Rockman Mega World ~ Wily Tower Save

With the wonderful development with FPGA devices that have been releasing for some years debuted the latest from Analogue, the Mega Sg. A Sega Mega Drive / Genesis FPGA console that mimics the way a real Mega Drive operates. With the bug fixes and implementation on the "jailbroken" firmware I present you a Rockman Mega World save file that's strictly a perfect save file that's had the three games cleared and ready for Wily Tower playthroughs. Perfect for anybody wanting to save time and prefers the Famicom / NES version of these games.

The EEPROM version seems to be the only version of the game existent according to the person who analyzed the EEPROM save types for different Mega Drive games some years back. Apparently there exists two different dumps of these games and one is just a mislabeled SRAM patched version of the game so that emulators that had problems back then could play through it. I've included both of the different types for the game in case you want to run that version as well. Useful if there's Mega EverDrive features you wanted to use and don't own the Mega EverDrive X7.

It will be interesting to see how the Sega Genesis Mini will handle it's games. I'm assuming it's just a patched EUR version that runs @ 60 FPS and nothing more. I'm not a fan of the way it's handling it's upscaling and how the energy bars look scrambled and janky much like the newer Legacy Collections that have it's share of upscaling problems and input lag. I much prefer the FPGA console selection and using sqaure pixels on everything to keep things consistent without needing to use any kind of interpolation filtering at all. I'm sure slow downs won't be accurate on the Mini since it will be running on emulation.

Rockman EXE2 Aluminum Anodized GBA

I felt like showing this off. This a customized Game Boy Advance based on the Battle Network Rockman EXE2 bundle that came with a special variant GBA. I customized it through Boxy Pixel along with the Game Boy Color. The aluminum housing shell housings are machined designed to utilize putting in the brighter backlit AGS-101 screen, which is nice and very easy because there's no modifications that have to be made to the shell. The shells are also designed strictly for their rechargable batteries, which hold more time than a GBA SP and are charged using a micro USB cable. The build quality is top notch, and the brass buttons feel very good compared to the original plastic buttons. I figured it was time to do this now that the glass screen lens modeled after that GBA have been in production.

There are some imperfections as nice as the aluminum shells are. The housing for the screen is slightly not shifted enough to the left for the GBA housings. I was told by the store owner that this correction would be implemented later on. Also, the clip slots on the sides for Wireless Adapters, Gamecube Link Cable, and Chip Gates are non-existent if you're wanting to use such things, which I'm hoping gets corrected. Lastly. It feels as if the front shell is a little more green than blue for the anodized process. Colors may not be perfect exactly to what you're looking for as the andoizing process can be tricky. I'm also hoping I can have more of a bluer color for a future revision of the shell if I can. I like to think of it as a Saito Style type of GBA with the brass buttons with the outer part of the EXE mark. I think it was definitely worth the price though. If you want to DIY, you'll have to know how to solder the battery and ribbon cable placement for the AGS-101 screen. It's an awesome and modern way to play GBA today besides having GBA Consolizer. The store owner is a very nice guy as well, and the wait time was not too long. I would definitely recommend going through this method to have the best experience for any of the GBA Rockman games.

Super Robot Wars XO ~ Rockman Event Tips

Super Robot Wars XO recently had a Rockman event published for the New Year, I will be covering what I've done and any tips to players that have questions. This should be able to net you all of the SSR Cards within so many hours from the Rockman event and give you a good start on the game if you're interested in anything Mecha from the genre. First off, I recommend trying to roll for SSR Blues in the Gasha with free rolls as you login. As SSR Rockman is free to any new players. So if you've already started an account early, I recommend starting anew by deleting the application and redownloading. Save your account through データの引き継ぎ in an existing account if you want to. I would simply reroll each time through new accounts until it happens. Eventually it should come up, and it's easy for it to come up too. SSR rates are higher for this Gasha because of the event, and it's meant to have those two cards for overall level breaking the cards up to 4 times.

From there on in and if you've acquired SSR Blues, along with SSR Rockman in the Present Box. Now is the time to access the actual event. You'll want to quest with that main button, and tap the yellow button on the top for イベント. Start the lowest quest from the bottom. After a quest is cleared, about 80% of the time. You'll encounter SSR Forte * in a battle. You will get rewards for defeating him each time, and you should reserve any Crystals you have on reserve on BP points to fight him, especially the event ones in the shop that are discounted. I would not use the maxium 2BP until you can't beat him in one go with your team. Try to make friends from guests that have strong units too to use in the event. I ended up using Quin Mantha, Unicorn Gundam (Awakened), and Seravee Gundam most of the time. If you get a Robot Master, it's probably just best to fight it once and wait it out until the timer is up. To me wasn't worth fighting them, but if you do it once and then let the timer run it, you may get an SR of any of the ones you fought. Once is enough, because they are much more powerful than Forte.

