If there is one thing I know about business cards it's that there are here to stay and for long. Even though social media and apps like Bump have taken over our smartphones, there is just that amazing feeling of pulling a card out of your pocket to make your first impression in making a contact (whether professional or personal).

Below is a list of creative business card designs that you can draw inspiration from. The color and form-factor are just some of the factors that go into making a business card which 'speaks' for itself. The best business cards excel in function over form and design.

Samsung has proven its mettle in the smartphone arena and that’s the reason why its sets are so much in demand. It has already set very high standards for its competitors. Its latest avatar Samsung Mega from the flagship galaxy series is ready to take on the market contemporaries and today we bring an exclusive review of this brilliant innovation by Samsung.

Initially which was rumoured to be just a single handset, surfaced two different variants at inception. The Galaxy Mega 6.3 and Mega 5.8. As their names suggest the only visible difference between them is the screen size.

Both the devices flaunt the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with dual core processors. The latest version of the Android has been coupled with Touch wiz‘s bright and a vibrantly peppy User Interface. There seems to be some nifty changes or additions to the interfaces of the sets, due to which it claims to provide a grand and wonderful experience for the end users. Its home screen looks really clean and tidy. The cosmetic changes have remained the same as there have been no changes adopted in these prospects. Mega 6.3 also enables tabbed browsing which lets you scroll through the screen without much problems or ado. Innovation and sophistication is the natural forte of this handset.

Samsung has taken innovative measures for the next step in the logical manner and have enhanced them with technicality and functionality. The handset seamlessly lets you handle the functions with the help of two fingers in various drag and drop options. Alongside it features multiple window options which were first visible in the Galaxy Note 2.

Mega 6.3 features the S Translator, snappy camera applications and health applications from S4 etc. It’s going to come with the connectivity of LTE. But in case your region doesn’t provide you with 4G infrastructure then it will be supporting the connectivity of HSPA. The phone does supports Cat 3 LTE and also to theoretical records; you will enjoy high speed download speeds of around 100 MBPs, and 50 Mbps for uploading.

It has a giant display option available. 6.3 inch display is one of the largest screens which have been visible on the mainstream Smartphone. Its display has the resolution of around 720p which sports pixel of around 233 ppi.

The phone supports a micro SD card slot through which you can expand the storage capacity to around 64GB. Users can pick the option of either the 8 GB or 16 GB, toting Galaxy Mega included in it. Due to its expandable memory it will be allowing the user to download FULL HD movies on the hand set supported by a vibrant screen. This enhances the phone’s entertainment quotient to a great extent.

It packs a punch with the 3200 mAh battery, which was earlier considered a “prototype” only. But currently going to face reality. The back portion of the set is easily removable. You will be able to remove the battery without much fuss. The galaxy is going to please those users who were really waiting for a note-like device but without the additional luggage of S-pen or the ridiculously high price .With a marvellous design it surely looks like a winner at face value. It could be priced somewhere between Rs 25000, to 27000 and is all set to hit the market very soon.

Cell phones which are used extensively ultimately become outdated and are considered useless by the consumers. Therefore, they have a high tendency to land up in waste bins and get stacked away for years in people’s drawers. Such phones which are thrown away find themselves ultimately into public landfills which results in pollution of the groundwater and is thus very harmful for our living environment. Pacebutler is one of the companies which specializes in cell phone recycling and has committed itself for this purpose since more than two decades. Consumers get paid for sending the company their old and discarded phones. Check out their website to know more in details about the useful work they do for utilizing discarded cell phones and also for benefiting charity organizations. You can also read Pacebutler Corporation Reviews to have an in-depth understanding of the organization.

First on privacy. The new Firefox is built with extended privacy controls that you you to open a new private browsing window without closing or changing your current browsing session. Below are some scenarios on how it might be a useful fe
ature:

You can shop for a birthday gift in a private window with your existing browsing session uninterrupted.

You can also use a private browsing window to check multiple email accounts simultaneously

The other major update is the new Download Manager that is now accessible directly through the toolbar so you don't have to open a separate window each time you want to see the status of your downloads. The new Download Manager box on the toolbar will allow users to search for downloaded items, clear download history, or even pause or resume downloads at will.

The same features have been applied to the mobile version of Firefox on Android that is available through the Google Play store.

Download Firefox for Windows, Mac, Linux and Android

what was the first thing you did when you found out that Blackberry had launched the new Blackberry 10? You probably searched around for it on a couple of blogs and read the specs.

But Blackberry wants to you to experience the Blackberry 10 in a whole new way. Now, instead of reading reviews from random people and going through the features, you can actually experience the new Blackberry 10 on your Android phone or iPhone by simply going to the 'Blackberry Glimpse' website.

Glimpse provides an interactive walkthrough of the new Blackberry 10 experience features and lets you test the new OS feature by feature. The site is optimized for Android, iPhone and all tablets but not for any other mobile operating system.

This is definitely a great new step by Blackberry to give users the ability to experience the features of the mobile operating system without just having to read the specifications or reviews. Let's hope Google and Apple catch up with this feature to preview their future mobile operating systems.

Facebook just announced the much awaited 'Home' app on Android and it looks like it is nothing more than a simple but very feature-rich launcher app for Android phones and tablets.

