Simplybill is changing!

Don't worry if you're an existing user - the current Simplybill will stay the same. But soon all new users will go straight onto the new Simplybill. We've removed the features no-one used and simplified the rest. Most importantly we've made it far more reliable for Mac users and compatible with Internet Explorer 8.

Plus taken the opportunity to give it a design refresh too! We'll post more details shortly.

Simplybill has just been update with the most requested feature (by a huge margin). Now you can upload your own image header for invoices. Simply go to the settings page and upload your jpg.

Another update - this time to allow easier use of your Flickr photos. Previously you had to use your Flickr ID. To most people this was an unknown value that only appeared when logged into your account.
Now you can access your Flickr photos simply by entering your web alias. The one which appears in your unique Flick web address (easy to set up if you haven't yet got one - visit the Your Account page when next on Flickr).
For example, if your Flickr web address is:
www.flickr.com/photos/greatphotos/

Then simply enter greatphotos into the settings page on Simplybill and you'll be able to use your photos as headers for thank-you notes and reminders.

If you've previously been using your ID, you'll need to update your settings to your web alias in order to continue to pick up your chosen Flickr image.

Simplybill is now on shiny new hardware - and comes with a great new feature. You can now save your invoices as PDFs. Just click the button when viewing an invoice.

SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE: Simplybill will be unavailable for a few hours from 14:00 BST (GMT + 1) on the 1st May 2007.
This down-time will allow us to upgrade some servers and implement some core code fixes which should see website performance improve considerably.

Its been a while since we made any big updates - but a lot of behind-the-scenes work is now ready to go live. The first of these is "Quotations". Now you can create a quote for a client without it being a full invoice. However, its a simple click to convert this to a fully-fledged invoice. We think this much-needed feature will prove very popular.

Another small point some users have mentioned is the subject line of emailed invoices. This is now editable.

We have just updated Simplybill to allow invoices to display the clients VAT as well as your own. This is a requirement in some European countries.

A number of users have reported that their invoice counts haven't been reset in the last month. We have reviewed this and posted a fix for the small number of users it affected. All accounts are reseting correctly now.

This is an early "heads-up" for a new aspect to the Simplybill software which we will be launching soon. We will be offering a white-label solution which accountants and payroll companies can re-brand and offer to their clients with generous referral fees. Any interested companies should get in touch now and we'll keep you up-to-date with developments.

As well as running Simplybill - our company has just now launched Audabble (http://www.audabble.net) - a music player that incorporates news bulletins into your music and playlists. The news bulletins are created from 9 popular blogs/websites including BBC, CNN, Techcrunch, Digg amongst others. Audabble is free and works as a downloadable player and website combination. Go check it out!

For paid account subscribers, a time tracking desktop widget is now available. This tool makes it easy to log your hours for the day, against any of the tasks and projects you have set up in Simplybill. At the end of the day, these times can then be uploaded to your account with just one click. Download it from the Time Tracker page.

We've recently had a number of subscribers inform us of problems upgrading their subscriptions with PayPal - we've been working on this and its now resolved. A much requested update has just been done - open invoices can now be edited - just click on the pencil! Thanks for the great feedback, we'll be improving the site constantly and releasing new features regularly (all with out a change in our subscription fees!).

In the next couple of weeks we'll be updating the website with some more features. These include the ability to edit and clone invoices and projects. Also, we'll be integrating an online payment system to allow your clients to pay you online, saving them time, and meaning you get your money quickly and directly!

We are now fully live! Many thanks for all the feedback from the beta testers. As this is a web service we will be updating the service with new features over the coming weeks but today, simplybill 1.0 is officially open for business.

All current beta tester accounts will continue to operate as before - we'll have to regrade you at some point in the future, but we'll make sure we treat you well! Thanks.

The two previously mentioned updates are now live on the beta site. Flickr images and recurring invoices. Recurring invoices was a highly requested feature and one we really wanted to implement - let us know how you get on with it - it'll save you time and keep your finances up-to-date with automatically sent invoices!

Two more updates to come in the next couple of days. One is Flickr integration allowing you to use your Flickr images on your reminder and thank-you messages.
