Girl watching is a must on the beach right? Come on now you know I’m busting your chops here guys but when I go to the beach why do you think I wear my big pair of sunglasses?

Yes, there will be a few screams along the way as you and your friends or family leave the back of the boat without a drop of water on you and as you begin to float in the air and you feel this mad rush of wind and feel the warm sun on your face as you go higher and higher in the sky.

About that time you look over at your sweetheart and it’s all smiles from everyone and your taking pictures as fast as you can because hey let’s face it this is something you don’t do everyday.

Think about going up with 3 of your best friends all together as one as you shoot to the sky and then the boat captain decides to give all 3 of you a little dip in the awesome crystal blue ocean.

Just as you dip your toes in the water and you all about to freak out the captain slams on the throttle and off you go again into the blue sky. This is parasailing at it’s finest and you all are having a blast with your friends on Siesta Key Beach Beach.

Now it’s time to slowly come back to the boat as the first mate starts bringing you back and you are thinking here we go again were going to get another dip in the water but to your surprise you settle back onto the boat with all smiles and high fives upon landing.

So toss on some casual clothes and some flip flops and lets go do some bar hopping!

I would go to the Village first and check out the Daiquiri Deck Raw Bar they have over 30 different daiquiri flavors and each one taste better then the last one. So smooth!

Plus it’s “Sarasota’s Favorite Place to Meet” and oh by the way the band starts after 3pm. on the weekend! So check it out it’s a cool and fun place.

Next, I would walk across the street to Gilligan’s Island Bar and Grill and plop down on the bar stool and order one of there famous “Margarita’s” that are to die for. They also have a cool outside deck area that looks and feels like your in the tropic’s. They also have dancing and a band that rocks the house.

So, last but not least is one of my favorite watering holes the Old Salty Dog and plus we call it “world famous” around here because not only are the drinks super awesome, I mean they been doing this since 1986 but the Travel Channel’s Man vs Food Adam Richman showed up to challenge the super huge 1′ long beer battered hot dog.

So, there you have it just a small list of fine drinking establishments and keep coming back because there is more then one side of this island you no?

All yes a beautiful girl surfer and some crystal blue water. What more could you ask for? How about some awesome sand sculpting from 11 teams right on our Siesta Key Beach. Yep! It’s finally here and the fun has already started.

Yes, I was by the beach today and man it was crazy everyone is working so hard to get ready for The Siesta Key Beach Crystal Classic Master Sand Sculpting Competition starts tomorrow November 18-21, 2010.

Let the fun begin and the weather is going to be awesome all weekend. So pack up the kids and get mom and dad in the car and it’s beach time. Yes for a family of 4 it’s just $10 for all 4 days. You must keep up with your favorite sculptor right?

You will be blown away when you see them put there magic to the sand and water to make some of the most crazy designs you have ever seen. Did I say a work of art? You bet just like a artist paints a painting so goes the master sand men and women.

So, I must ask who will be your favorite??

Don’t forget the family camera because this will be something you will send to all of your family and friends. Right? Come on let’s show off Siesta Key Beach and our warm weather awesome crystal blue water.

Wait I have an idea? Because our sand is the whitest sand in the world why not add a little h2o and bingo we have sand snowballs! Eat your heart out Minnesota!

Crystal Blue Waters

Yes, as the winter sets in up north we are having the most beautiful weather right now. We have been blessed this year because all of the hurricanes have missed us. Yeah! I started my first Siesta Key Beach radio show this past Thursday and you can listen to it on our site.

Joyce one of my fans wrote to tell me that I loved the word [Fantastic] a little to much but hey when your passionate about what you do our minds seem to let go and the words just start flowing.

I chose not to have any incoming callers on my first show because I wanted to make sure I knew how to use the software program and not embarrass my callers. But now I am ready to let it go and can’t wait to lighten up and have some fun.

I just want to get the businesses on the Siesta Key Beach excited about the show and interview some of them and let them tell you about what they have to offer our visitors and caller guests.

