I personally use MAC's no. 224 brush and it is worth every penny. I still have my original blender brush from years ago!

FLAT THIN ANGLED BRUSH (Eye liner/Brow Powder)

If you want to apply your eye liner like a pro I highly recommend getting a flat thin angled brush. This brush allows me to precisely apply any gel or liquid liner to my face. I can make the line as thin and as close to the lash line with this baby. Great for achieving that natural look. This brush is multi-purpose as well because in addition to applying liner you can use it to apply brow powder. My angled brush is MAC's no. 208.

As for my favorite line of brushes, obviously I do love MAC's brushes because they are well made and they last a very long time with the proper care. I recommend anyone who applies makeup all the time or wants to do it professionally invest in these brushes. Click on the Shop Style icon to find out the brush prices as well as where to get them. However if those brushes are out of your price range at the moment, I recommend using Ecotools brushes. You can get a great 5 piece set for only $11 at CVS pharmacy. The brushes are well made and the bristles are so soft. I used in my first tutorial (Back to School) and it applied makeup very nicely. It's a great starter or travel set.

Summer has ended (even though the weather is still scorching) and it is time for fall. Time to make the switch from bikinis, light fabrics and flip flops to layering, warm fabrics and boots! I love this transition time because 1) I love cooler weather 2) I am a big fan of layering and 3) I can use the fashion items in this period even though I live in Hawaii. I just adore the trends for fall and started to crave them while I was in Korea. The department stores there had such great pieces and here are some of my most favorite ones:

Faux Fur Vests – I didn’t get a chance to buy a vest in Korea because unfortunately all the cute vests were made of real fox fur or mink. I own a little fox like doggie and to have a vest that looks like her would just be too much guilt for my poor conscious. However I’ve been doing some searching and many of the designers for this season used faux fur for their lines. Even the great Karl Lagerfeld opted for faux fur for his Chanel Fall 2010 line. Layer this vest with a long sleeved shirt, jeans, sky high pumps, big accessories and you can have your own Rachel Zoe moment.
Leather Shorts – I love the style of leather shorts the designers are coming out with. It is just the right mix of feminine and edgy without looking import model/stripperish. Pair it with tights , suede booties, cream feminine top, and cardigan or oversized blazer and you’ll become the girl next door with a little spice.
Sequin Jackets – Sequins are always a tough one because too much of it, you end up looking like a Vegas show girl. If the design is dated you can look like an ajima (old lady). Good thing designers have taken note and done sequins the right way. They are using muted sequins in dark colors with modern designs. The result is just the right amount of flash that can be worn day or night.
Thigh High Boots – Normally when one hears “thigh high boots” they automatically picture a lady of the evening but it doesn’t have to be that way. Style it right and these boots can sex up an outfit without making it look cheap. Just remember to stay away from plastic vinyl and opt instead for muted leather and suede. I found a pair at the BCBG outlet and it is just awesome. It is distressed black faux leather with a top flap you can wear up or fold down. Wear them with confidence and no one dare stand in your way.
Trench Coats – Trench coats are a great weather transition piece because it offers protection from the elements without being too heavy. Perfect for fall and spring. I love Burberry’s trench coats but unless I hit the lottery or get a sugar daddy I won’t be rocking one of their trenches any time soon. I really can’t afford the $1,989 price tag. Yikes! Instead I found a similar trench for much less at ASOS for $135. The camel color is spot on for Fall 2010 and is flattering to any figure.
Statement Rings & Red Lips – Of course I had to mention cravings for accessories and makeup. Right now I love unique cocktail rings. I especially fell in love with this panther ring from Rachel Roy. While it may be all rhinestones the design of the ring keeps it modern and fun. Don’t need any bracelets when you are rocking this baby. It functions as its own statement piece. As for makeup I just love crimson lips. Red is one of my favorite colors and fall is the perfect time to wear it.

Think Pink – 25th Anniversary of Breast Cancer Awareness Month

When you think of October, the color pink normally does not come to mind but it should. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and everyone should think pink! This October 2010 marks the 25^th Anniversary of BCAM and the need for awareness, detection, treatment and a cure is still necessary as ever. Excluding cancers of the skin, breast cancer is the most common cancer among women. Hawaii alone had the highest incident rate of breast cancer in the country between 2002-2006. And cancer in general is the second leading cause of death for women in America. I personally know one person whose was diagnosed with breast cancer and it is not something to take likely.

