Lox and Harley!

Lox and Harley were the big winners of a past Silent Auction benefitting the Southern Nevada Beagle Rescue Foundation. Their mom was so excited (and a little nervous) for a photography experience with her two sweet rescue boys! Lox is the little Chihuahua and Harley the little Malshi. Originally we were going to do their session on location, however after a few discussions we worked together to determine the best place for their photographs would be right in their own home where they are most comfortable.

Mom described them as “highly active”–yep! My friend Harley, the little Malshi, was leaping (literally) with glee-remember pogo sticks? Picture it.. Although as you can see here, you’d never know it-because we’re just cool like that! ♥ This is why I love what I do. To take little Harley and be able to adapt to the ever changing dynamics of a pet photography session, we were able to try different things to get him “grounded” of course with alot of laughing and silliness in between, but in the end mom was able to get final images that she was thrilled with! There is nothing better..:). We had good times in this session and I’d love to share a few favorites with you–enjoy their session!

I’m excited to share–SDP has been published!! As many of you know I’m now a contributing photographer for Life + Dog Magazine. I was truly excited to see some various images of mine, including client images in the current issue #9. Some proud Las Vegas pet parents this month! Magazines can be found in Las Vegas’ fine pet boutiques, Doggie District Dog Daycare, The Salon at Wynn and Barnes and Noble locations.

Another client session image was chosen to be used as part of an advertisement in Pup Culture Magazine. You may remember Herbie from a private client session last May!

Shorty Sessions are here!

But only for a limited time! It’s the LOVE month so we’ve decided to do just that…share the ♥ all month!

Shorty Sessions were designed for those that want a quick abbreviated session that will capture their pets personality and essence in the fun spirit and style of Simply Dog Photography. Perfect for those that would like to try custom photography, or maybe prefer just a handful of smaller prints and products and are flexible on the location of their session. Sessions will be held weekdays (Mon-Thurs) at a Northwest Valley location chosen by Moi!

Vintage Cars and Rockstars!

Happy New Year!! I hope everyone had a great holiday season! Just shortly after Christmas I was lucky enough to spend a few days photographing with some friends from Phoenix including Amy of Cactus Canine! I even picked up a few tips from her. It’s always fun to see how others shoot, why they do what they do or see what they see. That’s the cool thing about photography–you never stop learning new things-no matter what level you are at! We went out to a favorite new spot that I love for it’s bold color and rustic old town feel! Vintage cars, crashed airplanes, beautiful light and awesome textures. What better backdrop for dog photographs! Here’s a few favorites from our few hours out there along with a few I had taken a few weeks prior. *and that pretty little thang in the blue truck–15 years old that girl is—talk about a rockstar! ♥♥

Gizmo!

Meet Gizmo-aka Fluff! Is this little pomeranian the fluffiest little guy ever? He and his mom are perfect pals. She’s beautiful and fabulously stylish, he’s simply adorable. Mix in gorgeous Lake Las Vegas and you’ve got an amazing session! She wanted a beautiful outdoor setting with lots of variety and of course Lake Las Vegas never fails to deliver. We had so much fun working together and mom was open to just about anything!!! Little Gizmo as you can see goes along quite willingly for the ride! ♥♥!

Product Spotlight-Custom Image Boxes

I just had to share the new images boxes I’ve just added to my product lineup. I’ve been carrying the shallow boxes with the image wrapped on the front but decided to add in the larger version of the box too. For this box I designed a collage instead of the wrapped image and I love the final product! The box is 5×7 and 3 inches deep. It is fabric lined inside with an elastic enclosure and will hold up to 25 styrene mounted 5×7 images. What I love most about this size box is that they can be used for so many other purposes other than holding prints. They make an amazing memory box if that is how you choose to use it or a great addition to your coffee table to show off your session favorites. ♥♥
