Youth Street Benefit - March 12th - DETAILS!

SILVER has been asked to play a special benefit for local Raleigh organization Youth Street.

A little about Youth Street:

Their goal is to connect with today's youth through music, performing arts and educational programs that have a positive influence on their life + decisions.

Establish a safe, substance free place where youth can spend their free time and to positively influence their lives and their decisions through the combined efforts of individuals, faith based groups, corporations and local government.

In short, Youth Street is looking to raise money to help firmly establish these goals + begin work on a new building that will give Raleigh/Cary/Apex area youth a place to go to. More on Youth Street can be found at their website: www.lifeonyouthstreet.com.

The benefit on March 12th will be a small step in helping to get that process off the ground. Here are the complete details:

What: SILVER + lots of food

Where: Visio Dei (map to Visio Dei), Raleigh, NC

When: Friday, March 12th

Time: 8 PM

Cost: 12 dollar donation - all goes directly to Youth Street

The Visulite - NEW DATE!

We have final confirmation + details on our Visulite Theatre show with the Noises 10 in Charlotte, NC. The new date will be:

Saturday April 3rd

Details are now up @ the link above. Tickets are 8 dollars in advance or 10 dollars day of the show and can be purchased by going to the Visulite Theatre's website. More on the Noises 10 can be found at this link: The Noises 10 Myspace.

New songs are circulating. We just need to play them out. We've been writing for the new record for quite awhile, but it's been a long time since we've been able to play a new song out of the box. They've sat in the rehearsal studio for months. So to say the least, we are very excited about this upcoming weekend at the Pour House + Evening Muse.

You can check the video side bar for new clips. We hope to have some new vid coming soon as well with the possibility of streaming a full rehearsal on UStream TV. We're excited about the possibilty to do some live webcasts of the new stuff to give you a feel for how the writing process is going.

So stay tuned. Exciting things are happening + we will see you Friday + Saturday.

Winters are good at that. Making people slow down and slip under the covers. We just want to be warm.

Silver has a few new songs in works. Stuff like this always takes time because unlike an artist you're not necessarily painting on a blank canvas. And you have a few other people to paint with so it makes thing more interesting. So. Things take a little longer.

All that said, Silver is really excited about what's to come in the next few months. If you haven't heard we have a couple shows coming up in 2010:

We've gotta shell out that inspiration while we have it. The last Phoenix video was phenomenal we thought. If you don't have their new record you should definitely give it a listen and probably buy it. This is older, but just as good. Especially in December. It's from The National and it's the "big single" off their last album. We hope they put out another soon. If you have time give the vid a look or at least leave the tab open as you check your Gmail and listen.

It's a great tune.

Hello all.

Quick update. First, thanks for those that came to Lincoln last Thursday. It was early, and it was great to see you all.

What's next?

Silver is looking to head into the studio in January to record a short EP. In the time leading up to it, we are doing some extensive writing and design work with a local artist to help us create a great follow up to +/-. We want to give you all something that is crafted and directly from us. The inspiration that comes from working with other artists in other mediums is invaluable and we are glad we're able to do it with this upcoming EP.

That being said, we're excited about the new music and the new merch. We want to give you something more than just the music or a download. We want you to have something tangible. And that is why we are working really hard, not just as a band, but with other artists to come up with something special and meaningful. Not just for us, but more importantly for you.

So we hope to use the website as a forum to help generate ideas. We'll post concepts and lyrics here like we did with +/- and as always, leave us your feedback in the form of a comment, email and join the Silver Mailing List, which you can do by entering your email on the sidebar.

And as always, some more shows coming your way.

We've been quiet lately + that is mostly attributed to this:

Writing new tunes can distract from other things like playing shows + updating your website, but we want to give you a taste of how our sessions are going. We'll be "vlogging" (we think that's that correct term) fairly often with recording sessions, new song clips and interviews fairly often. So no worries if you miss a post or two.
