In light of the ongoing “severe humanitarian crisis” in Afghanistan, the United Nations (UN) has voiced its concerns regarding the country’s escalating human rights issues, especially those faced by women and girls. This comes as Pakistan introduces new plans, which the UN warns may have “serious implications” for the Afghan nationals who’ve been compelled to exit their homeland.

The UN refugee agency, UNHCR, and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) jointly expressed their concerns in a recent statement, suggesting that these new directives could inadvertently cause significant protection risks for returning Afghans. Both agencies caution that the mandated return of Afghan nationals may lead to numerous human rights breaches, including but not limited to the unfortunate separation of families and the unwarranted deportation of underage individuals.

The ongoing situation brings into focus Pakistan’s noteworthy role as one of the world’s preeminent refugee-hosting nations. As per the latest UNHCR data from August, the country offers refuge to approximately 1.3 million registered individuals who were compelled to abandon their homes, with a staggering 99% of these being Afghan natives.

Amidst these unfolding events, the two UN agencies have once again emphasized their call to all nations worldwide. They urge these countries to “suspend forcible returns of Afghan nationals”. Furthermore, they champion the cause that any future repatriations to Afghanistan should be carried out ensuring the safety, dignity, and voluntariness of the individuals involved.

While acknowledging Pakistan’s indisputable right over its domestic policies, as well as its responsibility to ensure public safety and manage its resident population, the UN bodies took a moment to commend their long-standing, fruitful collaboration with the Pakistani government.

In a concluding note, the joint statement from UNHCR and IOM recognized and lauded Pakistan’s unwavering hospitality towards Afghan nationals that has spanned over four decades. Despite the myriad challenges faced during this period, Pakistan’s commitment has been commendable. The agencies also highlighted their readiness to offer continued assistance, expressing their intent to “support in developing a comprehensive and sustainable mechanism to register and manage Afghan nationals”. This includes aiding those who might be in immediate need of international protection.

Kabul, Afghanistan: In the wake of the tragic earthquake in Herat, which claimed the lives of over 2,400 individuals and injured more than 2,000, nations and global leaders have rallied together in an overwhelming show of support for Afghanistan.

Herat experienced a jolt with a magnitude of 6.3 on Saturday, followed by several aftershocks that further intensified the distress in the region.

The U.S. Secretary of State conveyed Washington’s concern over the calamity on social media platform X, reiterating that the U.S. is closely monitoring the situation. He further assured that “our humanitarian partners are on the ground, delivering urgent assistance to those affected.”

The sentiment was echoed by Saudi Arabia, as its foreign ministry shared profound sympathies and sorrow for all affected by the earthquake.

The immediate neighbors were also quick to step up. Pakistan’s NDMA (National Disaster Management Authority) chairman, Inam Haider Malik, led a vital session involving the Pakistani ambassador in Afghanistan and other key representatives. They confirmed the dispatch of relief items encompassing food, medications, tents, and blankets. Additionally, Search and Rescue Teams are primed for deployment to assist in the disaster-stricken areas.

Lending their condolences, the UAE’s ministry of foreign affairs emphasized their unwavering support and unity with the Afghan populace during these challenging times.

At an international level, the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Hissein Brahim Taha, expressed his heartfelt condolences on social media. Taha pledged the OIC’s unyielding support for Afghanistan, standing in unity with its citizens.

In the face of adversity, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, Afghanistan’s deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, extended gratitude and said the Islamic Emirate is open to aid and assistance from any country willing to help the victims.

This international rallying cry showcases the global community’s commitment to standing together during challenging moments, emphasizing the enduring spirit of humanity.

After August 15, 2021, Afghanistan lost its 20-year achievements. From freedom of speech to the presence of male and female students in the same class, it has become an unattainable dream for the students of this country. The youth believe that their ideals have been destroyed and they no longer have the chance to live in this cursed land. Abdullah is the nickname of a medical student who, in an interview with the Sighttimes website, he shows his disappointed with suffering the ups and downs in the geography known as Afghanistan. He says that all his dreams have been wasted and now he only thinks about how to survive and if he gets the chance, he will take his bag and travel outside of Afghanistan.
Abdullah says: “I can’t believe that in one year, so many changes can be seen in our land. Ever since the universities reopened, we have lost hope for a bright tomorrow and learning standardized lessons. Now all our intelligence and senses have been lost.” We want to get out of this country. If I know that tomorrow I can legally leave this country, I will leave Afghanistan without hesitation. Because there is no hope for me to study at the university in this country anymore, in the past we used to get excellent grades and we had a rivalry in university, but now we are all worried that something will happen to us tomorrow.”

