Extra Time on the 16th of December

Late-breaking news: Show Off! will go on for an extra hour on the night of the 16th of December. The doors will open as usual at 8 p.m., and the live music will start at 9 p.m. as it normally does. However, the live music will go on until 2 a.m. and the bar will stay open until 3 a.m. We hope that you can join us for this extra-long pre-Christmas treat, with host Matthew Gent and guest MD Gavin James.

December Fun

It has been far too long since the last Show Off! We hope that you will join us for the next one, on Friday the 16th of December. Matthew Gent is hosting, with guest MD (and Show Off! regular) Gavin James at the piano. It is shaping up to be a really wonderful night of pre-Christmas fun.

After the 16th of December we will be back on the 6th of January, when we resume our regular schedule of every other Friday night. Regular Show Off! MD Nathan Martin is due to return at the beginning of February.

We had another great night at our last Show Off!, on the 18th of November. Host Sarah Lark was brilliant and dazzling as always, and guest MD Michael Bradley made a delightful Show Off! debut. Matthew Gent came along to join in the fun, and he and Sarah treated us to another marvelous duet. In the photo to the left, Sarah, Matthew and Gavin are all adding vocal harmonies as Show Off! regular Niall Rooney sings (off-camera) accompanied by Michael.

We are excited to have Michael Bradley join us as guest MD at Show Off! on the 18th of November. Michael has acted as Musical Director of many shows, including Parade at the Southwark Playhouse (nominated Best Musical Director, Off West End Awards 2011), Spring Awakening (UK tour), Godspell (Union nominated Best Musical Director, Off West End Awards 2011); ShadowBall (HMDT); Cinderella (UK Productions, Assembly Halls Theatre); Legacy Falls (New Players - nominated Best Musical Director, Off West End Awards 2010) and Assassins (Union - winner Best Production, nominated Best Musical Director Off West End 2010).

Michael won Best New Score at the NSDF Awards 2009 for his debut musical, Six Ways, which premiered at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival before transferring to Jermyn Street in 2009. He is about to MD ‘Robinson Crusoe and the Caribbean Pirates’ for Qdos, starring John Barrowman in Glasgow SECC over the Christmas. Michael trained at The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts.

Sarah Lark will be hosting Show Off! on the 18th of November.

On the 21st of October, Magnus Gilljam made his Show Off! debut at the piano, with Matthew Gent hosting. Magnus proved popular with the crowd, and we very much enjoyed having him with us. We hope to invite him back again sometime soon.

Guests from A Night for Jennifer

On Friday the 21st of October we will be joined by cast members from A Night for Jennifer, a West End gala concert that will be taking place at the Lyric Theatre on the 31st of October. Joseph Connor and Sabrina Aloueche will be singing songs that will be featured in the concert.

We will also have a guest MD, Magnus Gilljam, on the 21st of October. We are excited to welcome Magnus to Show Off!

We are delighted to announce that cast members from the upcoming production of The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas at the Union Theatre - which stars Show Off!'s own Sarah Lark as Miss Mona - will be performing a few songs at this Friday's Show Off!

They join the already-announced guests Chloe Akam, Matt Straw and Abbie Jones, who will be performing songs from Musicality.

There will, as always, be plenty of opportunities for anyone to get up and sing (or to sing along with one of our singalongs), and host Sarah Lark and Musical Director Nathan Martin will also be sure to treat us to a few songs.

More Upcoming Guests!

We are delighted to announce more guests for upcoming nights of Show Off!

This Friday night, the 23rd of September, Nigel Richards will be joining us to sing a couple of songs from his upcoming show From Blasphemy to Rapture, which will take place at the Pheasantry on the 4th of October.

At the following Show Off!, on the 7th of October, we will be joined by Chloe Akam, Matt Straw and Abbie Jones from Musicality.

Fun Times

We have been having a fun summer at Show Off!, despite the somewhat questionable summer weather. Many of our regulars have surprised us with new songs, many new people have dazzled us with their turns, and sing-along participation seems to be growing stronger and more enthusiastic each time.

On the 12th of August, Matthew Gent stopped by after that night's performance of The Hired Man and even sang a duet with Sarah Lark, who was hosting that night. It was wonderful to have both of our hosts in the spotlight together, and their magnificent performance brought the house down.

We hope that you will join us on the 9th of September for what promises to be another great night.

Special Guests on the 29th of July

We have some exciting late-breaking news! On the 29th of July, Show Off! host Matthew Gent and Musical Director Nathan Martin will be joined by special guests from two upcoming shows who will be previewing material from those shows.

We will be joined by cast members from the Thomas Giron-Towers / Grant Martin musical Newland, which is premiering at this year's Camden Fringe in August, who will be performing songs from this new show.

Also joining us will be cast members from the revival of the Howard Goodall / Melvyn Bragg musical The Hired Man, which is coming to the Landor Theatre in August (the cast of which includes Show Off!'s own Matthew Gent). They will be previewing a few songs from the upcoming production.

As always, there will be plenty of opportunities for everybody to get up and sing a song or two (or more) over the course of the evening.

A Big July for Show Off!

Show Off! is having a great July. Last night, a sell-out crowd saw Tim Prottey-Jones and his guests Cassie Compton, Ross Hunter, Danielle Rayner and Lauren Samuels (and host Sarah Lark as well) perform songs from Tim's first album and preview songs from his upcoming second album. We also had brilliant performances from Nathan Martin and Sarah Lark as well as from beloved Show Off! regulars and a number of talented first-timers.

Our third night of Show Off! this month will take place on Friday the 29th of July. Matthew Gent will be hosting alongside Nathan Martin. We hope that you can join us for another fun summer night of music.

More Special Guests: Tim-Prottey Jones and Friends

We are looking forward to having Tim Prottey-Jones as a guest at Show Off! on the 15th of July. Tim will be joined by Cassie Compton, Danielle Rayner, Ross Hunter and Lauren Samuels. They will be singing songs from Tim's first album, More with every line, as well as exclusive previews of his upcoming CD, Surrounded by the Sounds. Sarah Lark, who will be hosting Show Off! on the 15th of July, will also perform with Tim.

As always, the doors will open at 8 p.m. and the live music will last until 1 a.m. Show Off! costs £10 on the door or online via PayPal (the link is at the top right corner of our homepage).
