I personally love Gerber products, and when I had my daughter she was always wearing soft gerber onesies on her. They were quik and easy to put on, and looked just lovely on her. Easter Egg Treats

My daughter Sophia loves Rice Krispie treats. Since Easter is around the corner I asked her if she wanted to make, decorate, and eat some fun Rice Krispie Easter Egg Treats. Of course she said yes, and she started to sing the Rice Krispie treat song. I had to join in too. So, to get started all you will need are the following supplies.

Supplies:

Plastic Easter Eggs
Rice Krispie Treats
Sugar Sprinkles (red, pink, yellow or any color your want)
Chocolate Sprinkles
Food Color (Sophia grabbed anything she saw in the pantry LOL)
Bowl
Skittles (I used them because I did not have Jelly beans on hand

Sophia was really excited to start our wonderful Easter Egg Treat project. First we opened one Easter egg and one Rice Kripie treat. Then I broke the rice krispie in half, and Sophia pressed one piece of Rice Krispie in one half of the Easter egg. I pressed the other half in the other side of the Easter egg. Next, we closed the egg to form it into a wonderful egg form. We opened and took out the compressed Rice Krispie that now has an adorable shape of an egg.

I took a bowl and sprinkled some sugar sprinkles in it. Then we rolled the Rice Krispie Easter Egg around covering the entire treat. Sophia loved that part. We continued using this medhod to decorate all the eggs using different colored sprinkles. It was so much fun and better yet, very easy to make. Your kids can have lots of fun making them and even more fun eating them.

Now, go ahead and make some of your lovely Easter Eggs Treat. I know we had lots of fun and enjoy!

LOVE: The First Day of Spring!

I am so excited that today March 20, 2012, is The First Day of Spring! It’s time to kiss the cold weather goodbye! I am already seeing beautiful flowers blooming all around. Living in Houston, Texas the weather can be quite unpredictable. Today, we are actually having heavy rain and hopefully that will go away soon, so I can enjoy a nice day outside. I love to sit outside, relax, drink a nice cup of fresh squeezed mango juice, and read a wonderful magazine or an interesting book.

Spring time is a good season to start your own garden. I honestly have tried to start a vegetable garden and for some reason it doesn’t seem to be working right. My husband and I actually started our vegetable garden with tomatoes, okra, strawberries and they all grew pretty well. Until one day we saw those pesky birds eating all of our strawberries and tomatoes. Every time when Sophia saw the birds eating my tomatoes, she was screaming so loud “Mama, the birds are eating your tomatoes” then I would come running with a broom. Please picture that image in your head (I looked really funny)

They were having their breakfast and lunch everyday LOL. So we covered them up but they managed to find a way to still eat them. We totally gave up on our vegetable garden. However, they did not touch the okra, so I ended up making okra soup from my own vegetable garden. I loved it.

I love watermelon, and on Sunday my husband bought one. My daughter loves to plant anything, so she decided to take the seeds of the watermelon and plant them in our flowerbed. She was so happy and wakes up now everyday to check if the watermelon is growing already. Last year Sophia sprinkled a lot of pumpkin seeds in our flowerbed, and I must say some of them really sprouted. However, they never grew into a pumpkin. It was still great for her to see that her seeds grew. So who knows, maybe the watermelon might grow too just like the pumpkin. Let’s hope for the best, but no promises. LOL

So maybe this time around I might consider it again and start up my own vegetable garden. Have you started yours as well or are you planning on starting one. What will you be growing? Let me know.

I honestly have to admit that I haven’t heard of Amy Michelle Got Tote until I was browsing for baby bags and came across their site. Oh, my eyes were wide open of amazement. As you all know I am addicted to bags and if they are beautiful then I am all over them. I was looking for a bag that would be cute but at the same time handy for my little one. Not to big and not to small, just the right size to place everything my little man would need while we are out and about.

One of their bags that caught my attention was the Amy Michelle Go Tote: Lexington in moroccan and had the chance to review one. Love the color, and how light it is and very durable it is. I have seen a lot of diaper bags that are huge and not very appealing to the eye, but the Amy Michelle bags are not only stylish but very spacious to me.

I completely adore the Lexington Bag which is 12″L x 4-6″W x 14″H. It has so many ways in which you can carry it around, such as: a backpack, an over-the-shoulder strap, or simply carry it by the handle. Isn’t that fantastic. Let’s say your hands are full holding your baby or other items, well guess what, the bag can easily be attached to the stroller so you won’t have to juggle to many things. How about that.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Today is St. Patrick’s Day, so will you be wearing green today? This morning my husband did not wear any green, and that would have been a good opportunity to pinch him. However, being on bed rest and unable to walk, I was a little sad I couldn’t get him. So, instead I called on my little helper to go give him a pinch of Irish.

I made this cute little outfit for Sophia, a year ago and thought it was really nice to show you all today. It is still one of my favorite St. Patrick’s outfit and picture. We had a lot of 3 leaf clovers close to our home and thought this would be a great picture to take. Sophia was crawling around looking for a four leaf clover. When she became tired I snapped this picture of her. I hope you all like it.

My Stylish Delivery Gown and Matching Pillowcase!

Well I am currently 34 weeks pregnant and I am quite excited, but at the same time tired. I was in the hospital for a couple of days, and while in there I had plenty of time to browse the internet. I saw some wonderful delivery gowns and wanted to wear one myself, because the hospital gown I received was falling apart. I definitely can’t be seen in that. Since my visit, I have been placed on complete bed rest due to early labor symptoms.

I thought, since I love to sew, why not make one for myself. I eventually found an inexpensive fabric and a hospital gown pattern and made my own creation. I really wanted a matching pillowcase, so I made one as well. The delivery gown and the matching pillowcase cost me total of $12.00. Yes, isn’t that nice!

I started on the pillowcase and delivery gown prior to being placed on bed rest, but I still had to finish up the delivery gown. So my dear sweet husband found a way to make it all work. Since, I couldn’t get out of bed, he placed my sewing machine next to the night table and I began sewing while laying on my side. LOL.

I am glad that I made my gown and pillowcase, because having to stay in the hospital and wearing their ripped hospital gown with no ribbon in the back to cover your behind, can be quite embarrasing while walking the halls of the hospital. It’s not a pleasant look at all.