While statistics may seem daunting there is good news. Mortality rates nationwide are in decline due to early detection and treatment. So remember ladies do your monthly breast checks and women over 40 should get their annual mammograms. Squish them boobies! While it is wonderful we are getting better at detecting and treating, we still need to find a cure. That’s why it’s wonderful many businesses are joining in the fight for the cure. 2010 Komen Hawaii Race for the Cure – Sunday October 17, 2010

Ladies (and gentlemen too) put on your running or walking shoes and join this fun 5K (3.1 miles) run/walk race. We are all supposed to get our daily exercise and what better way to do it than to do it for a noble cause. Up to 75% of the net proceeds from the Race will go to fund local area breast cancer education, screening, and treatment programs and at atleast 25% will help fund the Susan G Komen for the Cure Award and Research Grant Program. What I love about this race is if you don’t know someone who has been touched by this disease you will after you participate in the race. Survivors and families who have lost loved ones to the disease participate in the event and it is just sobering to see how many people’s lives have been affected by this disease. Back From Korea w/ Tons of Goodies (Part 1 - Makeup & Skin Care)

Hey Everyone,
I made it back from Korea! Seoul and Busan are both amazing cities, each with its own character. If I were to pick between the two I would definitely choose Seoul because inside this island girl's heart is that of a city slicker. :) I just loved how using public transportation was so easy and it got us around to all the major spots in the city. There is just so much to see and do, a big benefit of living in a huge metropolis. The food of course was incredibly delicious and inexpensive. Susan and I took many pictures of our wonderful meals. But I know everyone is waiting for my breakdown on the shopping and makeup. I LOVE shopping in Seoul. Whether it be for clothing, makeup, house hold good, etc Seoul has so much to offer with so many places for you to shop. It took Susan and I a couple of days to hit up the major shopping areas.

First up is my makeup breakdown. As many of you know I am huge fan of Korean skin care and makeup lines. Majority of the products I use come from Laneige , a Korean skincare/makeup company. I didn't pick up any staples from Laneige because the places we found it at didn't carry the complete Sensitive line. Plus there wasn't much of a price difference between purchasing it on yesstyle.com versus in store. The next store we hit up was Etude House. Susan and I both love Etude House for facial masks, lotion, eye shadow and nail polsih. Their prices are very reasonable and the products are good quality. I picked up a staple there for my makeup bag i.e. the Proof 10 liquid liner. This has got to be one of the best liquid liners around and I use it on the regular. I also picked up some fun nail polish colors as well. Hey for $4/bottle you can't go wrong.

We also visited Tony Moly, Skinfood and the Face Shop. Tony Moly came out with an Ice Queen line and I think I may have found another staple to my skincare routine. This line is said to be very good for sensitive-red prone skin. Perfect for someone like me who has rosacea. I bought their Ice Queen Green Tea Cooling Pack and Multiplay Creme SPF30.

The line actually has two other products a Tropical Moisturizing Mask and Whitening Mask but both had too strong fragrances for my taste. I've tried the Green Tea pack and I think I am falling in love with it. It really took the redness away and made my skin very soft.

I haven't tried the Multiplay Creme yet but if it lives up to the product hype I will no doubt love it as well. It is so supposed to protect your skin from free radicals, UV rays, calm any redness, brighten the skin and moisturize...no one it is called Multiplay ;)

I also purchased Tony Moly's Shimmer Love Cube in Pink. It reminded me of Bobby Brown's color block but it is much less expensive. Tried it out in the store and it really gave my cheeks a nice soft glow. At the Face Shop, I found an awesome iridescent quad brown eye shadow. I used it up in Korea and every one loved the colors.

Pink and Brown - Such Pretty Colors!

The other skin care item I purchased was Skin Food's Rice Scrub Mask. Bubz Beauty recommended it alot on her youtube videos and I thought why not give it a try. I tried it out and it really helped relieve the congestion my skin had after being in the horrible Korean humidity. It wasn't at all abrasive and left my skin feeling clean but still moist. I will definitely keep using it to see if it really works and if it does it will become another staple for me.