The Taliban’s arbitrary treatment of students and professors has led to the situation that now a number of university professors also have the same view, Mohammad Younis,a professor at one of Afghanistans universities says: “The Taliban are currently trying to transform the higher education system of Afghanistan as they want. This group is trying to make extensive changes in the Afghan education system. The Taliban are actually now involved in all student matters, even this In the current situation, the group wants to interfere in the private lives of students as well. Separating classes, changing the way students dress, putting pressure on professors are some of the important things that the Taliban want to use to control their terror in university environments. ”

However, a number of officials of the Islamic Emirate, in a conversation with the Sighttimes website, believe that after this group took control of Afghanistan, the academic environment has witnessed positive developments. Abu Khaled is one of the security officials of Kabul University. He believes that after the establishment of the Taliban regime in Afghanistan, more students are coming to study their lessons than ever before. He says: “Since the establishment of the Islamic Emirate in Afghanistan, the situation has completely changed. Alhamdulillah, our students attend their classes in a completely Islamic environment, and now we have been able to introduce Islamic Sharia in the academic environment of Kabul University.”

It is believed that with the establishment of the Islamic Emirate or the Taliban regime in Afghanistan, this group has brought the country’s education system to a standstill. According to higher education experts, the efforts of the Taliban have actually overthrown the international standards of teaching in the country. According to these experts Afghanistan has been backward for at least two more decades in the field of higher education.

While tensions between Russia and Ukraine have risen to unprecedented levels in recent weeks, and international relations experts believe that a military confrontation between the two countries is possible at any moment, some foreign media have now reported Three European countries have pledged to provide Ukraine with anti-tank and anti-aircraft missiles to defend Ukraine’s geography, which could escalate tensions between the two countries.

According to foreign media, Estonia, Lithuania, and Lithuania have stated that they will help Ukraine with anti-tank and anti-aircraft missiles in case of a possible Russian attack. The media claimed that the three countries said in a joint statement on Friday that the Baltic states had decided to respond to Ukraine’s needs and provide additional defense assistance to Russia due to increasing Russian military pressure in and around Ukraine.

The joint statement also said that the aid would strengthen Ukraine’s ability to defend its territory and population against a possible Russian invasion. It is reported that about 100,000 Russian troops are stationed near the Ukrainian border. In 2014, the Russian government annexed the Crimean peninsula of Ukraine to Russia. The increase in Russian forces around Ukraine has provoked many reactions. NATO calls Russia a provocative move and stresses that the continuation of this situation is intolerable for the alliance.

On the other hand, the EU member states have stated that with the increase of Moscow’s military movements in the border areas with Ukraine, the country is fully prepared for the invasion of Ukraine. European politicians have called on member states to respond to a potential threat posed by the Russians. Meanwhile, some military experts in Europe believe that Ukraine should now face Moscow more. European countries need to provide military assistance to Ukraine to strengthen this capability.

In recent weeks, movements of the Resistance Front have claimed to have launched several guerrilla operations against Taliban fighters, killing dozens of the group’s fighters. In the most recent case, a spokesman for the Resistance Front stated that in clashes between the Taliban and some forces affiliated with the National Resistance Front in Balkh, Commander Jamshid Kouhestani was killed, and eight of his men. According to reports, Jamshid Kouhestani was an officer in the security forces in the former regime, and after the Islamic Emirate came to power, he joined the Resistance Front.

A spokesman for the National Resistance Front also claimed that the Taliban had entered residents’ homes after a clash with Commander Jamshid and had brutally killed Haji Mehrullah, one of Balkh’s deadly elders, along with the family’s son, young bride, and baby.

Sebghatullah Ahmadi, a spokesman for the Afghan National Resistance Front, said eight front members had been killed in clashes with Taliban insurgents in Balkh province. Mr. Ahmadi wrote on his Facebook page that the incident took place on Thursday night – 30 Aquarius – in one of the villages of the deadly district of Balkh province.

