Plans are coming along nicely in preparation for the 1st Friday Art Walk in Down Town Issaquah, just 2 weeks away!

That’s August 6th from 5p to 9p at Confetti Cupcakes, 94 Front St N.

My photographer friend, Wendy Grace had just the right double panel hinged display board for me – it will be like having a little portable mini store! I should be able to hang 6 or more of my larger paintings on it.

I’ll have 10 each of 8 paintings already made up as 5×7 Notecards, with the option to order any out of the 52 paintings in my sample book (same as the scrolling Art Gallery you see here on this website). I picked up a sample card and let me tell you.. these are premium!.

Actually, you can order from any of my paintings (!) if you happen to see one that hasn’t made it to Bellevue Fine Art Reproductions yet. Remember, you can order any size of Fine Art Giclee, up to the size of the original.

For a special treat, we’re experimenting with printing on silk (scarf sized) and cotton – I can’t wait to see them!

Great news! As the icing on the cake (so to speak, I mean taste!) of my birthday celebrations last week, I got invited to show my art at the Downtown Issaquah’s 1st Friday’s Art Walk!

That’s August 6th from 5 to 9 pm at Confetti Cupcakes at 94 Front Street, just a few doors north of Jak’s Grill (way excellent steak!)

I’ll be bringing several 16″ by 20″ originals, and a few larger as well. You’ll be able to grab some notecards at a special intro price – $5 each, or $20 for 4 – the best deal you’ll find. These notecards are the same high quality fine art giclee reproductions as the larger ones.

And I have numerous 8″ by 10″ giclees on fine art paper that I’ll have on hand as well. Art walk price will be $40, a $5 savings from the usual price.

Come stop by and say hi! So looking forward to it!

The Art Gallery got a fresh infusion of new paintings – it more than doubled in size today! One painting got overlooked, however, so I am featuring it here in all its glory.

Often I will rotate a painting while I’m working on it, and sometimes I will like it just as well turned sideways or even upside down. This is one I like in two positions.

Let me know what you think of this one – it’s definitely got a vibrancy that cannot be denied!

Okay, I let the cat out of the bag.. I’m having one of my famous impromptu art shows this Saturday most likely (gotta sign up the room first!).

And this in conjunction with the great unveiling of over 30 “new” to giclee paintings.

Some of these you may have seen on my Facebook art page, taken with my Blackberry (huge difference in resolution). Some of them I painted awhile ago, but haven’t displayed yet. And one is a joint effort with my granddaughter, Georgia!

It’s true! I’m cooking up a cool prize winner of a contest to spotlight this new art being added to my repertoire – and just in time to celebrate my birthday!

Watch this space here on my art blog for the 30+ new paintings being added to the Giclee Collection – that makes over 50 to choose from.

BIG news – note cards are now available!!! The birthday drawing will be taken from the names of all who pre-order a 4 pack of note cards…. More details to follow soon.

My apologies for the glitches still being worked out here at Sheryl Brown Art!

As you can see.. I’m more creative than technical..! ;D

However, I’ve got some technical people on the project, so we should soon see some of this begin to smooth out.

Ah yes, in life we are always a work in process.. and I hope progress too!

Here’s a new painting I did recently that gives off a cool, icy, spartan feeling – no fluff.

“I am the Moon” is painted with acrylics on an 8″ by 10″ canvas using a pale aqua, white and a bluish violet slate color.

The basic effect is a steep mountain crevasse/crevice with a pale but vibrant sky above and a hint of the moon, large and luminous.

Do write and tell me how you feel when you look at this painting.
