Those who have been following the whole Windows Phone 7 Series scene at MIX10 would know that Microsoft released new developer tools for Windows Phone 7 Series at the conference.

The ROM that came with the developer tools only allowed the developers to access very limited features on the emulator such as the web browser and the settings. However, thanks to a hack discovered by Dan Ardelean, developers would now be able to unlock the ROM and experience it to it's fullest.

Follow the steps:

Step 1: Download and install the developer tools for Windows Phone 7 Series.

Step 2: Then download and install Windows SDK for Windows 7 and .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 (link)

Step 3: Download the hacked .BIN file for Windows Phone OS 7.0 Build 7.0.0.6077 emulator image from XDA-Developers here.

Step 4: Rename the file to WM70C1.bin and move it to C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\WindowsPhone\v7.0\Emulation\Images

And that's pretty much it. Enjoy the full experience of the Windows Phone 7 Series Emulator.

Google, the intelligent search giant will be touching the airwaves of TV screens. The tech giant wants to change the way people use their television sets while it brings the technology to your living room. Teaming up with the best, the search giant has partnered with Intel, Sony and Logitech to launch the first ever Android OS TV. Google has some big plans as the company sees a tremendous change in the future of TV viewing. Google wants the Television to be linked with the Internet which would help viewers watch as well as download videos for endless viewing. For now, the company plans to implement its latest technology in Television and later introduce it to the Blue-ray players and set-top devices.

From the internet to mobile phone and now the Television, the internet search giant brings the vision of Android OS to TV. Adding additional revenue is the main target of every company while also judging the success of the product. The same is the case with Google, even though some experts think Google is moving too fast and should slow down while introducing new products others say this is the best way to capture the market.

Google Official told:

Google, Sony, Logitech and Intel are working together to implement the Android OS to Television.

Logitech will be making a contribution of developing the first Android OS Google TV remote control sets and small keyboard for the device. Google TV is what the official report told the product would be named on the launch. Surf the web through your television, is the slogan which would advertise itself.

No official comment was seen from any of the partners who have announced the joint collaboration of Android OS TV. Viewers will be exposed to the world of internet and can access Picasa Photo Album, YouTube video sharing site and even Twitter.

While no official date was announced for the product to go online, a close source revealed that the product has been under development for months and would be available this summer. It is even heard that Google has started testing the set-top box technology through Dish Network.

There was even leaked documentation as well supporting the news about the update. Many people will be disappointed to hear the news that Android 2.1 update for Motorola Droid has been postponed till further notice.

Rumors has it that a last minute bug was found in the update which was planned to be released on 18th March, and because of that, company has to delay the Android 2.1 update for Motorola Droid.

According to BoyGeniusReports:,

We’re told a last minute bug late last night was found. There is no new ETA. We’ve reached out to Verizon for confirmation.

The trend of porting a mobile OS to a tablet isn't a new one at all. After all, mobile OS are much finger-friendly than the full featured OS that we mainly use on our laptops and desktops.

Here, designer Umang Dokey has taken inspiration from the same approach and made a concept tablet that runs on Windows Phone 7 OS. The Tablet has a 8-inch capacitive touch screen, 2 web cams for 3D video calling, an in-built stand and a keyboard.

Interestingly! other companies like Apple and Google have already begun to make tablet-devices out of their mobile OS, so something like the Windows Phone 7 OS Tablet shouldn't be far from reality.

And if that's really the case, I wonder what Microsoft will do about the HP Slate that is supposed to launch later this year? Not to mention the Microsoft Courier too?

Earlier today, Sony released a PlayStation Move (the motion-sensing controller for PS3) promo featuring PlayStation's fictional VP Kevin Butler that comes from the future to show us how Move has changed the landscape of gaming.

While he does demo some of the possibilities of Move, like real-time boxing and first-person shooter games, another interesting feature of the promo is how he mocks at the Project Natal by Microsoft.

Natal, as we all know it, is the controller-free gaming and entertainment experience demoed by Microsoft at E3 last year. Natal will be coming to the market as an add-on for XBOX 360 later this year and only time will tell how the competition between Natal and PlayStation Move stacks up.

Every one knows Apple iPad madness is flying high and wide. It has even gone past the China wall. China Mobile has expressed interest in selling iPad, the about to be released Apple Tablet. Besides the iPad, the mobile phone carriers are looking to strike a deal with the Cupertinos to sell the high profile iPhone.

