Description:

This project involved designing an interface for a presentation tool used for high level presentations. The presentation complexity required the use of 4 or more screens to display documents and mapping information.

Skills Employed:

Design, UX, IxD

Roles:

Design
The tool was to be used in presentations to upper management. Taking place in a dark room over multiple screens, I opted to go for a darker background to reduce overall eye strain and enhance the presentation of important data.

Interaction Design and User ExperienceI was engaged by people who were implementing the tools and were present for such presentations. They filled me in on how the tool was going to be used, the user expectations and the kind of information that was to be displayed. I designed the tool to use conventions familiar to standard business users. This resulted in the creation of a tool bad akin to Windows, and the use of a compact, tree based navigation structure for the presentation of files.

Skills Employed:

Design, UX, IxD

Roles:

Design
I was given some information on the community, and used that to guide the design of the interface. That information is still confidential.

Interaction Design and User ExperienceI worked alongside subject matter experts and relevant stakeholders to design the various interactions. They provided me with the desired input and highlighted the goals of their urban design exercises on which I based the design. There is an algorithm that drives the generation of the charts.