As for the makeup trends in Korea, Korean woman love to rock the "No-Makeup" makeup look for the day time. It's all about having beautiful, fair glowing skin and wide awake eyes. This means the following:
1. Using foundation sparingly. Only cover problem areas.
2. Enhance cheeks with soft pink or peachy shimmer blush to get that glow.
3. Add a little bit of white or off white iridescent shadow to the top and bottom inner corners of your eyes to attract light.
4. Tight line your upper lash line to fill in gaps. Don't make it defined.
5. Curl lashes and use dark brown volume waterproof mascara.
6. Brush eye brows and use clear gel to set it.
7. Finish the look with using a light gloss or in my case I used rosebud salve for the lips.

When they go out at night or if you are a pop star, they love smokey eye or cat eye look. Majority of the videos and music performances we saw on TV showed their pop stars love both looks. It is on trend with what is going on for Fall and Winter.

Leaving On A Jet Plane - Korea Bound!

To All My Lovely Readers,
I will be in Korea vacationing and getting the latest on Korean fashion and makeup for the next two weeks. If any of you love watching K-dramas as much as I do then you know the Korean chicas have mad style. I'll be sure to take plenty of pictures (praying my camera doesn't go on the fritz again) and will have lots to post about once I get back. Also when I get back, I promise to post the tutorials for Leona Lewis "I Got You" makeup look and the 50s/60s Lady look. Sorry it has taken me so long to post. I'll be sure to make it worth the wait.

I just recently highlighted my hair and noticed that lately my hair has been feeling really dry. What styling products do you recommend in order to make my hair soft and shiny but doesn't weigh it down?

Dear Reader,
Anytime you highlight hair it will suffer some damage? In order to repair/protect you hair start by treating it during the cleaning/moisturizing phase. I recommend finding a good moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. I personally use Noevir's Tokara shampoo and conditioner. It works really well and doesn't leave my hair feeling heavy. I also recommend deep conditioning your hair once a week. I use Noevir's Tokara deep conditioner but I have also used Garnier's Fructise and find it works just as well. If you still feel like your hair is a little dry after you have cleansed and moisturized, you can use a leave in gloss serum. I love Fredrick Fekkai's Gloss. It's very light and makes your hair look marvelous. I put just a dime to quarter size amount from the middle of my damp hair to the tips. I let soak in for a few minutes and then blow dry. Hope this helps! If anyone else has a different routine or different products they have found works for them, post it here.

The clothing I wanted to use pieces that are very comfortable to wear but still fun. Of course I had to use Jeggings and Motorcycle jeans because one of the big Fall trends is jeans in different varieties. For the first look I paired the dark wash jeggings with a loose fitting raspberry tank top, black tube top, wide black belt, grey cardigan, low heel black booties and gold accessories. Keep the heels very low for school. You are going to be doing a lot of walking around and 5"-6" stilletos are not the smartest choice. The cardigan is great transition piece for summer to fall because it is not too heavy but still offers protection if the day gets a little chilly. As for the accessories again keep it simple. I layered to two small gold necklaces with gold hoop earrings and Kimi is wearing her own bracelet.

For the second look, I went with a little more edge. I paired the motorcycle jeans with a fitted white tank top, pinstripe vest and the same black booties and gold accessories. I loved the motorcycle jeans because they fit like a dream and provide a little edge to your wardrobe while not getting too crazy. Plus the contrast of the white with dark gives an illusion of the smaller waist and hips.

This look was Kimi's favorite for the day :)

Unique Fashion Blog - New Dress A Day

Yahoo did an article today on the wonderful blog of Marisa Lynch. If you didn't catch it you are missing out on one of the most unique fun fashion blogs on the web. Inspired by the move Julie & Julia, Marisa decided to embark on her own 365 day challenge. Her challenge is to make a dress for a $1 a day for 365 days!! Yes folks that's right a $1 a day! She is taking dresses she finds at flea markets, vintage stores and turning them in to one of kind beautiful fashion pieces. I love how her creations can look very trendy but the original dresses came from a previous era or are (let's just say it) fugly. Goes to show that you don't need to have a huge bank account in order to be trendy. In fact she noted that now that she makes her own clothing she gets a lot more compliments on her wardrobe. Here is one of my favorites:

My Skin Care Essentials

A few weeks a user on myspace (yes myspace) emailed me to ask me what were my skincare secrets. Apparently he thought I had wonderful perfect fair skin and wanted to know how I got it. I told him he was too generous in his compliments but I did appreciate him noticing. My skin is not perfect but I do take pride in keeping it in the best shape possible. To keep my skin in its best shape I follow these simple steps twice a day:

1. Cleanse - I use La Mer Gel Foaming Face Cleanser. It is so gentle but yet removes all the oil, dirt and makeup. I like it because it gets my skin clean without it feeling tight or dry. I apply one pump to my fingers and get it to lather. Then I gently massage the lather all over my face and neck for about 15 - 20 seconds. I follow it by rinsing with lukewarm water. Hot water is a definite no-no because it will dry out your skin. If you suffer from rosacea like me, hot water will not only dry out your skin but it will make your skin more irritated and red.

