Administrative processes are repetitively required to be regularly reviewed and upgraded. With the increasing use of tele-workers and outsourcing by companies the role of the administrative manager becomes even more necessary than ever before. We therefore have to ensure that all administrative managers are given the essential training required to be able to make the best use of their own technical skills and those of their staff to full potential.

The 1990’s saw most office functions being revolutionized by the improvements in information technology. To keep pace with business changes each individual needs to keep their management skills up to date to ensure their continued employability. Without any doubt, computers have increased efficiency by simplifying operations and further in 21st century we have seen a dramatically increase in web based operation which give the ability for employees to work from remote locations with complete monitoring. Most companies are shifting on web based centralize system which only require few good systems, thus saving much of the cost but placing a much more proficient system. The more committed and happy the staff, the more productive the company.

All companies and organizations are only as good as the people they employ. There will always be a necessity for good administration in any organization; the American government is run by “The Administration”. Installing Asterisk

Most Asterisk configurations are composed of three main packages : the main Asterisk program (asterisk), the telephony drivers (Dahdi), and the PRI libraries (libpri).

If you plan on a pure VoIP network, the only real requirement is the asterisk package, but we recommend installing all three packages; you can choose what modules to activate later. Dahdi required if you are using analog or digital hardware as a timing source.

The libpri library is optional unless you’re using ISDN PRI interfaces, and you may save a small amount of RAM if you don’t load it, but we recommend that it be installed in conjunction with the dahdi package for completeness.

Before installing above 3 packages, following packages had been installed:

linux-source (needed if you are going to recompile the linux kernel)

linux-headers (needed for compiling dahdi)

openssl

ssh

build-essential

libncurses5-dev

you may install above 6 packages using command apt-get e.g.: apt-get install openssl

Obtaining the Source Code

The best place to get source code for Asterisk and its packages is directly from the http://www.asterisk.org web site or FTP server.

The easiest way to obtain the most recent release is through the use of the program wget

Note that we will be making use of the /usr/src/ directory to extract and compile the Asterisk source, although some system administrators may prefer to use /usr/local/src. Also be aware that you will need root access to write files to the /usr/src/ directory and to install Asterisk and its associated packages.

To obtain the latest release source code via wget, enter the following commands on the command line:

# cd /usr/src/

# wget http://downloads.asterisk.org/pub/telephony/asterisk/asterisk-1.8.2.3.tar.gz

# wget http://downloads.asterisk.org/pub/telephony/dahdi-linux-complete/releases/dahdi-linux-complete-2.4.0+2.4.0.tar.gz

Extracting the Source Code

The packages you downloaded from the FTP server are compressed archives containing the source code; thus, you will need to extract them before compiling. If you didn’t download the packages to /usr/src/, either move them there now or specify the full path to their location. We will be using the GNU tar application to extract the source code from the compressed archive. This is a simple process that can be achieved through the use of the following commands:

#tar –xvzf asterisk-1.8.2.3.tar.gz

#tar –xvzf dahdi-linux-complete-2.4.0+2.4.0.tar.gz

#tar –xvzf libpri-1.4.11.5.tar.gz

Compiling Dahdi

This is a simple-to-install 'complete' DAHDI kit for Linux users. It is designed to be a drop-in replacement for users used to building Zaptel 1.2 or 1.4 for their system without specifying any special build options, file locations, or anything else. If you need to influence the build or installation process in any way outside the defaults, you will need to use the installation steps specific to the dahdi-linux and dahdi-tools packages separately (both of which are located in subdirectories of the dahdi-complete package).

To install this package, execute these commands:

# cd /usr/src/dahdi-version

# make all

# make install

# make config

Compiling libpri

The libpri libraries do not make use of the autoconf build environment thus, the installation is simplified. libpri is used by various makers of Time Division Multiplexing (TDM) hardware, but even if you don’t have the hardware installed, it is safe to compile and install this library. You must compile and install libpri before Asterisk, as it will be detected and used when Asterisk is compiled. Here are the commands (replace version with your version of libpri):

# cd /usr/src/libpri-version

# make clean

# make

# make install

Compiling Asterisk

Once you’ve compiled and installed the dahdi and libpri packages (if you need them), you can move on to Asterisk. This section walks you through a standard installation.

