Sunny Deol moves from ‘Hindustan zindabad’ to ‘I Love New York’

It seems that after the success of his last rom-com-family-drama, Yamla Pagla Deewana, Sunny Deol is drifting away from the action genre. News is that he has signed a romantic film, I 3 NY, with Kangna Ranaut. The weird-looking title of the film is a symbolic representation of the classic ‘I Love New York’ and will be directed by Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru, who earlier directed Salman Khan in the not-too-lucky Lucky – No Time For Love.

Though Sunny started his career with a bang as a lover boy in Betaab, his claim to fame in Bollywood was when he bloodied the streets of Mumbai as an action hero in Arjun. He upped the ante by taking on what seemed to be the whole of Pakistan, aided by just a hand-pump, in Anil Sharma’s patriotic pot-boiler, Gadar. Nothing has come close to the success he tasted with that Ameesha Patel-starrer and it seems that his foray into romantic films is an attempt to revive his career as a solo hero. Explaining the unusual name of the film director Vinay Sapru said, “I <3 NY stands for a very old and known saying about New York; most people are familiar with this, as it’s commonly seen on t-shirts, caps or banners. It basically means ‘I love New York’. The film is a romantic comedy on the lines of Chupke Chupke, with a little bit of action choreographed by Tinnu Verma.”

Though it is not clear if I <3 NY is an official remake of the cult Hrishikesh Mukherjee film, it just might be a humble tribute from Sunny to his dad Dharmendra, who won millions of hearts with his cutesy act as the chaste, Hindi-speaking professor masquerading as a chauffeur. This news has amused us no end, and wethink it will be interesting to see the guy with the ‘dhai kilo ka haath’ trying to woo the petite Kangna. Do you think they will look good together on-screen?

Scott Porter Engaged to Kelsey Mayfield

Scott Porter has reportedly got engaged to his girlfriend Kelsey Mayfield. According to a source reporting to Us Weekly, the engagement of the "Hart of Dixie" actor and his girlfriend of four years "happened late January." The source added, "It was during a trip to NYC. They're living together in Los Angeles."

Porter first met Mayfield, who currently serves as a casting director for "The Revolution", on the set of "Friday Night Lights". He played injured quarterback Jason Street who had an on-and-off relationship with Minka Kelly's character.

The source told the site, "Kelsey thought Scott was a stunt guy on Friday Night Lights because she cheered at The University of Texas and bunch of former UT football players and mutual friends were the stunt team." The source went on, "It wasn't till a month later she discovered he was an actor on the show!"

Politics aside, Michelle Obama's style has J. Crew's vote. In an interview with ABC, the brand's creative director Jenna Lyons said the First Lady's fondness for J. Crew clothing has been “the most incredible gift that keeps on giving.”

The FLOTUS is known for her affordable fashion sense, frequently opting for brands like Gap, ASOS, Target and, of course, J. Crew. Clarifying that the family doesn't get anything for free, Lyons said, “They go to our website and they purchase just like anybody else. She acts like a customer and she has a stylist who helps her, but she doesn’t call in any special favors. They don’t ask for any discounts. It’s pretty unbelievable. … She still continues to wear the product without any help from us.”

While much of J. Crew's recent growth can be attributed to Lyons' prolific leadership, there's no denying that Michelle has quite the Midas touch. Lyons credits her with helping the brand create a unique bond with customers. “The fact that they had something they had, that they owned a sweater that Michelle wore. For a lot of people, it’s been an incredible point of connection, a way for them to connect to her through us,” Lyons said.

Hilary Duff Shares Upside-Down Kiss With Husband in Black-and-White Photo

Hilary Duff continues to shower fans with photos documenting her baby bump, but this time around, she flaunts her husband's affection for her. The former "Lizzie McGuire" star recently changed the profile picture on her verified Twitter account, unveiling a black-and-white picture of her and Mike Comrie sharing an upside-down kiss.