“Our struggle against darkness and occupation has never stopped and has continued around the clock,” he said. “Last night, Commander Abdul Qadir, known as Commander Jamshid Kouhestani, was killed along with eight other high-ranking fighters committed to the liberation of Afghanistan in their hometown of Bakhtar village in the deadly district of Balkh in a one-on-one battle with savage Kharijite Taliban gunmen.”

A spokesman for the National Resistance Front also claimed that the Taliban had entered residents’ homes after a clash with Commander Jamshid and had brutally killed Haji Mehrullah, one of Balkh’s deadly elders, along with the family’s son, young bride, and baby. He stressed that the Taliban’s crimes would not go unanswered and be accounted for at the right time and place.

This incident is taking place in Balkh. According to reports, the forces of the Resistance Front have been able to inflict casualties on the fighters of the Islamic Emirate in some provinces of the country by launching guerrilla operations. The officials of the Islamic Emirate have not accepted the case, and it is emphasized that no action has been taken against the forces of the Islamic Emirate in recent weeks. On the other hand, some commanders of the Resistance Front insist that they will soon launch retaliatory attacks against the Taliban.

After the fall of the previous regime, all security systems in Kabul and the provinces were destroyed by former government officials and US forces. In the latest case, the Taliban’s interior ministry said it could reactivate Kabul’s intelligence center and security cameras.

According to reports, the Ministry of Interior says that after the fall of the previous government, many sections of the ministry, including the Telecommunications Department, the database section, and other sections, were deactivated. Still, after more than five months, they have been reactivated. Senior Taliban officials believe this is a fundamental achievement for the Taliban. Its reactivation could help the Taliban Interior Ministry fight terrorism.

Engineer Mohammad Ibrahim, director of communications and general technology at the Ministry of Interior, confirmed the news and stressed that they could reactivate the system in the shortest possible time. “In the past, foreign troops were fully managing the data center,” said Mr. Ibrahim. “After the conquest, nothing in this data center was active, and the whole system was destroyed.”

“After the transformation of the data center, it was completely closed. We activated the generator and the UPS to reactivate the data center, and we expect that with the activation of this system,” “We will be able to provide basic services to the citizens, and this office will be able to provide facilities for the people without any problems.”

According to Interior Ministry officials, security cameras have been activated in Kabul and other parts of the country. “This management has been able to activate thousands of security cameras in the center and other provinces of Afghanistan,” Engineer Mohammad Ibrahim, head of the Interior Ministry’s Department of Communications and Public Technology, told the media. We hope that these cameras can help secure other cities. “We believe that activating these cameras could be a key step in preventing crime.”

On the other hand, some military experts and citizens of the country consider the activation of security cameras in the center and provinces of the country important despite the reduction of criminal offenses and expect that with the reactivation of the database and security cameras of the Ministry of Interior, the rate of criminal offenses Decrease.
Sadegh Shinwari, a military expert, says that activating security scanners at the entrance gates to the capital , if professionally monitored and managed, will positively reduce criminal offenses and the entry of prohibited items. Ahsan will be prevented.

According to the Ministry of Interior, in the past, the information department or data center of the Ministry of Interior was managed by foreigners, so that Afghans did not have access to it, but now the staff of the Ministry of Interior has full access to this department.

According to the latest World Open Door Watch report, Afghanistan is the most dangerous country in the world for Christians. This ranking was published for the first time after the Taliban. According to World Watch Doors, Afghanistan is in the top 50 countries with the worst persecution of Christians in 2022. Afghanistan has replaced North Korea as the most dangerous place for Christians, the World Open Doors Observer reported Thursday. North Korea topped the list of locations hazardous to Christians for 20 years, the report said; But with the Taliban taking control of Afghanistan, the country ranks first.

The organization warns that Christians who remain in Afghanistan are known as “war booty” for the Taliban. Open Door Watch has stated that the Taliban go from house to house to find Christians. Once tracked, they are identified and then killed. According to the human rights group, many of Afghanistan’s small and hidden Christian populations have now fled to rural areas or refugee camps in neighboring countries. Still, many of these countries are also hostile to Christians. “Afghanistan’s being at the top of the World Watch list is deeply worrying,” said Henrietta Blyth, chief executive of the British-Irish Open Doors.