# cd /usr/src/asterisk-version

# make clean

# ./configure

# make all

# make install

# make samples

Run the make samples command to install the default configuration files. Installing these files (instead of configuring each file manually) will allow you to get your Asterisk system up and running much faster. Many of the default values are fine for Asterisk.

Running Asterisk

Once you’ve successfully installed asterisk, simply type:

System Requirements

Installation

Insert your installation CD into your CD-ROM drive and reboot the computer. The installation system is started immediately when booting from the CD-ROM. Once initialized, your first screen will appear.

At this point, read the text on the screen. You may want to read the help screen provided by the

installation system. To do this, press F1.

To perform a default server installation, select “Install to the hard disk” and press Enter. The

installation process will be started. Simply follow the on-screen instructions, and your Ubuntu system will be installed.

Ubuntu is one of the few Linux distributions out there that will not enable the root account. If you want to do something with root permission on the console you have to type sudo before the command.

Sudo” means superuser do. “sudo” will prompt for “Password:”. Please specify user password

As you have noticed during the Ubuntu installation there was no question about the root password, as you might have been used to see during other Linux distribution installation process. Because of this your root account is inactive.

If you want to enable root account (which is not recommended) enter the following command.

$sudo passwd root

This will prompt for a new root password and once you confirm it, you can start using the root account to login

Apt-Get

The apt-get command is a powerful command-line tool used to work with Ubuntu's Advanced

Packaging Tool (APT) performing such functions as installation of new software packages, upgrade

of existing software packages, updating of the package list index, and even upgrading the entire

Ubuntu system.

Being a simple command-line tool, apt-get has numerous advantages over other package management tools available in Ubuntu for server administrators. Some of these advantages include ease of use over simple terminal connections (SSH) and the ability to be used in system administration scripts, which can in turn be automated by the cron scheduling utility.

Some examples of popular uses for the apt-get utility:

• Install a Package: Installation of packages using the apt-get tool is quite simple. For example, to install the editor vim, type the following:

• Remove a Package: Removal of a package or packages is also a straightforward and simple

1. Never be disrespectful to parents. Do not say a harsh word to them.
2. Even if parents are unjust, it is not lawful for children to ill-treat, disobey or displease them.
3. Obey them in all lawful things. If they instruct you to do anything which is unlawful in the Sharee'ah , then politely and with respect and apology decline. Never refuse rudely nor argue with them.
4. When parents abuse, scold or even beat their children, they should submit to such treatment with humility. Never should they utter a word of disrespect or complaint, nor should they display on their faces any indication of disgust or anger. Bear their treatment in silence and with patience. Make du'aa for them.
5. Assist them in all lawful ways even if they happen to be non-Muslims.
6. Whenever you see them, greet them.
7. If you are living with them, take their permission before going anywhere. Inform them of your whereabouts.
8. If you are engaged in Nafl Salaat and your parents call you, break your Salaat and answer their call, even if there is no urgency or importance in their call. If you are performing Fardh Salaat and you detect urgency in their call, then break even the Fardh Salaat to answer their call.
9. Do not call them on their names. Address them with a title of respect and honour.
10. After death, make du'aa of forgiveness for them. Pray for their forgiveness and within your means, practice virtuous deeds with the intention of the thawaab thereof being bestowed on them by Allah .
11. Pay the debts of your parents.
12. If they had made any lawful wasiyyat (bequest), fulfil it if you are by the means to do so.
13. Be kind, respectful and helpful to the friends of your parents.
14. When entering the private room of parents, seek their permission before entering.
15. Always be cheerful in their presence.
16. Speak kindly and tenderly with them.
17. When speaking to parents, keep your gaze low. Do not stare them in the face.
18. Do not raise your voice above the voices of your parents.
19. Be humble in their presence.
20. When accompanying parents on a walk, do not walk in front of them nor on the right or left side. Walk slightly behind them.
21. Even in their absence, speak highly and respectfully of them.
22. Do not give preference to the wife over them (this does not apply to the rights of the wife. Where parents instruct their son to violate or discard the obligatory rights of his wife, it will not be permissible to obey them in this case.)
23. Always endeavour to keep them happy.
24. Do not embark on a journey without their permission.
25. When they question you, do not inconvenience them by delaying your reply.
26. It is highly disrespectful to refrain from answering them.
27. If at any time you were disrespectful to your parents, regret your action and hasten to obtain their pardon.