China Mobile uptil now has been unable to reach a deal that will enable them to sell the sensational mobile phone from Apple. Wang Jianzhou, who happens to be the China Mobile's chairman and chief executive didn't disclose the reasons which were causing the undesirable delay. However the CEO remained hopeful of striking a deal real soon, as one would expect.

We're hoping we'll come to an agreement (with Apple) on the iPhone as soon as possible

As stated earlier, iPhone isn't the only product that has attracted the telecommunication company, the iPad has got them excited as well.

We will continue to express our interest in the iPhone. But not just the iPhone, also the iPad.

China Mobile sees the deal signing of these two product as an opportunity to enhance and expand its business. It remains to be seen when will the deal be finally signed.

Jay Marine, Amazon Kindle Director said,

Kindle for Mac is the perfect companion application for customers who own a Kindle or Kindle DX. For those customers around the world who don’t yet have a Kindle, Kindle for Mac is a great way to instantly access and read the most popular new releases as well as their old favorites.

Some features of Amazon Kindle are:

Get the best reading experience available on your Mac. No Kindle required

Access your Kindle books even if you don't have your Kindle with you

Automatically synchronizes your last page read and annotations between devices with Whispersync

Create bookmarks and view the annotations you created on your Kindle

Looks like Amazon Kindle is ready to give its rival, iPad, some tough competition. The only thing we have to do is wait and watch which one of these wins.

Google seems to be speeding in the war for products related to software, OS, apps and much more. Just recently announced, the Internet search giant has rolled in a great service for small business users. Users can now switch from Microsoft Exchange to Google Apps quietly which seems to be a big challenge for Microsoft Office to stay in the market for long. Google launched its latest server-side tool called the Google Apps Migration for Microsoft Exchange, which helps you migrates easily as the app name defines.

According to Google, the migration takes minutes to take place which is just four steps long. The app also has the ability to import data in phases which makes it easier to bring in data if data is long enough. Information which you select and deem to be imported can also be done as you are provided the option to make a choice. The tool works with Microsoft Exchange 2003 or 2007 and is offered free to those who have already subscribed to Google Apps Premier and Education Edition.

Just a few weeks after the acquisition of DocVerse, an company which allows Microsoft Office users to edit their documents on the web, Google has confirmed services and users will be able to edit documents online. Small businesses will surely look for Google products rather Microsoft as the company leaves no area for Microsoft to re-capture the market in near future. Almost two million companies worldwide are now using Google Apps which guarantees that Google Apps is ready for small businesses.

The Google Apps Marketplace is managed by the partners who are building unmatched cloud-based application. More than 50 companies have already signed up and are ready to contribute their services for Google. The company says that it wants to rely on the partner for building business application, an area where it lacks expertise. Only 20% share would come to Google while the remaining would belong to the partners which is quiet an incentive.

With the latest tool from Google, customers are surely going to make a switch from Microsoft.

One of the biggest and most popular social media network, Facebook, has been made the target again. Intelligent anti-virus company McAfee has reported that the social networking site has been hit by a virus which aims to steal passwords as well as other sensitive information from the user's account. Some 400 million users are currently registered with Facebook and have been declared highly vulnerable.

The comes acts in a different way and comes via an email which declares that the specific user's password has been reset due to technical reasons. All Facebook accounts are going through the same and due to which the user needs to reset the password. Further on the user is asked to click and download the attachment which contains the new password and login details. Upon downloading and opening of the document the attachment unleashes a group of Trojans, which also include the password stealing software.

The anti-virus company McAfee reported:

This threat is potentially very dangerous considering that there are over 350 million Facebook users who could fall for this scam.

This is not the first attack on the social media, Hackers have targeted the site before sending them messages via the company's own internal system. But this being a little different, the attack is being used with a regular Internet email address. McAfee has estimated that the hackers have sent tens of thousands of emails worldwide which has already targeted a lot in the United States and Europe.

A helpful note for the Facebook users. The email is titled "Facebook Password Reset Confirmation! Customer Support", please beware and upon receiving the email delete it immediately.

The good news for all the would-be iPad owners out there is that they will (hopefully?) be able to Jailbreak the device as soon as they unbox it and scrap off the transparent wrapping, thanks to GreenPois0n.