The particular shot was taken by Elizabeth Messina. It sees the pregnant Duff caressing her growing bump while leaning on a chair to lock lips with her husband, who has just announced his retirement from the NHL. Happy that her fans enjoyed the picture, she tweeted on Wednesday, February 15, "Glad you guys like my new pic! Much love to all you guys."

Back on Monday, Duff took to Twitter to show support of Comrie's decision to retire, "As many of u know, Mike has announced his retirement. It's a bittersweet day! He had a wonderful career! But 3 hip surgeries in 5 years is a lot!" She followed it up with another tweet that read, "2day we are enjoying all the great memories mike had while playing in the NHL!now we have a big addition coming to our family! #comrie."

On the same day, Comrie released a statement about his retirement. "To have made the lasting friendships I enjoy today with so many of my former teammates is something that will stay with me for the rest of my life," he said. "It's the reward that has made all the hard work, the trades, the moves and the surgeries worthwhile."

In another news, Duff revealed on Friday, February 17 that she's working on an upcoming video for Funny or Die. "Sooo excited heading to shoot my @funnyordie video today!! Been wanting to do one of these for a while! Wish me funny today! Xx," she first tweeted. She later wrote, "With @MarcusRFrancis & @lauren_andersen on @funnyordie shoot! These fools entertain me."

Suspended Radio Hosts Issue Apology for Calling Whitney Houston a 'Crack Ho'

Popular radio duo, John Kobylt and Ken Chiampou, have expressed their remorse for making derogatory joke about the late Whitney Houston during an on-air discussion. In a statement released on Thursday, February 16, Kobylt admitted on behalf of himself and co-host Chiampou, "We made a mistake."

The host of "The John and Ken Show" went on to say that the two of them accept KFI AM 640's decision in suspending them from the air for a week and a half. "We used language that was inappropriate," he further acknowledged, "and we sincerely apologize to our listeners and to the family of Ms. Houston."

Along with Kobylt's apologetic statement, KFI AM 640 announced the immediate suspension of the pair because of the "insensitive and inappropriate comments" they made about the "I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me)" hitmaker. The station added, "KFI AM 640 Management does not condone, support or tolerate statements of this kind."

Kobylt called Houston a "crack ho" during a recent show. He said, "All her friends and hangers on, had to deal with her. It's like, 'ah, Jesus, here comes the crack ho again. What's she gonna do? Oh, look at that, she's doing handstands next to the pool. Very good, crack ho. nice.' After a while, everybody's exhausted. And then you find out she's dead."

He and Chiampou will return to the air again on Monday, February 27, but Alex Nogales, president and CEO of the National Hispanic Media Coalition, believes the "temporary suspension is not enough". He said in a statement, "How many times do John and Ken get to spew their hate, apologize and then do it again after taking off a long weekend? KFI must permanently remove John and Ken from the air. Los Angeles deserves better."

Bobbi Kristina Brown Doing 'Much Better,' Says Bobby Brown

It has obviously been an extremely difficult time for Whitney Houston's 18-year-old daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown, but according to her father she is improving more and more with each passing day. "My daughter Bobbi Kristina is doing much better," Bobby Brown said in a statement to ABC News on Tuesday.

"We continue to provide love and support to Bobbi Kristina. She is dealing with the tragedy of her mother's death and would prefer to do it outside of the public eye. I ask again that our privacy be respected."

Following her mother's sudden death on Saturday, Bobbi Kristina was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles after suffering an apparent emotional breakdown. She has since been released to her family and friends.

"Obviously the death of her mother is affecting her. However we will get through this tragedy as a family," Bobby Brown told People magazine. Houston's family has planned a private funeral for the singer on Saturday in Newark, NJ at the New Hope Baptist Church where Whitney once sang in the choir.

Brandy: 'I'll Never Reveal The Contents Of Whitney Houston's Final Note'

R&B star Brandy is refusing to reveal details of what Whitney Houston wrote in a note she handed the singer during a TV interview on Thursday - two days before her death.

