With the lead on social 'messaging', Facebook's next move is to own the social photos and video sharing space.

And if you wondered what happened to Facebook's acquisition of Instagram? Well it seems that we might have an answer today. Introducing: Facebook Camera.

The Facebook Camera app is, well, the same as Instagram only with minor changes such as being able to upload multiple photos at once and being able to tag your friends. The core functionality of Facebook Camera app takes complete cue from Instagram such as applying filters to your photos instantly and sharing with your followers. In this case, however, your Facebook friends are your followers automatically.

The UI of the app is in no way as clean, smooth and as soft to use as Instagram and looks more like the new Google+ app for iPhone. It's good at what it does, that is, photos, but apart from that it doesn't have much to offer.

There is obviously the possibility that the Facebook Camera app is a standalone app of its own and has no relation to Instagram whatsoever but given the recent acquisition, we still have our doubts.

Leap Motion is one such product that follows on the lines of Kinect for Xbox 360 and Windows to offer a gesture-based computing solution for the Mac. It is an iPod sized small aluminium and plastic device that looks like something that just came out of an Apple factory. Unbox it, plug it to your Mac via USB and simply launch the Leap Motion software to take charge of your computer with hand gestures.

They say, "the Leap can distinguish your individual fingers and track your movements down to a 1/100th of a millimeter and the technology is 200 times more accurate than anything else on the market". Imagine controlling games, scrolling through books and web-pages, playing music/video, entertainment, movies, creating engineering models etc literally with your hands. The Leap offers so many more applications for use in daily life.

Let's not label it as a Kinect killer yet. The Leap Motion box is scheduled for shipment in winter this year and you can pre-order a box right away on their website. The Leap Motion team is in search for passionate, talented developers who can make gesture-specific apps for the Leap Motion box using the developer kit.

The ad looks all the more hilarious because most of it is true. You know what they say, beauty is as good as the latest version of Photoshop.

A couple of months ago AdSense updated its interface and as it seems, one of the very key metrics in reporting, the eCPM, has been removed. Many publishers seem confused as eCPM is missing from the reports but the good thing is that we now have an alternative to it, called the RPM. In an official blog post, the AdSense team clarified that there is indeed no difference between eCPM and RPM as both the terms are referring to the same thing.

Recently, we’ve heard some questions about the difference between eCPM (effective cost per thousand impressions) and RPM (revenue per thousand impressions), as the older AdSense interface references eCPM and the newer version shows RPM. We’d like to clarify and let you know that the terms are referring to the same thing: both eCPM and RPM represent your estimated earnings for every 1000 impressions. To calculate this figure, divide your estimated earnings by the number of page views, impressions or queries that you received, then multiply by 1000. For example, if you earned an estimated $0.20 from 50 page views, then your page eCPM or RPM would equal ($0.20 / 50) * 1000 or $4.00.

Formula:
eCPM or RPM = (Estimated earnings / Number of page views) * 1000

This clears everything. RPM is just a new name for eCPM and nothing much has changed. eCPM/RPM still remains the key metric for publishers to identify the performance of their ads in a specific niche.

As we have reported before, Multitasking in iOS works in a manner that is very unique and different as compared to how it operates in Android. In Android, the app is kept in the memory even in the background and is allowed to consume data and services just like any other app. In iOS, however, only services such as audio, VoIP and location are allowed to operate in the background while the app is pushed into a frozen state.

The addition of a multitasking bar in iOS4 also led to a confusion that apps need to be closed manually to save memory and battery time. However, Fraser Speirs, an iOS developer has a very different and interesting story to tell.

You may think that, if an app is resident in memory, you have to somehow remove it to conserve memory. You don't because iOS does it for you. If there are Suspended apps lying around and you launch a memory-intensive app such as a big game, iOS will start to purge Suspended apps and move them to the Not Running state. That is, they will be completely removed from memory and will launch afresh the next time you tap their icon.

Where some people get confused is this: all of the above has no impact on what you see in the multitasking bar. The multitasking bar always shows a list of recently used apps, regardless of whether they're in the Background, Suspended or Not Running states. You may also have noticed that the app that is currently Active does not appear in the multitasking bar.

As of December 16, 2011 she has been officially declared the World's smallest woman by Guinness Book of Records with a height of 62.8 cm. Her restricted height is due to a growth anomaly called achondroplasia.

Not only does she have her own small desk and chair at school but she also has to sleep in a specially-made bed and uses utensils that are smaller than average. Jyoti is set to appear in two Bollywood films next year.

According to DigiTimes, Apple will start preparing materials for iTV sets in the first quarter of 2012 in order to meet Apple's schedule to launch the new display products in the second or the third quarter of 2012.

Instead of a form of set-top box (STB) like the Apple TV launched in 2006, Apple's new products will be full TV sets, the sources added. The displays of the new iTV sets will focus on 32- and 37-inch sizes initially, noted sources in the supply chain.

This will be interesting. If Apple does manage to revolutionize the TV industry like it has changed other industries, it will open a whole new door of possibilities for developers and content creators. Although, many people have been asking me how to uninstall or disable the new Facebook Timeline from profile since they find it hard to adapt to something too new so soon. Here are the steps:

1. Open the link https://developers.facebook.com/apps
2. In the Recently Viewed list in the left sidebar, select the app you created to enable Facebook Timeline
3. Click on Edit App on the top right.
4. In the page that open, click and confirm Delete App in the Related Links list in left sidebar.

