The pimped new look of the Diving Center

We thought it was time to start and pimp up the diving center a little.

So we combined our idea's and effort and we are all very happy with the result When you look at the pictures or come and see it for real you will have to admit that it is a huge improvement.

What did we do?

Reception, we changed the color scheme to dark blue and orange. Including the furniture. we made a brand new counter to serve our future clients better, we created a nice corner with a round table where everyone can meet and have a chat. We have small area where you can help yourself to a coffee or tea or a cold drink.

Classroom, has been decorated in the same orange/blue color scheme and all the woodwork got a fresh layer of paint as well.

Workshop and store room, made next door to the classroom. This used to be the equipment room, but we got to much equipment so it wouldn't fit anymore. Now all the equipment is moved to the room in the back where the compressor used to be.

The equipment room, is now in the back. Nice, clean out of the way and with enough space to store all our equipment.

The compressor room has been moved to Rowaset where we now have a filling station with 4 compressors and lots of space to store our tanks.

We hope we will see you soon to show you our pimped diving center!
Yesterday on a trip to Ras Mohamed with our travel agent Detur, we made a stop in Marsa Bereika to to some introductory dives.
When we arrived at the mooring we saw a dolphin on the surface. And some of the divers were lucky enough to see the dolphin also on the dive.
All who did of course had a nice big smile on their face when they surfaced.
We also thank Belal our videographer for the nice shots that he managed to make!

Shore dives are ideal if you do not want to spent the whole day on the boat or if you only have a morning or an afternoon to go diving.
Shore dives also offer a wider variety of dive-sites. Some of the places we use for shore diving are not done by boat.
Sinai Scuba offers shore dives every day of the week to different places.

The biggest and most important city of the Red Sea, Sharm el Sheikh, lies at the southern flank of the Peninsula, where the two gulfs of Aqaba and Suez meet with the Red Sea.
If you travel to Sharm el Sheikh or you want to visit the Sinai Peninsula, make sure to take your dive certification with you if you are a qualified diver and expect your Scuba Diving travel to be an adventure rather than a holiday or learn scuba diving in this warm water with easy access to the sea by boat or shore .

If you are in Sharm El Sheikh you can make shore dives. A shore dive is ideal for the diver with limited time who may not wish to spend a whole day out on the boat. One or two dives can be enjoyed in a morning or an afternoon.

There are some great dive sites accessible by land in Sharm el Sheikh

The Sinai Scuba Diving Center organizes half day or full day diving trips to the Ras Mohamed national park by car. The National Park Ras Mohamed lies where the Gulf of Suez meets the Gulf of Aqaba at Sinai's southern extremity.

Declared in 1983 with an area of 97 km², it has since grown to an area of 480 km² and includes marine and terrestrial areas at the Ras Mohamed Peninsula and the island of Tiran, and all shorelines between the main Sharm el Sheikh Harbor and the southern boundary of the Nabq protected area. The park is notable of its sharply defined raised fossil coral platforms 15.000 till 2 million years old. The more resent fossil reefs show similar species and structures as present today.
The arid desert terrain of sand dunes, gravel plains, fossilized corals and granite mountains is home to a number of rare mammal species: Dorcas gazelle, Nubian ibex and red fox. Easier to spot are the resident birds like terns, herons, gulls and ospreys. Thousands of white storks pass through Ras Mohammed each year, heading south during September/October and back north during April/May. The park has about 85 species of flora, including mangroves.

Located 25 km north of Sharm El Sheikh, Nabq is a region of contrasts. From the high mountains in the North, to rolling dune systems of the South, to the rich coral environment where the desert meets the sea, Nabq provides varied and in some cases unique landscapes and habitats. The park covers a massive area of 600 km². The marine life of Nabq is particularly rich, from the reefs which stretch the entire length of the coast with their diverse coral communities and large fish populations, to the well developed sea grass beds, in particular, in front of the visitor center and the shrimp farm. The coral reefs are probably some of the best on offer in the Red Sea, with an abundance of smaller marine life. The coastline of Nabq, as well as exhibiting a well developed coral reef system, is fringed by 4.8 km of mangrove forest. This mangrove which is composed of just one species of tree, Avicennia marina, is very fragile. In addition, being the most northerly in the Red Sea / Indian Ocean system, it is worthy of protection. Mangrove forests play an important role in shoreline protection and are vital as fish breeding and nursery areas. They also support a large resident bird population, as well as providing a rest stop for migratory birds.

Dahab is a Bedouin settlement approximately one hour drive north along the coast from Sharm el Sheikh. The palm-fringed town is famous for its laid-back atmosphere. It also offers dive sites which are completely different from those in the Sharm el Sheikh area.

A day-trip from Sharm offers an easy way to dive at Dahab's most famous sites, the Canyon and the Blue Hole. Both are shore dives with a very unusual topography. It is also possible on the way back to visit a Bedouin settlement, where you can get an idea about their way of life and share a nice cup of tea with them.

The Sinai Scuba Diving center offers night dives from the shore any day of the week when we have a minimum of 4 participants.

In the night all the crawling creatures come out from their hiding places inside the reef, such as sea stars, feather stars, sea cucumbers, nudibranches, shells and shrimps. You may be followed by Lion fish, see moray eels feeding, find an octopus or a cuttlefish and see all the small shrimps that come out in the night. If you are one of the lucky ones you may even spot a Spanish dancer.
To enroll in an Emergency First Response course, you must care about other people and want to be able to assist them in a medical emergency. The course is a prerequisite for enrolling in a Rescue Diver Course.
Emergency First Response is a PADI affiliate that specializes in teaching lifesaving skills for anyone, not just divers. Most PADI Instructors are also Emergency First Response Instructors.

The Bedouins are the original inhabitants of the Sinai Peninsula and their lifestyle differs from the Egyptian lifestyle. They have lived in the desert in “beet shar” (house of hair, i.e. tent) for centuries and part of them still do. To get an idea about this Culture and their traditions is an absolute must.

Would you like to enjoy the thrill of diving even if you do not have any experience?

If you are 10 years or older and you are fit for diving, you can safely do it. It is called an Introductory Dive and it gives people the chance to dive without taking a course.

How will this be done?
First, we will explain to you the basic knowledge that is needed to dive safely under instructor supervision and your instructor will give you a briefing about the dive. Your professional Sinai Scuba diving instructor will be with you at all times under water and he/ she will show you the amazing reef and marine life in the Red Sea. If would you like to, you can make another dive with the instructor on the same trip!

Before or after a day of diving or snorkeling, a nice way to change the scenery is to take a quad bike trip into the Sinai desert.

For two hours you will ride through the sandy desert on your own quad bike, pass through the mountains stopping at a Bedouin village to drink tea, listening to your own echo in the echo temple and (depending on the time of the day) watch the sun set or rise over the magnificent Sinai Mountains.

The Sinai Scuba Diving Center organizes day trips to the Ras Mohamed national park by car.

The National Park at Ras Mohamed lies where the Gulf of Suez meets the Gulf of Aqaba at Sinai's southern extremity. The more recent fossil reefs show similar species and structures as present today.