Allah(SWT) has strange ways to show us his power and turns the things the way he wants. I see so many messages in this world cup, which I have been noticing since the beginning. Pakistan all of sudden got up and ended up with one of the very strong team in the whole of world cup from where it was almost certain that it won’t even pass 1^st round and like the last two world cup they will be knocked out before quarter final. But they actually surprised the whole nation and kept themselves on top of the group.

Afridi XI has brought the nation a hope, a hope of wining. The whole nation was pretty happy that they will bring the cup home, unfortunately that did not happened. Right when we started to expect a great reception to our team, all the dreams were shattered, everyone was so quite. Although streets were quite the whole day, we could hear screaming, television sounds from almost every house in Pakistan, but not after loss was certain and almost a cry face of Afridi.

Yes it’s just a game and that day was not Pakistan’s day, but why only that day, what happened to all the players on that particular day, when many of them who were good fielders started misfielding, batting calculation was not right nor shot selection were? And top of all, so much prayers. Probably Allah had to teach us a hidden lesson. Where there were so many prayers, there were so much khurafat going around, not only things that are strictly prohibited, music, dancing, mix gathering of girls and guys who were shamelessly dancing in public, where our media was promoting that to promote themselves, but also so much money been wasted, you could have heard firing from so many houses, where each bullet that cost 45 Rs. is more than cost of one time food for an small family who are starving to death. This would be one reason we couldn’t have that complete happiness.

I’m not discussing how important is this cricket to us and how much interest we should give, nothing halal or haram, that is a whole different topic. Right now just the things that should be pointed out during this process. Another very interesting thing I noticed, which actually made me write this article. When Allah has to give some one a respect or when Allah wants to make someone a Hero, Allah will do that regardless of the situation and our imagination. As I mentioned above, as a nation our expectation were so high that the only thing we were now expecting was to give huge reception to the team with the cup and since that didn’t happen, the world had thought now the reception would be with eggs and tomatoes, but Afridi apologizing to the nation changed everything. And where he may not have gotten that love from the nation if he would have brought that cup, because it would have been shared with the cup or may be even cup might have won the love over Afridi, now people of Pakistan were only expressing their love to him, and how he is the hero even remember what he did with the team to bring them up united to semi final. You can see new, article, poems and etc full love nations love to him and making him our Hero. This really makes me wonder how Allah plans things we cannot ever imagine.

Here is one more thing shown to us as a lesson, the power of word “SORRY” how this one word changed everything, the anger, criticism all were forgotten and poems were written, wishes were sent, specially to this one man. One thing I really like about this guys Afridi is enthusiasm, has a good sense of humor and quite friendly. At a point where team just started to built up, with bowlers like Asif and Amir, conspiracies for our team destroyed the teams by taking away those talent. But something by the grace of Allah good happened and that gave a chance for us to see Shahid Affridi as a captain. Although initially he failed, but he really started to build up the team. It begin from where the team was expected to be out in the 1st round and was being compared with teas like Bangladesh, but this thanks thanks to Shahid, who really surprised us with his captaincy and even leading from the front and got the team so ahead of expectation. Even after that, he apologized to the nation.

We still love you Shahid and best of luck ahead.

Sleep debt or chronic partial sleep deprivation from poor quality sleep has been shown to have a detrimental effect on overall energy metabolism in the body. The toxic interaction of impaired energy metabolism and chronic partial sleep loss is the underlying cause of the reduction in melatonin and the loss of brain function as we age. Failure to provide sufficient energy for the brain during sleep has a significant adverse effect on brain metabolism and on memory and learning.

Ironically, the most severe negative effect on brain energy provision occurs from chronic increased food consumption and the resultant excessive insulin production that follows. Excess insulin in the central nervous system has a profound negative influence on brain metabolism and on memory and learning. Hyperinsulinism prevents glucose uptake into the brain causing partial brain starvation. Our brain is actually starving during periods of excess energy availability.

Insulin also inhibits an enzyme in the brain which allows the accumulation of glutamate in the synaptic space between brain neurons. This leads to irreversible damage of nerve cells in the brain and deterioration of brain function.
