You wanna know something?  Buyer of hype is my new middle name. Yup! And Urban Decay is the King & Queen of feeding us makeup junkies that same said “hype”. On December 1, 2011 Urban Decay did a soft launch of the new Naked 2 palette. And you already know, I hopped online and bought it. Will I ever get over hyped up products?

Retailing for $50.00 this new neutral palette come housed in a sleek taupe metal pencil like case with a hinged lid, embossed with chocolate-brown artwork. Naked2 has 12 pigment-rich eyeshadows, including five new shades, that can be used to create soft natural looks or bold dramatic looks. The shades in this palette range from pale to deep, matte to sparkly. The new Naked2 palette also comes with a travel-size Lip Junkie Lipgloss in Naked, and a double-ended, cruelty-free Good Karma Shadow/Crease Brush (available only with palette).

Now in all honesty this is not a “MUST HAVE” palette. The colors included are similar to the original palette. The only noticeable differences are the color tones, Naked 1 has warmer color tones (in my opinion) while the Naked 2 has more neutral warm tones. The packaging on the Naked 2 is much better than the original (love the full length mirror) but its a bit heavier, which may pose as a problem for some but, for me I like the sturdiness of the Naked2 better. I’m also not a huge fan of the travel-size Lip Junkie Lipgloss. Don’t get me wrong, the product is nice, has a great sheer nude look and feel but, I’ve come accustomed to the travel-size primer potions. It would have been nice if the Naked2 came with a primer potions not normally provided in the sets like “Greed” or “Sin”.

Side bar real quick? Why is “Half Baked” included in like almost all of UD palettes? It’s a great color has outstanding pay-off and all but, OK I’m so over seeing it offered.

As with all, of Urban Decay eyeshadows they are well pigmented sometimes, overly glittery and the matte shades usually aren’t represented as much as we would like. This palette would be perfect for anyone who hasn’t purchased the original and who likes the new packaging.  The  cost for the value is great especially when you think about how much their individual shadows normally cost. So far my favorite shades from this palette are Pistol, Blackout, YDK and Snake Bite.  They are all dupable but, the pigmentation on these wow me. I sure hope that if Urban Decay decides to launch a Naked 3 palette, that it will have more matte eyeshadows. With that being said, I like this palette. I don’t think having both Naked palettes is needed but, if you love neutrals you will  find yourself buying this one.

The Naked 2 palette is currently sold online at urbandecay.com , Ulta.com and Sephora.com.
It is available at Ulta stores and according to Sephora’s website it will be in store at the end of January.

I see loads of repromotes and I’m so excited to see Brash eyeshadow making a coming back.

Mascara is one of the most intriguing makeup products to me. There is a new one introduced like every day and they all claim to do many different things, from volumizing, to lengthening ,to even making you appear to have on false ones.  As you all know I’m a big sucker for hype. Especially mascara hype. I know the advertisements and commercials are all fake but, it’s the claims that get me every time.

Well say hello to Maybelline’s new but, not so new Illegal Lengths Fiber Extension mascara.  Illegal Lengths was a mascara that Maybelline sold  years ago that was discontinued. They have since re-introduced and revamped the mascara by adding  fiber extensions into its formula. Retailing for about $7 bucks at most mass market locations.  This mascara promises to extend lashes while adding volume.  It took me three uses to finally see the little fibers on the wand and on my lashes. I’ve never tried any mascara that had fiber extensions in the formula but, after reading several reviews about different fiber extension mascaras, some people found that the little fibers irriated their eyes.  I haven’t had any issues with the fibers getting into my eyes or flaking when touched with this one.

Today was actually the first day that I used this mascara ( I’ve been using this mascara for about a week)  and really noticed that my lashes looked longer, not fuller but longer. Will there ever be a mascara that gives me plump voluminous lashes? Even my co-workers noticed the length. They asked me what lashes I had on(because they looked so natural)  and when I stated they were my lashes they immediately asked what mascara was I using.  lol That made me smile because, while I want fuller lashes having longer looking ones isn’t bad at all.

I can’t compare it to other fiber extension mascaras but, I really like this mascara.  The packaging is similar if not the same (just a different color) as the Lash Stiletto. If you’re in the market for a new mascara, or you like trying new ones out. I would definitely say give this one a try. It’s not going to give you voluminous lashes but it will make them look and appear longer.  This product isn’t available on the Maybelline website but, I think that’s because it’s a spring launch that just has been landing in stores early.

While in one of my favorite MAC stores a couple days ago, trying to get my hands on “Pink Pigeon” lipstick from the Iris Apfel collection (no luck it is sold out everywhere) I was asked by the makeup artist if I wanted to attend a special event for a collection coming out in February. Upon further explanation from the artist. She explained that the collection name is “Shop Shop Shop/Cook Cook Cook” and that its all about the pastel colors of spring, etc. She couldn’t disclose product names or share anything more concrete.

Well after seeing the invite. I, of course signed up for the event, as I am curious about its possiblitlies and because I haven’t seen or heard anything about it from other blogger or makeup lovers.  Anyway,here are a couple pictures of the invitation that has some of the possible product images.  Do I see pastel colored paint pots? Are tendertones making a comeback?  Is that a giveaway coupon on the invite?  I can’t wait to find out more about this collection because, as soon as I do, I’ll share the deets with you all.