Once you've gotten an SSR Forte * to max breakthrough (maxing out the overall level of a card), feeding SSR Forte * dupes into a base one. You'll be able to acquire SSR Roll as a support card for your team from ミッション. She seems to heal HP in waves. Also, by reaching LV90 of the Forte event was able to get me everything including the voiced pilots parts (characters) through the event. You'll want to roll the Event Gasha for whatever points you earn for more chances at SSR Forte * so you can complete Forte getting SSR Roll faster, even getting the x1 SSR Forte * through the event shop points. The Event is based around having a maxed breakthrough for the SSR Forte * card. As for pilots, they are locked to those specific characters for each one. Them being event based means they are probably very limited in time. I don't think that they will be in the shop later on like other pilots are.

It's a nice auto battle game for sure. Great having Rockman again on my iDevices, it's a bit crazy seeing Gundam and Rockman together. I'm thinking about saving or spending Crystals for a 00 Raiser (GN Sword III) and trying for that randomly. I suppose all of us can be happy for what it is and enjoy the time it's around before it bites the dust like other mobile games. I still enjoy playing JP Dokkan Battle and SAOCR personally.

Rockman EXE Sound Box & Arrange Best Track ~ Unboxing

A Sound Box and finally an actual Arrange CD for the EXE Series has been released. There isn't too much to say for the Sound Box, it's simply just past releases (EXE1~3, EXE4&4.5&5, and EXE5DS&6 Complete Music Encyclopedia (Not at all!)) with an extra disc for Battle Chip GP and N1 Battle music. I have no idea why they wouldn't put Battle Chip Stadium's BGM, Transmission, EXE WS, or even a recomposed version of the Cell Phone games. Instead they lambed it not even trying to re-record things this time. The first disc of the Sound Box and onward thought they were older releases on my Audio CD dumping program. Not to mention the big change on the EXE5DS&6 disc has things reordered for the incomplete BGM for EXE5DS first, then EXE6 with an axed out Hakushaku -crossover ver.- from it's previous release because it was Bokura no Taiyou related. Konami must have the rights to that track because it states so inside the book of that older release perhaps?

All in all. If you have the older 3 releases. You aren't missing much and should save your money unless you really like the EXE Series enough to have it. I also made this a while back to go along with the older releases. The only thing you're missing out on with this release is Battle Chip GP and N1 Battle and that's really it. I haven't personally listened to the Arrange CD yet, but I'm excited for the treatment.

Two Special Saves to kick off the New Year

With Rockman 8, Rockman X4, Rockman X5, Rockman Battle & Chase, and Tron ni Kobun's release on the Japanese PlayStation Network last month. I've compiled my own save data files for Rockman Battle & Chase and Tron ni Kobun, that are also PS3 ready so that you can transfer them to your PS3, PS Vita, or PS Vita TV.

For Rockman Battle & Chase, if you have a non Best for Family printing of the game / the game's first print run. You can utilize Duo in all other modes, except for GP Mode. The PSN version uses the Best for Family version for the reason that Duo is newly included in the second print release, minus the new opening sequence when a Memory Card with the save is in Slot-1. For the first release, only a special campaign with Dengeki PlayStation Magazine that was a mail in benefit would have a Memory Card save for B&C that has the Duo flag activated. So if you're using the original release on a PS3, this save can be useful for you. PSN downloaders don't need to worry about this save.

Tron ni Kobun also had a special campaign through Dengeki G, later when they switched the magazine title I believe. Labeled as, "Dengeki Kobun". This data can be used to unlock Kobun #41 through New Games and existing game saves at the cost of 1 block on a Memory Card.

V2 Patch Fix

I apologize over this. It's my fault since I didn't double check the tracklisting with the first announced tracklisting. One of the tracks seems to be pruned in the final release which caused the screw up for me. That's the price you pay for not double checking these things.

For Windows users, put the .bat file in the Rockman Sound Box 2 directory and run it. It'll delete 13 old files that had errors, then add these newly corrected files in. All other tracks should be fine. I'll have to make a Mac version sometime.

