3. If you used AAA Alkaline batteries that are old, it may not turn on the flashlight.

4. If you have 1 Bad AAA Alkaline battery in the Battery Cage then the flashlight will NOT Turn On.

5.  If you’re using AAA Alkaline Batteries this could be a problem even if the batteries are New. We continually test store bought AAA Alkaline batteries on a steady and regular bases for the past four years and we have found that AAA Alkaline batteries DO NOT have a consistent run times. We have found that 30% of batteries last less than 10 minutes and have a Dim Beam. We even have had brand new batteries right out of the package that were dead.

A. There are several reasons that the UV Blacklight Flashlight might not work, First we hope you read the instructions completely first and understand the room needs to be pitch black and that the light detects ONLY DRY pet urine stains, not fresh wet urine.

Let us Explain: Fresh urine is diluted with water and ammonia and that has to evaporate so the florescence can crystallize. This takes about seventy two hours or more before the fluorescence will crystallize if there is any, so you will be able to be see the stains under the programmed wave length of light from the Ultra Violet flashlight.

Second and Most Important Fact: It Matters What You Feed Your Pet.

The more water your pet consumes then less florescence in the urine when you’re pet urinates and it dries. If you feed your pet Rich High Protein food and they Don’t drink very much water then florescence will show up Much Stronger under the UV light.

If your PET FOOD has a lot of fillers and by-products that are not real high in protein like fish and liver then it will be even more difficult to see even if your pet doesn’t have a drink of water for hours. Your animal’s diet plays an important role in having the fluorescence show under the programmed ultraviolet light flashlight.

Q. How Visible is the Pet Urine Under The UV Blacklight Flashlight

A. It is more visible on carpets, rugs, drapes and fabrics because the florescence can attach easily to the fiber of the material and crystallize, compared to tile, concrete and wood floors.

You will still be able to see some of the subtleties and/or variance on porcelain, tile and wood floors by looking carefully. You NEED to MAKE SURE the ROOM in BLACKED OUT Completely.

If the wood floors, tile and concrete have a sealer on it and they have been wiped up. This will be a challenge to see the variance under the UV light.

Tip: Also, if you have already cleaned the tile or porcelain the urine stains wont show up! You can point the UV light onto the wall and or cabinet to check for back splash and see if you have anything that shows up there!
