We recently booked ourselves in at Dax Cafe to take advantage of a LivingSocial deal.

We walked in off the street near Fitzwilliam Square and were greeted by an elegant bust.

We were installed on a leather sofa near a grand fireplace.

The atmosphere was dark and cozy.

We sipped a glass of wine and looked over the tapas menu.

We tried a spinach and pear salad...

...calamari...

a latte macchiato and Belgian waffle with Nutella and cream in the Lufthansa Senator Lounge in Frankfurt airport...

I did things smartly this time and booked myself in at the 'by the hour' Eaton Transit Hotel in Delhi Airport. I arrived at 12:35

<img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/sidewalksafari/yfWO/~4/s7Qy3wTF950" height="1" width="1"/>

Dublin - Smithfield - Picture of the Day

I've said it before: good burritos are hard to find in Dublin. Boojum is still the reigning champion in my mind, but Little Ass Burritos was a welcome surprise. We chanced upon the place while walking through Rathmines and were lured in by the colorful facade and cheeky (literally) tag line.

We ordered a chicken burrito with 4-pepper rated salsa.

We peeled back the foil and were

<img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/sidewalksafari/yfWO/~4/xxM3w_w4aZQ" height="1" width="1"/>

Dublin - Brunch and Blooms

On a recent spring weekend, we treated ourselves to brunch and then walked off the calories at St. Stephen's Green. Bliss Cafe offers affordable meals tucked away in a side alley off Camden St. in Dublin.

We tried a veggie omelette and savory wrap.

After brunch, we revelled in the spring air. The flowers on the Green were simply gorgeous.

We eyed the whoopie pies...

Healthier options like fresh cheeses and produce caught our eye.

After driving for about an hour and half from Caen we arrived in Rouen. We ducked into a patisserie (La Chocolatiere) to get inside out of the rain. We enjoyed an espresso and 2 small, dense pastries

A surprisingly modern church sits at the center of La Place du Vieux Marché.

The inside was all stained glass and sharp angles. It was a striking bit of architecture.

On our last day in Normandy, we spent a rainy morning at the Caen Memorial Museum.

We entered the ticket lobby and marveled at the bomber hung overhead.

The compelling exhibits vaulted visitors into the heart of World War II.

The museum features a large bookstore. I picked up a copy of The Unfree French: Life Under the Occupation. This work of historical non-fiction by Richard

<img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/sidewalksafari/yfWO/~4/bAcMY27rxaE" height="1" width="1"/>

Normandy Eats - Le Vendome

We stopped for a pre-dinner drink of Pommeau de Normandie at the bar in Hotel Kyriad.

En route back to Rue du Vaugueux, we passed a strange display of mannequins on a pedestrianized strip in Caen.

We stopped into Le Vendome for supper.

Ensconced at a corner table, we tried another Camembert salad plus a poultry based terrine.

For our entree, we tried fish and lamb.

We spent Easter Sunday paying our respects to the veterans of World War II that liberated France by storming the beaches of Normandy. Our first stop was Pegasus Bridge. The Pegasus Bridge Cafe has the distinction of being the first house liberated during the D-Day invasion.

We walked across the bridge (a replica of the original which now sits in the nearby museum) and along the canal.

Back in Delhi, we took the Metro from Connaught Place to Chandni Chowk (Old Delhi). We spent some time exploring the jumble of markets along narrow alleys. Various streets specialized in spices, watches, fabrics, and more.

We were in town a few weeks before Holi and many vendors were selling brightly colored powders for the upcoming festivities.

We finished our tour of Agra with a stop at the 'mini' Taj Mahal, just across the Yamuna River from the real deal. Just like the Taj, the mini-Taj featured a stately red-brown entrance gate.

I liked this detailed sign just inside the entrance.

1. Admission tickets of all monuments are available here.

2. Wheel chairs are available here.

3. Stretchers are available here. (What?!)