Rockman Sound Box 2 ~ Unboxing

Just like the E Can set (which needs it's pic links fixed). Here's an unboxing of this. The GB music doesn't sound too bad, I'm not sure if there's been any instruments that seem left out like the E Can set. Though, I don't think Mega World sounds too great from the samples at e-Capcom I listened too. I still need to listen to the tracks. This set would also go great in any collection, especially with the awesome illustration picture that I wasn't expecting.

Rockman Xover ~ Game Memories & Conclusion

With the hidden announcement of termination yesterday. I figured it would be a good time to reflect on the game in light of this. All my memories, and my final thoughts about the game itself.

I think everybody hated the idea. I definitely did. Especially when it seemed to be a year after that horrible remake, or rather "de-port" of Rockman X for iOS. At the time I had never tried such a thing as a freemium or social game on my iPhone or iPad. I was always more of a console gamer and it seemed to be in it's infancy around that time. More and more people I knew were playing games like this where you'd have to spend money for in-game items.

My first impression was the loading time. I could not believe I had to wait more than a half an hour just to play. I did not understand the concept of it being social for it's genre at the time, so I did not realize it needed assets it neeeded to download after the application was installed. Especially for newer content later on. I completely lost it right there and then. This is newer picture I have above, it used to take longer than this.It would have been two months at the very least where I picked it up again and attempted to make an account. I think I didn't really appreciate the game earlier on, it didn't really look that great with the sprite and background assets. Just the way the styling was. I don't really mean the Over-1 sprites. But more like the Bosses, enemies, and the backgrounds. The very early stuff was really nothing for me to be too excited over.

Unlocking later worlds were fun enough once you were getting up to the point of addiction. Even if you were caught up with every armor the game had to offer, they would always release a new world bi-monthly or so. It was just nice seeing what new design they'd come up with for a new armor.

Eventually I did end up charging for Crest (credit currency for Xover). I wanted that SR+ Kalinka Cost 17 so badly ever since I saw it when it was released. But I had not tried gambling for it until some time in April. Unfortunately randomly throwing $40 didn't get me the card for the Premium Gasha. Also mind you, it costed more since I had not known at the time that I could just use an Android device if I had the game downloaded on a Google account. Since Google Play allows you to charge through credit cards, just as long as you have the game on your download listing. I was going to just play the game like normal every day, waste my EP for leveling up and call it a day. Amazingly, the day after I had spent crest toward the Premium Gasha. They had a thing called an SR+ Gauge event. Where if you fill the SR+ Gauge up to maxium, the next roll you did within the Gasha would be that particular card for the event listing. Luckily I had not filled the gauge up to maximum when I tried. I was just a sliver away from filling it. I had acquired the card I really wanted. At this point I was hooked completely. Back when I was Child, Mega Man 4 was the newest game at the time in America. It ended up being my favorite one for nostalgia's sake. I loved the new implementations of each new game. The addition of the Charge Shot was just awesome to me at the time. So having that particular Kalinka card was a treat to me. ~Old SR+ Kalinka post

I was enjoying every bit of content they were releasing. At the time they had an 8-Bit Airman event, with an even stronger version. Airman 2. Pretty much anyone who had the game couldn't defeat higher levels of the Boss. If you did, you'd get particular cards for that event. They even had a new system called, "Irregular Burst" where if you had two of the same card at the same level, you could add a medal to that host card that would make the host card stronger than it was before in every stat and increase the skill amount by +2. It wasn't until a few months after that they added a Continue feature for the game that boosts stats every time you continue so that you could have a chance. It shows that they were doing things and adding events and features to the game.

Around early Julyish of 2013. They introduced new events of 8-Bit enemies just like Airman with different color palettes and different elemet Gashapon. They had a slew of new Cards, like Model LX (Aile), Queen Virgo, and Iris from EXE6. I really wanted an upgrade of the Luna Swimsuit card since I was getting tired of her and wanted something different, since the skill was a C Boost a with a Cost 18 instead of 17. I ended up doing one of the most dumbest things I've ever done throwing money away that I didn't have. I spent a few hundred dollars and didn't get her besides a bunch of cards I did not want at the time. A bunch of Queen Virgos and Model LXs instead. I'm pretty sure I rolled the entire Water Gasha for the time with the exception of EXE6 Iris and SSR3 Rockman. Also, the particular Kalinka I liked wasn't included.

