Public Service Announcement... Lets Help Haiti Now

On Tuesday January 12, 2010, Haiti was devasted with a 7.2 magnitude earthquake. And this small country needs our help. I will not go into to much detail as you all have seen the news reports, videos and pictures but I will ask you to lend a helping hand by donating to help this country get much needed assistance and supplies.

CNN & Whitehouse.Gov both have a full comprehensive list of organizations and charities that providing assistance to those affected in Haiti .

I've made my donations to Yele and American Red Cross. My job has also agreed to match any money donated up to 1,000 bucks. I wish I had more to give but giving/doing something is better than doing nothing.

Hello Beautiful People,

Happy New Year and all that good stuff :-)

I know some of you may be wondering where I've been . Well, I have been hard at work on my new site. Yes friends I'm moving. Moving on to a new site and new platform (Wordpress) and because of that I haven't posted much. I am still writing reviews, taking pictures of my FOTD's & NOTD's for you all so that when the site is up and running you all will have loads of interesting things to read and explore.

In the meantime while I'm working all the kinks out on my new site you can follow me on Twitter. Where I occasionally share my latest hauls, FOTD's, etc.

I hope that you all can hang in there with me because , I have some new & improved things in store for you like, Youtube (yes, I'm going to finally take that leap), contests, new series and more giveaways.

Diddy's Wax Figurine Unveiling

Yesterday, Sean "Diddy" Combs helped unveil his very own wax statue at the New York Madame Tussauds Museum location. This by far as to be the best wax duplication I have ever seen. Mr. Diddy looks great both in wax and real life.

Not only is Whitney Houston back in the music game. She is also back to looking fabulous on the January cover of InStyle magazine. Ms. Houston looks stunning, refreshed and renewed. In her article she dishes about her return to the music industry, happiness, family and even her best beauty tip. Which just so happens to be washing her face with Neutrogena. My favorite quote in the Q&A article was " Being back is like being home again". And I am definitely glad she decided to come on back home :-)

Yes, ladies and gents, the Oscar winning leading lady has joined the Lancome family and isn't it a perfect fit. I have always wondered why she wasn't a cosmetics spokesperson especially with her gorgeous eyes and full lips. She will definitely have women everywhere running to Lancome counters to pick up whatever she adorns. Advertisements featuring Pretty Woman Julia Roberts will break in 2010.

L'oreal HIP Chrome Eyeliners Review and Photos

L'oreal, just keeps right on impressing me. First it was the HIP shadow duos, then the cream shadow paints and now this. The color chrome eyeliners. These liners are metallic, creamy, smooth and have long lasting power. These remind me of MAC's Kohl pencils. As they both glide on easily and are both smudge-proof (unless you have super watery eyes).

True to color and texture, these are must haves in your makeup kit or personal stash. What I love most about these drugstore super finds is that if you catch them on sale they are approximatly 5 bucks a piece. When not on sale these retail at $9.99, so make sure to check out your sale ads to get the BOGO (buy one get one free) deal.

My one and only complaint about these liners are that if you are a contact wearer beware. Now what I'm about to say could be coming from a newbie contact wearer's prespective but, when I wear the "Gold Charge" eyeliner it smears the heck out of my contacts making me feel like I'm living in a cloud. It was so bad that I had to remove my contacts not once but twice in the same day, to remove all the smeared gold shimmer. My contacts looked like a gold disco ball :-(

Overall, I would recommend these eye liners to anyone who is looking for bold, metallic colors that show up well and stays put all day.

While strolling through my local Costco picking up the Kirkland Brush Set. I stumbled upon this cute set by Stila. This eye set comes with almost everything a girl needs to achieve great eye looks. Costco is currently offering two eye sets and they are cleverly named "Eye Set 1" and "Eye Set 2". The set includes: (1) eye shadow quad , (1) Liquid eye liner, (1) Major Lash Mascara, and (1) All over shadow brush.

If you ever used Stila shadows then you know how soft, smooth and buttery the textures are. Retailing at $15.99 this set to me was an awesome deal. I have tried every product included and I must say I am most impressed with the all over shadow brush. As most of you know, I am a sucker for a good brush and this one is great a blending shadows together and placing color if need be.

Coach Exclusive Holiday Nail Polish Gift Set

As usual Coach is offering up a new collection of handbags and accessories just in time for the holiday and this year if you spend $200 you will get an exclusive nail polish set. WHAT? Coach is doing nail polishes now. I need this nail polish set but Coach has nothing in the handbag area that interest me.

Not sure how big or small these polishes are but the gift set includes 4 shades and from the picture above they look yummy especially that antique gold shade. I can only assume that giving out this free set is a way to spark interest and to get the nail polishes exposure and hype. Either way, I truly hope that Coach launches these polishes for individual sale or as a set without a $200 purchase soon.

Flirt! Limited Edition Eyeshadow Set Review and Photos

Last year there were countless blog reviews on Flirt's limited edition eyeshadow sets. When I finally realized that there was a Khol's in my area I went looking to purchase the set and to my dismay they were sold out. Well this year I lucked up and was able to snag one of these sets for myself.

Retailing at $29.99 and currently on sale for $26.99, the looks are limitless with these 40 limited edition eyeshadow shades. You can mix and match. Wear one or wear 'em all. Create simple everyday looks or bold looks. I have never tried any of the flirt products before and this made a very good first impression.

Flirt, which is owned by Estee Lauder , eye shadows are nicely pigmented. Some of the 40 shadows have a very creamy texture while some are a bit on the powdery side. Either way they apply nicely. **FYI, the powdery matte shadows may request a little extra packing on**. There are no names for each individual shadow but you can come up with your own creative names if you like. There are several shades that are dupable to MAC colors. I think this set would make a perfect holiday gift for someone who is looking to play around with shadows without shelling hundreds of dollars.

Every year around this time Costco puts out a unique brush set for the holiday. Like last years set which I discussed here, this 2009 Costco brush set doesn't disappoint.

This 15 peice set includes the following:

I like that Kirkland went back to the black handled brushes as I was always concerned about staining or loosing the stone from the white handled '08 set. My favorite brush out of this set is the flat top bronzer. It works perfect for buffing in powders. My only draw back about this set is that I want at least one natural hair brush to be included but, that minor.

Musiq Monday Spotlight" Lady Gaga

As you all know, I adore Lady Gaga's fashion style and total uniqueness. But I also love her sound and her vocal ability. She speaks her mind and expresses herself through her music and look. Though I don't think she is the best singer in the world. She can indeed hold a solid note compared to other pop artists these days.

Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, know to all by her stage name Lady Gaga popped onto the music scene at age 19. She began her career as a songwriter for Interscope Records and while doing some writing for Akon snd other artist. He heard her sing and signed her to to a joint deal with the label and Akon's Kon Live Distribution label.

And the rest for Lady Gaga is history. Since her early days. Gaga has released one chart topping album " The Fame". Which contained hits "Poker Face" & Just Dance". Gaga is set to release a "The Fame Monster" on November 23, 2009.

Gaga is inspired by glam rockers such as David Bowie and Queen, as well as pop singers such as Madonna and Michael Jackson. She is also inspired by fashion, which she claims is an essential component to her songwriting and performances.