2. Apply Acne/Rosacea Topical Gel - Most people would say toning would be their second step but since I have rosacea my skin is very sensitive to toners (even ones meant for sensitive skin). Instead I use my prescription strength acne/rosacea topical gels. I use Metrogel in the morning and Accuzone in the evening. I rub it all over my face gently and let it absorb in for a few seconds before I apply the next step.

3. Apply Serum - I use Laneige's Sensitive Essence as my serum. It helps to combat the redness and dryness that can develop from sensitive skin. I apply 1/2 a pump to my fingers and I rub my fingers together to warm up the product. I then gently pat it all over my face and concentrate a little more on the areas that suffer the most from rosacea i.e my cheeks, nose and the area around my mouth.

4. Apply Moisturizer - I use Laneige's Sensitive Emulsion as my moisturizer. It is very light and again combats redness and dryness. I apply one pump to my fingers and rub my fingers together to warm up the product. I gently pat it all over and my face until it is fully absorbed.

5. Apply Eye Care Cream - I use Laneige's Perfect Renew Dual Touch Eyes. It has one cream for day and another for night. I love the fact that the day cream has SPF 25, prevents sun damage and keeps the eye area hydrated. The night time cream penetrates deeply to give smoothness to the eyes and give elasticity. I use only a very small amount and I spread it all around the eye area with my ring finger. I like to dab rather than rub in as pulling at the eye area only weakens the elasticity which leads to wrinkles.

6. Twice A Week Mask - I use two different masks. One is an exfoliator (La Mer Refining Mask) while the other helps to hydrate the skin (Laneige's Water Bank Sleeping Mask). I use them on different days atleast 3 days apart. I like the Refining Mask because it really helps to remove the fine lines and dry skin. The Sleeping Pack is great because it is very light gel that gives your face a nice radiant glow in the morning. Not to mention it has soothing smell which helps with sleep.

7. Every Day Apply Sunscreen in The Day Time - I work out in the sun every day and I need to make sure my skin is protected. If I don't I will get burned, sun spots, wrinkles, etc. Plus for me my rosacea will act up and I will have a bad acne break out. For my facial sunscreen I love La Mer's SPF Protecting Fluid because it has SPF 30 and it is so light it doesn't leave my skin feeling like I have sunscreen on. When you first apply it your skin will look shiny but let it absorb in to your skin for a 10- 15 minutes and majority of the oiliness will go away.

Makeup Inspiration - Rihanna Love The Way You Lie

I love the makeup look Rihanna is rocking in Eminem's new video for "Love The Way You Lie". It's a smokey purple eye, light pink cheeks and lips. Purple is the in color for Fall and compliments almost eye color. Below are the steps and products I used to achieve this look:

Products:

1. Smashbox's Photofinish Primer (sensitive), MAC 191 Brush, MAC's Fast Fixx for Eyes.

2. Revlon Creme Shadow 740 Seashells 11 (taupe), MAC 242 Brush

3. MAC Eye Shadow in Graphology (matte). MAC 239 Brush, MAC 224 Brush

4. Too Faced Soft & Sexy Shadow Collection (lap dance). MAC 224 Brush

5. MAC Eye Shadow in Vanilla (matte), MAC 224 Brush

6. Stilla's Eye Liner in Black

7. Jane Iredale Pure Pressed Base (Warm Sienna), Jane Iredale Handi Brush, Jane Iredale S2O Spray

8. MAC 265 brush

9. Shu Uemura Eye Lash Curler, Diorshow Waterproof Mascara (090)

10. Anastasia's Brow Powder in Brunette, Anastasia's Brow Clear Gel

11. Tarte Blush in Hibiscus, Too Faced Naked Eye Collection (Pink Cheeks), MAC 188 Brush, Laneige Sliding Pack Powder

12. Maybelline Lipstick in Pink Sand (005), Etude House Juicy Pop Tube (12)

Steps:

1. Prime face and eyes using a flat foundation brush or if you don't have a brush you can use hands. Just make sure they are clean.

