We would like to thank everyone for coming out to support us this past weekend at the 5th Annual Show n' Shine Car Show. We had record breaking registrations this year, filling both the inside of as well as three of the four parking lots surrounding the convention center with competitors. We had a great time, and hope you did too.

This year's show is here! It promises to be bigger and better than ever - with record breaking pre-registration numbers and website traffic.

For competitors that pre-registered, remember to arrive on Friday for early move-in to increase your chance of getting an indoor spot. Even though pre-registrations and 10x20 entries have priority when we are assigning indoor spots - EVERYTHING is on a first come, first served basis. Early move-in starts at 5:00 PM on Friday, August 7th - so get there early!

The information for the 2oo9 Narada Lovings Scholarship has been posted. If you know anyone who is a senior this year and will be graduating from high school in 2009, please tell them to visit the scholarship section of the Show n' Shine website to download an application.

We would like to thank everyone who came out to support the show yesterday. Despite the passing showers at 8:00 - 9:00 am, we were still able to match the size of last years show with over 150 car and bike entries. We will have the winners and pictures posted shortly, and the video from the show for sale in about 3-4 weeks.

A special thank you also goes out to our sponsors and vendors for supporting us and making this show possible.

Get ready for next year's show - with a special surprise for our Dallas competitors (stay tuned for details.)

Time to put all of our hard work in effect! Just some reminders about the show:

For the Spectators:

Cost: Adults - $10
Children 10 & under - Free
We will have bounce houses, snow cones, balloons, and face painting for the kids. Bring out the whole family!

For the Competitors:

Car Show Registration - Day of Show: $25 (no exceptions)

Double Point USACi Entry Fees:
$40.00 for Non-Members
$35.00 for Members
Fun Runs (Tweak and Tune)
$20.00 for Two Runs

If you would like to enter both the Car Show and USACi Competition, the prices are as follows:
Day of the Show Registration
$55 for both entries for USACi non-members
$50 for both entries for USACi members.

Day of the Show Registration Cut-off Time is 2:30 PM
NEW! Early Move in is on Friday, August 8th from 5:00 pm - 10:00 pm. Security will be strongly enforced. All displays must be completed on the day of setup (as judging will occur that day…so if you move-in on Friday, you will be judged on Friday night.) Your display must be setup either before the opening of the show / end of setup or three hours after receiving a spot (whichever comes first) to be eligible for any display points.'

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR 2008 SCHOLARSHIP WINNER

We would like to extend our congratulations to the 2008 Narada Lovings Scholarship winner, Laura Blalock of Harmony High School. We had the most applicants ever this year, and the competition was tough. Thank you to all of the other students who applied.

All of the applicantions were judged on specific categories by four judges. These categories include their submitted reference letters, transcripts, documented community service, and high school activities. Out of a possible 400 points, Laura scored an amazing 377. All four judges gave her application over 90 points on a 100 point scale.

Laura will use her $1000 scholarship as she pursues her degree at University of Texas, Austin.

Congratulations, Laura. Great job!