The E! News chat Brandy conducted with Monica and Houston's friend and mentor Clive Davis has become a talking point since the tragedy - because Houston interrupted the interview and appeared to shock her young friend with the contents of a brief she handed to her.

In the footage, Brandy suddenly fell silent and shifted awkwardly in her chair after her brother Ray J's reported girlfriend handed her the note, which she handed off to an assistant.

But in a new E! News segment, which will air on Tuesday, the "Full Moon" singer insists she'll never reveal what her friend and idol wrote.

She says, "I'm going to just not say what it was and just keep it to myself for my own personal reasons."Still raw and emotional after Saturday's tragedy, Brandy fought back tears for the new interview with Monica, stating, "It's just so unfortunate. Whitney meant everything to me - everything. She's the reason that I sing. It's crazy, so crazy."

Rumor of Lil Wayne's Backstage Arrest at Grammys 2012 Clarified as a Hoax

Contrary to earlier claim, Lil Wayne was not arrested on gun charges backstage at the 54th Annual Grammy Awards. Setting the record straight was none other than Bryan "Birdman" Williams, the co-founder of the "6 Foot 7 Foot" rapper's label, Cash Money Records.

In an electronic message he sent to Forbes on Sunday, February 12 night, Birdman deemed Weezy's arrest report a hoax. The 42-year-old record producer stated, "[It's] not true, he's good." He went on to say, "I never heard about that. He was good all day."

Rumor that Weezy got in trouble with the police surfaced just moments before the 29-year-old took the stage inside Los Angeles' Staples Center. When he then performed a dance tribute with the likes of Chris Brown and David Guetta, it was speculated that the authorities were waiting for him offstage.

TMZ and The Associated Press were said to be among those sparking report of Weezy's arrest, but had since backtracked the story. The former additionally retweeted a posting by a Twitter user that read, "@TMZ didn't even tweet anything about Lil Wayne getting arrested! Someone made that up, idiots!"

Karl Lagerfeld: My 'Fat' Adele Comments Have Been Taken Out of Context

Outspoken designer Karl Lagerfeld shocked many when he branded Adele "a little too fat" in a recent interview, but he was quick to backtrack his words. Just days after his interview was published, the creative director of Chanel explained that his remarks were taken out of the context.

"I'd like to say to Adele that I am your biggest admirer," the 78-year-old told Metro. "Sometimes when you take a sentence out of the article it changes the meaning of the thought. What I said was in relation to Lana Del Rey and the sentence has since been taken out of context from how it was originally published."

"I actually prefer Adele, she is my favorite singer and I am a great admirer of her," he continued. "I lost over 30 kilos over 10 years ago and have kept it off. I know how it feels when the press is mean to you in regards to your appearance." He stressed in the end, "Adele is a beautiful girl. She is the best. And I can't wait for her next CD."

Back on February 6, Metro released its interview with Lagerfeld. In the chat, the British newspaper asked the German fashion designer about Del Rey, and he responded by saying, "I prefer Adele and Florence Welch. But as a modern singer she is not bad. The thing at the moment is Adele. She is a little too fat, but she has a beautiful face and a divine voice."

The controversy aside, Adele herself has had her first interview since undergoing a vocal cord surgery in November 2011. Speaking to Anderson Cooper in an interview for CBS' "60 Minutes", the "Rolling in the Deep" singer admitted it was hard for her not to speak for about two months to recover from the procedure, but found an app that helps her to communicate.

"I also had an application on my phone that you type the words into it and then it speaks it," the 23-year-old Grammy nominee spilled. "But the great thing is I love to swear. Most of [the apps] you can't swear on, but I found this one app where you can swear, so I'm still really getting my point across."

During the interview to air Sunday, February 12 at 7:00 P.M. ET/PT, the "Someone Like You" singer also recalled losing her voice while singing live on French radio. "It felt like someone put a curtain over my throat," she remembered. "It felt like something popped in my throat." She further expressed her fear that it would happen again, "if I decide to go on a 200-date world tour."