2. Using a flat stiff eye shadow brush place a taupe cream shadow from the lid to just below your brow bone. Use your finger to blend the color.

3. Then take a short eye shader brush and place a matte dark purple on your lids to just above your eye's natural crease. Becareful to tap off any excess from your brush before placing it on your eye lids. You don't want excess shadow falling below your eye or on your cheeks. When placing the shadow make sure to pack it on and create an angled shape at your outer corner. Take a blending brush and blend the line. Becareful not to over blend the line out.

4. Now blend a light metallic purple color from the inside corner of your eye to the center of your eye ball. You want to high light the inner corners in order to make your eyes pop.

5. Once you've blended the colors take a flesh tone matte color and high light the area under your eye brow. You can also use this color to help blend the purple if you are having trouble softening the edges. Brush off any excess shadow from under the eye or on top with a big powder brush. If you do have some smudges just dip a Q-tip into some eye make up remover and gently remove the unwanted portions.

6. Take a black eye liner pencil and gently line your upper water line. This is known as tight lining. It helps to create a defined lash line.

7. At this point I like to apply foundation. Use a matte foundation. In my case I used mineral compact foundation and I applied with a flat handi brush. Make sure to blend your foundation from your jawline down your neck. You don't want it to look. streaky. Conceal any acne or discolorations. I actually prefer to use a concentrated application of my foundation to conceal my imperfections. I shot my concealer brush with Jane Iredale's D2O spray. I then load up my brush with the foundation, pat it on the problem area and blend out the edges. Once I am done concealing I mist my face with the D2O spray to help set the foundation.

8. Going back to the eyes, line the lower water line with the same black pencil. Then just under the lower lash line, line it with the same matte purple eyeshadow. Use a thin angled brush. Then take the same light purple metallic shadow and line the inner corners of your lower lash and water line.

9. Curl your lashes and apply 2 coats of a black volumizing mascara. Be sure to fan the lashes out on the outside corners of your eyes. I didn't get a chance to add false eye lashes but it is essential to the look. In the video Rihanna's lashes are very full, long and curly at the ends.

10. Take a angled brow brush and blend in your brow powder. Your brow color should be a 2 to 3 times lighter than your hair color. I like to start blending the color at the midway point and work my out. This helps to create an even application. Once your finished with placing your brow powder set your brows with a clear brow gel.

11. Now for blush, apply a light matte rosey pink color to the apple of your cheeks with a blush brush. You want to just give a hint of color since the main focus of this look are the eyes. Take an iredescent blush and place on the high points of your cheeks. You want to bring them out and give a little glow to your matte skin. Once my blush is done I like to just dust my face really quick with a powder. This will help to set the foundation and if you feel your blush is to intense this will help to bring the intensity down.

12. Top of the look with a light pink lipstick and gloss.

The flash drowned out the color. Still trying to work out the technical kinks. :)

Fashion Obsession - BCBG's Color Block Dress

I am in love....no in fact, I am actually obsessed with this dress. I tried it on at the BCBG store in Ala Moana and since then my fashion mind has not been the same. It has become consumed with thoughts of this dress and oh how wonderful we would be together. At first, I didn't think it would like me because of my figure flaws but it accepted me...no better, it welcomed me and made my body look hot. This dress is a work of genius with the looks of Venus. The color blocking pattern and material will give anyone a great slimming effect. The varying shades of blue are so money with my fair skin. It's oh so sexy without showing a lot of skin. But alas like all great passionate romances it couldn't last forever and drama ensued. Just as I was about to take the relationship to the next level (i.e. purchase the baby), I looked down and saw the price tag. Yikes, $248.00! I may be a fashionista but I am also an economic realist. That one little yet significant flaw shook me out of my drunken love haze and tearfully in my heart I had to place it back on the rack. Although we never made it out of the store together, I still can dream that one day we will be together again. And in my dream I would style it with some sexy nude pumps, funky silver and black jewelry and top it off with a ruffle studded clutch....Ahh the perfect clubbing outfit. Dream baby dream.

Easy Breezy Summer Look