Funny thing was that the EXE6 Iris I wanted, I ended up having to do a Master Boss event for it. Participating against a Master Boss and having it defeated 500 times. Which relies a lot of the social aspect of the game. You or someone else needs to activate a boss finding Map Data from quest drops randomly. There's also Team Battle where you're randomly paired up with another person against two other Rockman and you compete defeating Team Bosses randomly in quests where points determine the outcome of the cards you acquire and the team that wins. They did have Master Boss Events like that where if you defeated a number of Bosses, you would acquire those cards. The only effective way I found to do these events were to just another device just making a new account every 7-10 Bosses. This way you can save EP, and every time you fight 20 Bosses and if they're defeated, you'll get a free E-Can. Yes, it's not really fun at all. At this point I was just happy to acquire the card.

From 2014 and onward. There really wasn't much to say about the game, you'd wait for a new world to appear. They'd have a new Master Boss or Quest Boss in anyway. I've mentioned before on other places about other social games being better and having more funner events and social interaction like SD Gundam G Generation Frontier. One thing I've told people was that, if they actually had a new real game that they could produce. They could have had particular cards in the form a code just for the Rockman Xover that with that newly released game. The Gundam social game I play is like this with certain releases. That's pretty much how that game got me interested. Not to mention having gameplay being much better than Xover. They did have some fun things like a new April fools Event that was Master Boss related for tickets for a single day. I stopped everything I was doing in my normal life for literately almost 24 hours and tried defeating Golden Metools as much as I could. I was able to fully maximize some cards and managed to even get an SSR out of it. Along with a new Special Kalinka card that was an event exclusive in the form of a past code, which was awesome. Since I only had so many at the time. The game really didn't change too much until they added the Battle Tower, and they focuses mainly on that. It was a somewhat fair chance to even acquire past SSRs as you defeated different bosses randomly. To my knowledge they never gave out SSR+s for those events, and would remain premium exlcusives. I never really completed any of the Battle Towers they had, because all the cards for the exclusives didn't seem to great to me in terms of skills. The only one that looked cool to me was the Tribe King one from SSR2's Ultimate Navigation cover artwork. What's the point of buying the H Cans to 1000 the count for them when you could just get a stronger card for that particular element with a Gasha Box or other kind of event?

I'm sure anyone that has charged money with the game, or simply got something that was really good out of a rare occurance would be mad. At first I didn't know how to feel. I recently did draw all the cards out of that new Heroine Gasha Collection just 3 months ago. If I had not, I would have not set the goal I wanted to a long time ago for being 1st Place for however long for the Battle Arena against other players. I think all of us who played and got cards they really wanted at one point in time could definitely be upset. I think the game was fine for the genre. The gameplay could have been a bit better. I think the social aspect could have used some work where it was necessary to have Friends on your listing. The merchandising was good for the game earlier on, but it just didn't seem worth it later on with the lack code gifts, this Capcom Special Selection book being completely out of stock the week before it even released (a lack of a Xover code for it too). I also don't feel bad about leaking the hidden news message, especially when it's news that the game was closing it's doors. I felt justified because I know I'll be losing my Battle Memories, which I've become so sentimental about. We were also in the dark for too long with nothing changed within the game after World 12 released almost a month ago. I figured it was a nice gift for everyone that played the game and cherish their cards so much, that they needed to know what was happening and not being left in the dark. It's not my fault that they put the notice up on servers without it published.

Kalinka Collection ~ Full Complete~!

As for the franchise, I think the game helped. Even if there wasn't a new game being released during the time frame of this game. If they weren't making much money around now, it's because of the poor management and the failure to evolve with older aspects that this game had. It was running well enough before this announcement, so sales must have been good months ago. After March 31st, Capcom will sit on the Rockman name. If most people are having a poor reaction for what this game was, give a thought for it's genre. It is what it is, was what it was. For something that's Rockman related, this game marks a point in my life just like any other game in the franchise would have. I'm sure many of us including myself would love nothing more if they would just release a new game and put enough thought process for it to be a good one.

If you're also in the need for another social game after this to play, and like anything that's Gundam that's in SD form. You can try out SD Gundam G Generation Frontier. It's much more generous with it's Gasha system and it's not impossible to get better cards with free tickets that the game just gives you for playing. In terms of events and gameplay, it's a great game and I'd recommend it for anyone that's played Rockman Xover.

Yes, it's true. It definitely is what it is for this news notice hidden on the server I happened to see. They tell you dates on when each service will shut down (listed them below), and tell you to take screen captures of things for memories' sake.

