Two days ago Twitter rolled out their “You Both Follow” feature and if you are a regular reader of my blog, you would remember that I talked about this way back about a month ago on July 4th before it was released and I said it was going to be wonderful and so far it is and I haven’t been disappointed .

If you don’t know what the “You Both Follow” feature does, it lets you know the people you and another Twitter user follow in common, like friends you both follow. Just like the “Mutual Friends” feature on Facebook, if you are a Facebook user you’ll get what I’m talking about . The “You Both Follow” feature shows you these friends even if you are following that person or not, so far as you are on the another Twitter user’s page, the “You Both Follow” feature will appear in the person’s sidebar. It only works on another person’s Twitter user page. It doesn’t work on the Twitter homepage or your own profile page.

So that’s all for now and so far I’m enjoying it . I’m also enjoying the “Who To Follow” feature too cos it’s really opening my eyes to many interesting and unique Twitter users that I didn’t know about and I said the “Who To Follow” feature can be a great way for everyone on Twitter to get lots of followers and also gain exposure at the same time .

With the “Who To Follow” feature, seems not everyone has got their share yet. I’ve got mine on @ShirleyOM but TechSheriff’s Twitter account hasn’t got it’s yet.

Has anyone got their share of the “You Both Follow” feature and the “Who To Follow” one too?

I was just going through the keywords that my site is being found by through Google and found this keyword “How To Unfollow On Digg” and so I decided to provide an answer here. Even though I’m not all that surprised to see someone searching for such a thing, I must admit it’s somehow surprising but no question is silly or stupid. Every question is important cos it’s a problem someone is having .

The unfollow feature of Digg can only be found on the Digg v4 Alpha and not on the Digg v3 so you must be on the new Digg to have access to this feature. To cut all long talk short, lets get on to the answer, that is the tutorial .

How To Unfollow On Digg

• To unfollow someone on Digg, that’s the new Digg, go to either your followers or following. You can do this by going to the top of any Digg page and you’ll find the links to both pages there.

• On either of both pages, go to the particular user you want to unfollow and then click the “Unfollow” button besides the person’s name. Then that’s all . Easy as breathing and if that’s not easy, then as easy as blinking an eye .

One of the great features that Digg included in the new Digg v4 Alpha is the “Import Feeds” feature. This feature lets you submit the feed of your site or blog to Digg so that you don’t have to individually submit your site’s post to Digg. So whenever your blog is updated that means your feed is also updated right? Then the feed post that particular new post to Digg for you .

How To Auto-Submit Your Content Feed To Digg

Auto-submitting your content feed to Digg is very easy, okay at least to me. You provide your feed’s url to Digg, then Digg gives you a verification key which you have to put into your feed and to do this means you have to create a blog post or an article with the verification key in it and then it will automatically appear in your feed. After this is done you click the “Verify Feed” button on the page you were given the verification key to verify the feed . Then ta daa, you are done .

I don’t think this feature is going to be helpful to all cos if your site or blog is not about one thing and you submit your feed for auto-posting then Digg will auto-post all that is not required to be posted. Say you have a mixed blog and you write about books and pens. Then that means Digg will submit all the posts about books and pens and maybe you just want only the posts about pens posted on Digg and also you don’t want every pen post on Digg. You want some there and you don’t want some there. So if you are in this situation, you don’t want to use the auto-submit content feature. You have to stick with submitting posts individually. So I’m sticking with submitting posts individually with this blog cos it’s not all the posts that I submit to Digg. Some are best fits for Digg and some are not. So that’s what I think currently about this feature.

You don’t need to be a newbie blogger to read that, even if you’ve been blogging since 1979 you can still get something very useful and helpful from the list of articles that he’s compiled from these great bloggers . So it will be a whole lot of good if you pop over there and get a read. You might also get magnetized and stay longer than you should after you finish reading the article cos he’s got so so many great top Top 10 lists that you won’t even know where to start and where to end .

It’s been exactly a month since I got an invite and started talking about the Digg v4 Alpha and the Digg v4 as a whole. And so far it’s been a fun ride. Now Digg is trying to get the new site to be tested as many more people as possible as they are trying to get it ready for use by all the Digg users so they are allowing already testing folks like me to give away invites. So today I’m giving away some invites, yay!!! Jump, jump, jump . I know the geeks will be jumping.

So What Are The Requirements Before You Can Get An Invite?

• You must be a Digg user, obviously, even though some people who are not Digg users might want to get one.

• You must be a regular Digger, not someone who hasn’t Dugg for like months and has dust and papers all scattered around his or her Digg profile.

