i completed three pieces today. i am so pleased with myself.

i know it seems like a small accomplishment, but to me, right now,  it feels huge.  it feels like it has been a lifetime since i have actually spent a full day out in my shop and made anything from start to finish.  this week i did it twice.  ever since the house remodel started, i feel like everything else in my life has stopped.  it has been a very tough few months, but now there are just a few finishing touches to be completed, supposedly done tomorrow.  i feel like once that happens, i will finally be able to get my life back to normal; i am very much looking forward to it.

november is the month of gratitude.  this ring is about being grateful, about being thankful for the abundance in your life.  it  is to remind you to always feel gratitude for the wonderful things that surround you, even if, especially if, they are the things you take for granted everyday.

the stone here is fabulous.  it is ocean jasper, but it has a very tourmaline-ish feel to it.  the crystalline green and the hint of pink around the edge are just remarkable.  this necklace is, i believe, the first in a new series.  (although i always hesitate to say that because really, you never know.)  to embark is to begin, to set forth, to start out.  whatever it is that you wish to begin, now is the time.  wherever it is that you wish to go, now is the time.  whatever it is that is stopping you, now is the time to overcome it.

i also made a new resolve ring, this rectangular labradorite has a beautiful yellow-green flash.

and, although somebody is getting some sleep around here, i can tell you that it is not me.

but that is not entirely true, after a week of waking up every two hours or so to let olive out of her crate and outside, and feeling very much the way that i did when hazel and june were newborns, things changed last night.  glenn suggested (entirely on his own) that we let olive sleep in her crate next to the bed.  and last night she slept for seven hours!  woo-hoo!  i cannot tell you how very much i love her already; she is simply amazing.