I will be doing an "Xover Memories" post during this week at some point. I have some things I'd definitely want to show off and tell about, as for my final thoughts about the game itself as a social game.

After gambling so much with the different Gashapon and SR+ Gauge events last year with this game. The Strongest! Heorine Collection made me want to give it another go last week, while I don't play this social game as much as I like to compared to other mobile games out there.

I'll be listing the renewed upgraded versions of cards within the Gashapon Box because it interests me, and for anyone that had missed it. I'll also put up raw images of the cards within the chart below. I was mainly going after particular cards I wanted. I didn't keep a list of every single card I rolled. But it's your typical themed gasha for what's to be expected. New listings are in Collection order.

Rockman EXE4~6 Card e-Reader+ Promotional Card Listing

In 2008, I was working on a complete listing for every card for EXE4~6 cards in an Excel document. I managed to finish 4. But with 5 and 6, I've only completed all promotional cards since they seemed more important to me at the time.

I've revised and relisted every promotional card to date and the location of each of them, for anyone that was still wanting to collect them and wanted any information about them. I left out effects for any Modification Cards from my spreadsheets with the exception of 4's Weapon Change card since it might not be obvious for the Card Title on the card itself, plus it takes up too much room with in-depth listings. Color styling is also in the form true to the way the actual card are with their titles and card background. Maybe some other day I'll get to releasing my listings for normal cards and effects.

Hacks / Wishful Translating / Capcom USA laughs

There's a fair share of hacks and patches on the internet for ROMs. Especially for the Original series of the franchise.

The EXE series gets some attention with particular fun hacks that are pretty customizable. But they tend to lead off the focus of the original game. Mainly with localized versions people use. One of them which I refuse to name because I think it should not exist right now. As a solution to restore features that were removed from a localized release. Takes the Japanese game, and puts all the dialogue text from the tampered released, and sticks them on to the original game. I've heard lots of reports of bugs and glitches. Not to mention that it tries to restore features that are there, but call upon other means of using them like Chip Gates or Card e-Reader+.

I just cannot believe that people would go such lengths to avoid playing the original game for it's gutted content. And using the localized script just makes things much worse with all the name changes and story dialogue that's made-up for the patch. Not to mention any typos and gimped graphics they'd want back in.

I've said this to people a couple of times within this past decade. Wishful thinking. In a perfect world. I would absolutely love to see these games, with true translations.

*True Translations of all dialogue (maybe a smaller and less uglier font would do nicely for this)
*No localized terminology
*No gutted / changed content throughout the 6 games

I've never liked how Capcom USA has handled games from 2001 and onward. Multiple delays for games, botch ups with naming, canned releases.

It seemed like they went downhill with the localized release of Rockman X5 from I had experienced. With an occurance of two delays, and the way Bosses were named were just laughable to me. With the Japanese Boss names being so easy to transliterate into English, there's really no excuse. I was so happy at that point when I had bought the original release prior. I had my localized copy on Preorder so that I could understand the Story better, which I ended up just letting a Friend have. Since I already had the game.

Megaman Battle Network 2 was like this. Many delays, and I had not know about Game Boy in general being Region Free. And in the end, it was perfect just trading with myself or letting another friend borrow or have to play with.

But I think the one that certainly takes the cake is none other than the Megaman Anniversary Collection for GBA. This really looked awesome, and it's too bad that it never saw a release. After the mess that was the Anniversary Collection for home consoles with butchered Complete Works stuff. This was a collection of the Original series Game Boy games, with complete recoloring of the graphics with the sprites, backgrounds, etc. Again. I suppose it's not a perfect when it comes to good things with the branch and this particular franchise.

I'm not sure if we can count all the digital stuff, since they are two different things and were probably treated better in the long run. Rockman 9 and 10 were amazing to see after long since Rockman & Forte. I think they were primarily developed USA based first and foremost (?), even with it's releases. Megaman Universe might've been something good to be canceled since it didn't seem to do anything for me. And finally Rockman Dash 3, I really thought that should have been on a home console and not on the 3DS to begin with.

I consider myself going fully Japanese based due to the X5 problems. I had collected all the Japanese RCW games before X5's original release. The CW games were what I enjoyed as a Child through localized NES releases.

I also don't mean to offend anyone that happens to like the USA games. Where it might a case where you don't prefer the Japanese region, or if it's all you have. I suggest to enjoy it by all means. This is just what I've went through with some of my experiences concerning this branch and the franchise. As well as giving a second choice to the user. I really just wish they treated some of the past titles better being a consumer.