Open your profile and it will be back to normal

I must mention however that Facebook Timeline will be enable by default for every user from September 30 onwards so good luck whining about the new Facebook changes. I think, it's awesome!

Interestingly, Timeline is not yet live for everyone but an early preview is available for developers. Since I know a thing or two about code, I am going to help you try Timeline on your Facebook account even if you are not a developer. Simply, follow the steps:

1. Open this link https://developers.facebook.com/apps and click on +Create New App
2. Add the App display name and namespace, this can be any piece of text.
3. On the next page, you will see the App ID and Secret and other details.
4. Click on Open Graph on the left sidebar of this page.
5. Simply define what your dummy app is capable of, like 'People can read a book' and click Get Started.
6. In the next page, Action Types, scroll down and simply click Save Changes and Next
7. Next, Time Aggregrations, scroll down and click Save and Finish.

Voila, you just created a dummy Facebook app with Open Graph. Now visit your profile page and Facebook will give you the option to switch to Timeline view don't forget to thank us.

According to the officials, the first launch window of GRAIL would take place on 8^th September at 8:37 AM EST and the second launch occurrence 39 minutes later at 9:16 AM EST.

The GRAIL mission aims to achieve a series of goals in it voyage of almost nine months around the moon. The mission would consist of two spacecrafts GRAIL-A and GRAIL-B. Wonder why does all this remind of the movie, Armageddon. Coming back to the details, the spacecrafts would be launched with the help of the specially designed, Delta II Rockets. Both the spaceships would would record sensitive data including measurements as they move along a defined path.

The basic reason for this mission is to record the strength of the gravity field around Earth as well as taking recordings between them using radio signals. The measurements would be beamed down to the lab to compare the Moon's gravitational field according to Einstein's General Theory of Relativity. After gathering these records, scientists would be able to claim them as the most accurate measurements to date.

Moreover, the GRAIL mission would also figure out the composition of the lunar crust. This study would help scientists construct a proper theory as to "how the moon came to be a debatable subject". The findings would also help in determining on how the inner planets were formed during the formation of the Solar System.

After climbing thousands of miles across the earth's surface, Expedition 28 International Space Station Crew took various snaps on August 21, of an on-going brightly lit orange line jutting across the earth. Be not alarmed, as the picture does not display anything supernatural. The spectacular camera shot below displays the planet's, only visible, land borders.

The orange line passing in an orderly fashion indicates the border between India and Pakistan. In addition, you would also be able to witness various lightened places which point towards one of the busiest cities.

Back in 2003, the Indian government made a move to erect floodlights along the terrain separating both the countries. The move was sanctioned by the state to prevent smuggling and arms trafficking. Both the borders have regularly witnessed attempts at infiltration by terrorists as well as other banned activities.

From a total of 1800-mile (2900 km) long India-Pakistan border, the Indian government hopes to cover 1248 miles (2900 km) with floodlights. So far, 1156 miles (1861 km) of the border has been erected with floodlights which includes 286 miles (460 km) bordering the Pakistan state of Punjab, 635 miles (1022 km) across Rajastan, 109 miles (176 km) across the Jammu border and 125 miles (202 km) through Gujarat.

In addition, the Indian government has high hopes on completing the floodlight operation by March 2012.

On his resign, Steve Jobs sent the following letter to the Apple Board of Directors.

I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple’s CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come.

I hereby resign as CEO of Apple. I would like to serve, if the Board sees fit, as Chairman of the Board, director and Apple employee.

As far as my successor goes, I strongly recommend that we execute our succession plan and name Tim Cook as CEO of Apple.

I believe Apple’s brightest and most innovative days are ahead of it. And I look forward to watching and contributing to its success in a new role.

This new chat sidebar is Facebook's attempt to make its chat smarter. We don't know about that, but it sure is inconvenient. First, you are displayed an assortment of your Friends with whom you are most likely to chat with and there's no way to tell who is online or offline. Considering the scenario in which you want to avoid someone in your Friends list but also really need to send someone a message through Facebook chat. You'll have to check Available for Chat in order to see who's online, and in that leap of faith you'll get caught by the very same person you were trying to avoid, because now you're available to chat and they are online at the same time.

Also, this new chat sidebar takes up considerable space and you'll be frustrated if you are using a small monitor. The old Facebook chat sidebar was amazing, it allowed you to see who was online and it didn't randomly show a dozen people. We just don't get the fact why Facebook tries to fix something that isn't broken in the first place. Anyhow, that aside the purpose of this post is to teach you to fix new Facebook chat in order to get the old Facebook chat sidebar that and the procedure to do that is documented down below.

Note: You must be using Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox or Opera on your Windows or Mac computer.

Basically, we are going to use add-ons / extensions to fix new Facebook chat. If you are using Google Chrome, an extension aptly named Facebook Chat Sidebar Disabler will fix new Facebook chat and will bring back the old Facebook chat sidebar we all know and love. The extension can be downloaded from here. After installation, simply refresh the Facebook page or restart Chrome to get old Facebook chat sidebar back.

For Mozilla Firefox, another aptly named add-on called FB Chat Sidebar Disabler does the trick. Simply install it on your Windows or Mac running Mozilla Firefox and you are good to go. This add-on can be downloaded from here.

For Opera, Facebook Chat Sidebar Disabler works perfectly. Download this extension from here on Opera, restart it and enjoy the old Facebook chat sidebar.
