When I first read this I did think WTF?….and I really can not understand why a retail chain would want to move into the Internet Marketing space, I guess not happy with shutting down all the small local stores in small towns now they want to take on the Internet….yeah right!!

The Content analysis summary page within the Diagnostics section of Webmaster Tools features three main categories.

* Title tag issues
* Meta description issues
* Non-indexable content issues

If you select “Duplicate title tags” will give you a list of repeated page titles along with a count of how many pages contain that title. I had one site with a “Short meta descriptions” issue (which is now fixed) and the issue was on one of my wordpress blogs “Just another WordPress weblog”

As Google say “If the duplicate title issues shown are corrected, we’ll update the list to reflect any other pages that share duplicate titles the next time your website is crawled”

Nice little addon to webmaster tools Google.

The funny thing is I’ve done very little in terms of adding content to the site our link building just been working on other projects.

As ever our friend Google was called into action and the first result had everything that was needed.

I’m now armed with Pictures to colour when sitting, Chats for Stars and Certificate’s as an award for doing it.

So what’s the point of this post you may be asking, well I didn’t leave the site everything was on the site I needed and it was the first result for the keyword term that I searched for.

Two simple lessons for site building - Do you offer everything on your site so visitors don’t just leave, keeping their attention is key to driving your profit (if you selling something I guess). Having your site at the top or on the first page is a must if you are serious.

So now we have all this algorithms stuff and link stuff and high quality link vs. a low quality link. So I decided to put together a little guide to help you understand what linking is and focus on specific factors to help you determine what’s the best way to grow your business with links traffic.

We’ll discuss several factors of how to get links such as trading links, reciprocal links, article links, earning links, content links and Press Release links.

A link building campaign should include a little of everything above instead of simply focusing on one method. Over the years I’ve used these methodologies to great affect on my own personal sites and have successfully ranked sites for extremely competitive terms. Again it must be noted that many SEO companies will vary on this idea and have different approaches.

One of the areas they we will look at is numbers. Simply getting 20 or 30 links per months is really an armature approach as the approach should be to build links based on competitors and where they are in the results and how they rank and more importantly “how long” they have ranked for.

We need to look at the industry and the specific factors of links that are being used by each individual industry. So view all competitor’s backlinks via Yahoo Site Explorer and see if you can target those or use software to gain more interesting results. But link building is not just about high volume we need to also keep in mind high quality, which in effect can take time to show the best results.

Now the only problem is getting ranked for some hard keywords against some of the long established companies in Ireland.