Afghanistan is at the top of the list, North Korea is second, Somalia is third, Libya and Yemen are fourth and fifth, and Malaysia is 50th most dangerous for Christians. Christianity in Afghanistan has a small following, most of whom have fled Afghanistan due to decades of war. The report comes as the Taliban’s Islamic Emirate gained political power in Afghanistan for the second time at least five months ago. According to reports, since the re-establishment of the Taliban, Afghan citizens have faced unprecedented difficulties in all aspects of life. Murder, imprisonment, and detention are serious issues facing Afghans.

In late December and early January, the Afghan Taliban reportedly disrupted a fence on the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, and Taliban fighters abducted barbed wire from the Pakistani army. Following the incident on January 7, the Taliban briefly detained seven Pakistani militants on the border in Paktika province and then released them.

According to Abdul Basit, an Arab News correspondent and columnist, talks between Pakistan and the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) with the support of the Afghan Taliban had already ended before the tensions. Despite a month-long ceasefire from November 9 to December 9 last year, the talks failed due to a lack of trust and unresolved differences between the two sides. They escalated the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) offensive against the government. In December, the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed responsibility for 45 terrorist attacks, the highest number in 2012.

Several Pakistani media outlets have reportedly published reports claiming that the Taliban support the Pakistani Taliban incitement. Pakistani media also reported that the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) is currently using the best weapons left behind by US forces, all of which the Taliban have acquired since the fall of the previous regime. The media also claimed that Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) fighters were now using US M-16 rifles and M4 assault rifles in a nightmare with the Pakistani military, equipped with night-vision facilities. Thus, the militant group increased its sniper attacks on Pakistani security forces at night.

Following the resumption of Taliban rule, Pakistan expected its security concerns about provoking the Pakistani Taliban in exchange for its assistance in reaching an agreement with the United States to be eased. The February 2020 agreement between the United States and the Taliban in Doha, mediated by Pakistan, paved the way for the withdrawal of the United States and the return of the Taliban to power. Contrary to Pakistan’s expectations, the Taliban released thousands of PTI prisoners during the occupation of Afghanistan. Last August, Islamabad submitted a list of elements the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) wanted to the Taliban interim government. The Taliban also formed a three-member commission to investigate Pakistan’s allegations.

Contrary to the Taliban’s general assurances that they would not allow Afghan territory to be used against any other country, their response to Pakistan’s security concerns has been weak. To deeply understand the Afghan Taliban’s tension with Pakistan and their reluctance to take action against the Pakistani Taliban, it is essential to understand the deep ties between the two militant groups.

The Taliban have close ideological and ethnic ties to Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan. The militants and the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) commander consider the Taliban leader, Mullah Hebatullah Akhundzadeh, their emir and have pledged allegiance to him. During a parliamentary session in September last year, Pakistani security agencies described the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and the Taliban as two sides of the same coin.

While Israel has been accused of angering the Palestinian people and the Palestinian people have been protesting against the Israelis for decades, Israel’s permanent representative to the United Nations has now complained to Palestinians that they have thrown stones at Israeli citizens. The Israeli ambassador to the United Nations has reportedly filed a formal complaint with the United Nations, saying that the Palestinians attack Israeli citizens with stones. Still, the world has remained silent, and no one has ever heard the screams of Israeli citizens.

“Over the past year, 1,775 stone attacks have been carried out by Palestinian terrorists, but the voice of the world,” said Gilad Ardan, Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations, citing one of the stones used to attack Israeli citizens. It does not come. ” Mr. Erdan described the stoning as a “terrorist attack” that is not covered by UN reports or discussed by the Security Council. “The Palestinians are throwing stones at Israeli men, women, children, and children every day.”

“The same kind of attacks took the life of four-year-old Adel Beaton. Will, you at least condemn this attack by Palestinians on Israeli civilians,” the Israeli ambassador told members of the Security Council. “Despite all the threats in the Middle East, including yesterday’s terrorist attack on the UAE by the Houthis, Iran’s proxy group, the same Palestinian lies are being spread. But the world in “He is silent about the Israeli citizens who witness such incidents from time to time and are harmed.”

During the Security Council meeting on the Middle East peace process, the participants presented their respective views on the Israeli-Palestinian peace process. In some of these positions, there was an emphasis on the dual solution of establishing an independent Palestinian state and the condemnation of Israeli settlements. Israel has filed a formal complaint against the actions of Palestinian citizens at the UN Security Council, which has reportedly escalated tensions between Israel and some Middle Eastern countries more than ever. Middle Eastern countries believe that Israel is trying to usurp the geography of Palestine by continuing its settlement process.