GreenPois0n, which is said to Jailbreak the iPad OS, is a tool being developed by Joshua Hill also known as Posixninja. Now we already know that the 'iPad Jailbreak' is a very controversial topic but reason why it is being believed that GreenPois0n Jailbreak for iPad is real (and not another Fake) is because Posixninja happens to be a member of the Chronic Dev Team which have been working for long on a tether-free tool to Jailbreak the iPhone on new firmware.

On the other hand, there seems to be some ambiguity as the iPhone Dev Team hasn't made a public announcement on whether they are working on the iPad Jailbreak or not, and also have not even commented on the status of Posixninja's work. But as the iPad OS is almost same to that of iPhone, there is a chance that the tool being developed by Posixninja is actually authentic.

Since the announcement, the tech market is full of news of Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 OS. Experts term the OS as a success while some on the other hand say that the software giant is heading for a disaster. Phone maker HTC and carrier T-Mobile were of no answer when asked if they would be implementing the new OS in the HD2 smartphone, soon to be launched in the market.

A few days back, both the companies announced the eagerly awaited launch of its smartphone HD2 in the U.S market. While unveiling their latest gadget, they were of the view that for now Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 OS would not be implemented. Earlier, on its first launch, the phone was released in the Europe market which employed Windows 6.5 Phone OS. Due to some issues in the OS, Microsoft immediately announced that the company has plans to bring in a new OS known as the Windows Phone 7 OS but keeping in mind OS 6.5 can not be upgraded.

We can surely wait for the new OS to arrive but HTC and TMobile could not wait and released their product in the market without the new OS.

Jon Eliav T- Mobile's Spokesperson told:

We don't know when the first Windows 7 Phone OS device is coming out. The company has not confirmed on anything whether it will be utilizing the services of the new operating system in its HD2 smartphone.

Windows Phone 7 OS Overview: The latest Operating System being launched by the software giant is an out of the box version for Windows Mobile. The OS guarantees a state-of-the-art solution to smartphone needs. The interface of the OS is pretty friendly with the background being in black whereas text is mentioned in white. The OS has the ability to handle all tasks such as communicating with people.

All Windows Phone 7 OS users need to have 800 x 480 touch screens including four-point multi touch. The phone needs to have Snapdragon quality CPUs with DirectX 9 compatible GPUs. A built in storage of 8GB is a must to implement the OS. A 5 Megapixel camera is the minimum requirement which the phone should have.

All apps for the Windows OS need to be downloaded from the Windows Mobile Marketplace. All capabilities of the Zune HD are available on board including the Zune Marketplace. App partners include EA and Glu Mobile for games, the AP for news, Netflix and Pandora, Seesmic and Foursquare for social media.

The OS brings in Microsoft Exchange and Sharepoint and also includes Microsoft Office for business area people.

Android OS is gaining popularity day by day. More and more people are switching to Android based handsets compared with other mobile operating systems. Although there are not enough applications available for Android based smartphones but there is a massive increase of about 14k applications in Android Apps Market, increasing from 16k in January 2010 to almost 30k in March.

Androlib, a third party developer, claimed that there are almost 35k applications right now in Android Apps Market. Google has confirmed the apps count in the Android Market to be almost 30k applications, says a report.

The biggest Android competitor is iPhone at the moment and if we compare the number of applications available for iPhone with the Google Android Market, the ratio of applications available is 5:1. There are almost 140k applications in the iTunes Apps store compared to 30k android apps. But the number of free applications available for android are much more than those available for the iPhone OS. Androlib reports that almost 61% of the applications available in the Android Market are free while the remaining are the paid ones..

Even another good thing about the Android market is that if you buy an application and don’t like it, you have 24 hours from the time of purchase to return the application and get a full refund. This service is not offered in iTunes Apps Store. No wonder why the Android Market is growing at this rate and it is expected to grow much more than that in next few months.

Looks like Google Nexus One is not as popular as everyone expected. According to a mobile analytics company, Flurry, Google managed to sell only 135,000 Nexus One handset units in 74 days.

Looking at the estimated sales of iPhone and Droid, they managed to sell 1 and 1.05 million handsets respectively. On the other hand, the much hyped Android-based, Nexus One sold only 135k units which is not a good sign for Google. However, people had much expectations from Nexus One and believed that it can be the next iPhone competitor but looks like its not.

Unlike Droid and iPhone, Google Nexus One can only be purchased online and is not available in retail stores. If you want to buy Nexus One, you have to get it through T-Mobile.

