This is an average ale at best. The best way to describe it is perhaps that I have nothing negative to say about it...but nothing too positive either. It's easy to drink and mild flavored, but has no distinguishing qualities. I wouldn't recommend it unless your other option was Bud Light.

Compass-wordpress combines Compass and Thematic in a way that makes it look like creating WordPress themes will be a blast. I haven't tried it yet, but I'm excited to and will report back after I do.

This has been out for a few months now, but I only just stumbled on it tonight. Check out the introductory blog post by @pengwynn (of The Change Log fame), or browse the source code.

If you develop on a linux machine and use Dropbox to hold a Rails directory, you very likely will run in to permissions errors on one of your machines. I recently got an error like this after trying to startup my rails app on a second Linux machine:

At first I thought it was a simple file ownership error, but running

chmod -r jeff:jeff *.*

didn't fully fix it. Turns out the script/rails file didn't have exec permissions. Easily fixed:

chmod +x script/rails

And all was well.

This is perhaps the best beer I have ever had. Weighing in at a heavy 9.8%, it has a thick, rich, robust flavor that will leave you feeling wowed. And probably pretty happy. Definitely recommend: 5/5

When I'm writing code, I often need to look up past solutions to things I have already solved.

When at the liquor store, I often can't recall if I liked a specific kind of drink or not.

So here's my new blog, the Drink & Code Blog, where I'll share code snippets and things that I've learned, as well as drinks that I try, good and bad. I hope that it will help me remember both, and maybe it will be useful to a few of you out there. Enjoy!