• You must send me an email with the following info, nothing really personal:

1. A Link To Your Digg Profile.
2. The email you want me to send an invite to.

That would be all . Oh and you can follow me on Digg v4 here, and on Digg v3 you can friend me here .

So if you want an invite contact me via my contact page . I will check all  your profiles to see if they are really valid ones and if you digg regularly.

Don’t sit there till it’s too late cos I’m giving away only 3. They are actually 5 but I’ve saved the other for my followers on the social networks I’m on. I just want everyone to smile and have a share of it . So I’m waiting and the clock is ticking……

Just found out via The Next Web that Twitter has actually reached 20 billion tweets, and I find it really great and amazing cos that’s part of all the things that show that Twitter has come a long way.

They also featured the person who tweeted the 20 billionth tweet and the tweet was actually in Japanese. This is the great tweet . I think it should be put in glass or something . The twitterer who made this wonderful tweet is GGGGGGo_Lets_Go (This is actually his username. His name is actually in something I can’t read, Japanese).

It’s getting to almost 2 months since WordPress 3.0 was released to the public as a stable download. And so far I’ve loved using it. I haven’t found anything wrong with it yet. However, I haven’t tried the WordPress MU integrated functionality in it yet. When time becomes available I might try that one out and see how it goes . I have also tested WordPress MU as a solo before when it wasn’t integrated in WordPress 3.0 and it was great, so I know how it runs .

Anyway, WordPress 3.01 is an upgrade to WordPress 3.0 and was released three days ago. And this shows that time really flies cos it’s as if it was just yesterday that WordPress 3.0 got released.

I’ve already upgraded to WordPress 3.01 via my WordPress dashboard through automatic upgrade. You can also do so via your WordPress dashboard if your upgrade is available through your dashboard yet. WordPress 3.01 can also be downloaded manually via the Official WordPress site.

Please note that it’s very very advised and recommended that you always upgrade to a new version when it becomes available or you become vulnerable to hackers and you don’t want to experience how that feels. If you want to experience how that feels you are gladly welcome .

Digg has introduced a new form of their ads, DiggAds in the Digg v4 Alpha. The Digg v4 Alpha started with no ads but now banner ads have been added.

But there’s something new about these banner ads that have been added to the Digg v4 Alpha by Digg. The new banner ads on the Digg v4 Alpha have a digg button integrated below the banner with an attached story or headline. So it makes it look like the banner ad is a kind of breaking news about the certain product and that it just has a banner promoting it.

So I think what Digg is trying to do is blend  their ads as best as they into the new Digg v4 Alpha and also make their ads more attractive to their users as possible. I think it’s a pretty good move by Digg. And I think it’s going to work for them cos if you are interested in cars and you’ll most probably be interested in the car banner ads they are showing with a Diggable (My own English .) story attached.

Also so far I haven’t seen any sponsored Digg stories in the Digg v4 Alpha like the ones which are normally seen on the Digg v3.

Yesterday I was reading Valleywag and saw them do a timeline in relation to the making of Mark Zuckerberg. It’s actually in the form of an infographic. And I find it pretty interesting. It talks about how Mark Zuckerberg started with Facebook and where it is now. You can take a look at the infographic below .

Okay, so if you an avid twitter and/or a twitterholic then you would have witnessed the wonderful problem of not being able to change your Twitter background.

This whole problem on Twitter came along two weeks ago on a Monday. It came with also not being able to upload a profile pic but the profile pic problem thanks to the Almighty has been solved (Not totally though. You get a fat black space below any pic that you upload. How wonderful. Huh?) but seems the background problem is a big guy for Twitter but as always the Goliaths lose so the problem will be defeated by Twitter. But that’s not the question here.

The question is; how long? Like how long is it going to take till the problem is finally finally resolved. Cos it’s really frustrating looking at the same background for a long time.

I have the World Cup South Africa 2010 background on, and it’s been on since June 11th, this year, till now. Even though I was in the World Cup fever, come on, right now I’m out. There’s no more World Cup so I got to get this guy of the ship and get a new guy or something and Twitter won’t just allow it.

You just either get an over capacity error or browser error or something whenever you try to change your background. That Twitter Whale should just watch out cos he risks being murdered cos a lot of people hate him. Just a word of advice for him. So if he doesn’t want to be killed, he should stay away…..seriously .

So for now, I’m stuck with the World Cup 2010 background and so to me the World Cup is still going on. Hope this doesn’t last till Christmas or I’m going to die or something.