Flurry reports:

It used the first 74 days of sales as a benchmark, since that was the timeframe that Apple initially announced it took to sell the first million iPhones in 2007. Since March 19 will mark the first 74 days of Nexus One sales, Flurry said it forecasted results for the last few days of the period.

Other reports suggest that market share of Android based smartphones is increasing and have gone up by 4.3% in just 4 months. It was 2.8 percent in October 2009 and it grew to 7.1% by January 2010. But if thats the case, why are the sales of Google Nexus One dropping? In the demo for IE9, it was also shown how the hardware-accelerated graphics capability of the browser allow it to render the same HTML, script, and CSS markup much faster as compared to other browser. Also, IE9 happens to be the first browser to provide hardware-accelerated SVG support.

The platform preview build can be downloaded at the IE9 Test Drive website. Please note that the platform preview is not a full web browser and should not be used for a daily user. Rather it should only be used by developers for preliminary testing purposes. A beta for IE9 will be available soon.

Evan Williams, CEO Twitter unveiled the plans on introducing its latest service known as @anywhere. @anywhere, a service designed for twitter users which will allow them to connect to their Twitter accounts from almost anywhere using third party websites. With the induction of this service, users can easily share information while reading news on online like The New York Times or even shopping on their best auction site like eBay. The service can be more related to Facebook Connect which also allows its users to sign using Facebook accounts on other sites.

@anywhere platform brings access to Twitter users to interact with Twitter from almost anywhere, as the name mentions, and they are able to interact, follow about their favorite stuff while being on the third party's website. "What an amazing piece of painting I found on eBay", tweeted the presenter as he showed the features of the service. The new service was unveiled at a conference in Austin, Texas.

Any site which has the feature of @anywhere, brands, people, and other stuff having Twitter accounts will appear as a hyperlink. Placing your mouse pointer over the hyperlink will reveal the info as well as the most recent tweet which the particular account has made. Clicking on the hyperlink will take you to the profile of the specified user.

An official note about the service read as:

Website owners and operators will be able to offer visitors more value with less heavy lifting.

Experts eye that the service is almost the same as Facebook's Facebook Connect but much popular as millions of articles, products, news are shared on their Profile. Twitter would be needing to work much harder than expected as Facebook has already caught the eye of everyone and users depend on it really well.

The conference did shower us with a presentation but no word was available as to when the service would be officially launched but a little info was provided as to which sites would be the first ones to connect.

The web is abuzz with news, photos and demos about the Windows Phone 7 Series as Microsoft recently unveiled developer tools for its upcoming mobile OS at MIX10.

At MIX10, the main focus of Microsoft was to demo apps for the Windows Phone 7 Series platform and give developers an insight into what amazing things could be done by only using the tools available for the platform. Foursquare, Shazam, Seesmic were only some of the apps demoed, built on the Silverlight technology.

Apart from that, Microsoft also gave a demo of the Associated Press app, along with 3D-Games and the Apps Marketplace on the Windows Phone 7 Series. Check out the videos below.

It looks like Microsoft has developed a rock-solid platform that is easy for developers to build their apps on, and provides a new user-experience to the consumers. Though it's hard to tell how this platform will compete against other mobile OS such as iPhone and Android but one thing we are certain about is that the Windows Phone 7 Series platform will help Microsoft win back it's place in the mobile market soon enough.

Microsoft’s much awaited event MIX10, started with Microsoft officials emphasising on how Silverlight and Expression Blend will complement the XNA Game Studio 4.0 toolset. Microsoft launched many tools for developers which they can use to build applications for Windows Phone 7 operating system.

The developer tools include Windows Phone Emulator which can be used by developers to test different applications for Windows Phone 7. Other tools include Visual Studio 2010 Express for Windows Phone 7, Expression Blend for Windows Phone and a Windows Phone 7 add-in for Visual Studio 2010. The tool can be downloaded from Microsoft official Windows Phone 7 website.

At MIX10, Microsoft also introduced release candidate version of Silverlight 4. The final version will be available for users by the end of April 2010. However, Windows Phone 7 will not support Silverlight 4 but it will be compatible with the current Silverlight 3 with some Windows Phone specific features.

The hint was obvious that Microsoft had some ideas up their sleeves to be presented at MIX10. But the question remains whether Microsoft have any other important announcements to make during MIX10 or will it all be only about Windows Phone 7 Series?