I was giving an overview of some of the businesses on the key but now I want to get up and close to the owners and make it fun. After all they know there business better then I do. When I’m working on the key I go to a lot of the businesses and most don’t have a clue who I am.

But, now the time has come to open up a little and have some of the businesses get involved to bring you all the great services offered by them.

Plus, this time of the year we start to get busy and all of our northern friends start coming down to enjoy the holidays with us.

The fun really kicks off with The Siesta Key Beach Crystal Classic starting November 18-21, 2010 and it’s all about the sand! Check it out here www.crystalsand.org

Yes, it’s Master Sand Sculpting Competition and this is a BIG deal for the beach. I will be there taking some photo’s and some video and keeping you posted everyday about the contest.

Plus it’s all for a “Fantastic” cause. Proceeds will benefit Mote Marine Laboratory’s Sea Turtle Conservation and Research Program.

This is the first time for a competition of this magnitude to be held on Siesta Beach. We’re planning on it becoming an annual event that will bring people from all over to our beautiful beach every year.

Some of the sculptors will give free lessons to adults and children who have paid the admission of only $5 that’s good for 4 days Thursday – Sunday. We want people to have the opportunity to view the sculptures as they evolve. We also have a 4-day family admission of $10, good for a family of four with children under the age of 16.

There will be a vendor village of food and retail items from Friday – Sunday. The Mote Marine Mobile Aquarium will be on site. We’ll have bands playing at the Show Mobile Saturday and Sunday. On Sunday we’ll hold an amateur sand sculpting contest that will be judged by our professional masters.

Bob Harrigan, ABC7 meteorologist, State Senator Nancy Detert, and S.K. Chamber of Commerce President  Cheryl Gaddie are among our judges for the Master Competition.
Proceeds for this exciting festival will go to Mote Marine Laboratory’s Sea Turtle Conservation Program.

The Siesta Key Beach Crystal Classic Master Sand Sculpting Competition will have 22 masters teamed up into 11 teams to build the biggest and baddest sand creations you have ever seen.

The sand Masters have some wild imaginations and they bleed talent and sand to build you castles that reach for the sky. Yes, only water and sand and the tools of there trade is how they will mold and form there ideas into creations that will blow your mind.

As you watch the sand masters at work you lose sight that all they are working with is sand and water. But just not any sand right? The whitest sand beach in the world is made up of 99% white crystal sand and trillions of crystal sand particles that with a little Gulf of Mexico water can bring magic to our beach.

Sure we all played in the sand as kids growing up along our beach but I bet you never believed you could create a beautiful sand sculptor like you will see at this event.

Join the fun and make a day of it and listen to the bands and visit the vendor village for some lunch and a cool drink. Make sure you also check out the Mote Marine Aquarium on site.

Your $5.00 entry fee is for all 4 days of the event. The proceeds will go to help Mote Marine Laboratory’s Sea Turtle Conservation Program.  So have some fun and help a great cause also.

Special thanks goes out to Sarasota County Parks and Recreation Department along with all of the volunteers that will make this event a winner.

So I hate to be the one to tell you but I know what your thinking? Just what is the weather in Siesta Key Beach Beach right now anyway? Awe 84 nice breeze and sunny!

Yes, I feel your pain but hey get on your computer and flights to Siesta Key Beach Beach Florida are a bargain right now. That’s right come on down before the holidays before we get real busy.

So, let me twist your arm a bit because once I can convince you to make the trip to our little slice of heaven you will have the airlines on speed dial.

First, think about this for a moment. Siesta Key Beach Beach is rated #2 in the world for it’s beach. Why you ask? Think of your most softest pillow you have ever owned, I mean the one you can’t sleep a wink without it.

Well, can you believe we have pillow soft sand ? Look, think about all the beaches in the world and we’re #2.

Our sand is known as quartz type sand and Siesta Key Beach Beach is the only beach in the world that has it.