As per the details shared by MostAwesomeTech:

The Facebook home app will sit on your Android phone on the homescreen. Your face will be centered at the bottom of the screen like a button, and you’ll swipe up to see your apps. You’ll be able to tap on people, and bring up your messages with those people, even as you flip through different apps. You can also swipe through different “home screens” that show mainly your friend’s photos as you swipe along.

This is obviously a great new step by Facebook into making phones more social than the already are and as Mark said "home [app] is meant to make the world more open and connected".

The new ‘home’ launcher app will be available for download through Google Play on April 12.

Since Jony Ive took the 'design' office at Apple, there have been rumors that he is working consistently to direct the design team away from skeuomorphic designs and into a new and different approach for the future of iOS.

Gruber from DaringFireball, the most well informed blogger on all-things-Apple, has two very interesting insights about the upcoming changes in iOS 7.

iOS 7 is running behind, and engineers have been pulled from OS X 10.9 to work on it. (The opposite thing happened in 2007 when engineers were pulled off from OS X development to focus on iPhone as the launch schedule was running late)

iOS engineers with carry privileges all have some sort of polarizing filter on their iPhone displays, such that it greatly decreases viewing angles, thus making it difficult for observers to see the apparently rather significant system-wide UI overhaul.

According to Gruber, "Ive’s work is apparently making many people really happy, but will also apparently make rich-texture-loving designers sad."

In a special event today Facebook has announced Graph search which is a new way to sort through your list of friends and connections and Facebook.

Graph Search will appear as a bigger search bar at the top of each page. When you search for something, that search not only determines the set of results you get, but also serves as a title for the page. You can edit the title – and in doing so create your own custom view of the content you and your friends have shared on Facebook.

Graph Search and web search are very different. Web search is designed to take a set of keywords (for example: “hip hop”) and provide the best possible results that match those keywords. With Graph Search you combine phrases (for example: "my friends in New York who like Jay-Z") to get that set of people, places, photos or other content that's been shared on Facebook. We believe they have very different uses.

Another big difference from web search is that every piece of content on Facebook has its own audience, and most content isn't public. We’ve built Graph Search from the start with privacy in mind, and it respects the privacy and audience of each piece of content on Facebook. It makes finding new things much easier, but you can only see what you could already view elsewhere on Facebook.

The Graph Search beta starts today. Go to www.facebook.com/graphsearch to get on the waitlist.

Remember the pre-Timeline era on Facebook? Most people seemed to love it that way and it seems that Facebook agrees as it has begun to roll out a single-column layout version of Timeline for users which looks much similar to the old layout which Facebook offered before Timeline.

The new single-column layout puts an emphasis on messaging while putting photos, app activities and other stuff have been docked to the right in a sidebar. Right now, this new layout is being rolled out in New Zealand and more countries will follow soon. Take a look below for some of the screenshots:

The display panel on the Ascend 2 is a FHD IPS+ 443 ppi "Super Retina" LCD with 1,080 x 1,920 resolution. As for the camera, the 13-megapixel BSI shooter has an f/2.2 aperture, a 5P lens and a hybrid IR filter. Audio-wise, "super hands free" will allow you to talk to the device (and hear the conversation) up to 2 meters away. It has a whopping 3,000 mAH battery which is optimized by the company's QPC and ADRX power-saving tech that helps reduce power consumption.

Huawei's Official Press-Release for Ascend D2

The Huawei Ascend D2 has a 5-inch Super Retina fast response IPS panel display and a resolution of up to 1920 x 1080, perfect for full HD 1080 video playback. With its 443 PPI, the Ascend D2 provides unprecedented color accuracy and clarity. Protected by the anti-scratch Corning® Gorilla® glass, and the dust and water resistant IPX 5/4, the Ascend D2 is tough enough to withstand everyday use.

The Huawei Ascend D2 features a 13MP BSI rear-facing camera with detail capturing technology and an ISO sensitivity level higher than other smartphones in this category. Huawei Ascend D2 also has a tailored manual color temperature adjustment function to provide a professional-level photography experience.

Huawei Ascend D2's 3000mAh battery is optimized by Huawei's QPC and ADRX smart power-saving technology. Leveraging Huawei's more than 20 years of telecommunications know-how, QPC technology lowers battery consumption by automatically turning off the transmitter circuit when data transmission is not in use. Its ADRX technology identifies and automatically adjusts the DRX cycle based on the network status, reducing power consumption during standby mode by over 20 percent. In addition, Huawei's proprietary fast battery charging technology enables the Huawei Ascend D2 to be fully charged in 30 percent less time than its takes other smartphones under the same electricity conditions.

The Huawei Ascend D2's 'swift sharing' makes it easier than ever to share. With a Wi-Fi connection, uploading pictures, videos and other files is two- to three-times faster with the Ascend D2 than other smartphones in the market. Its 'super hands-free' function transforms the Ascend D2 into a conversation sharing portal to receive sounds within a radius of 1.5m. The Ascend D2 also supports Dolby® surrounding sound and stereo recording.

The Huawei Ascend D2 has a stylish and elegant design with an aluminum body and metal frame. Weighing just 170g and measuring 9.9mm thin, its curved design fits comfortably in the hand. Available in pure white and crystal blue, the Huawei Ascend D2 will also be produced in a 4.7-inch screen version. The Huawei Ascend D2 will be on sale in China in January 2013, and in Japan in the future.

It's a no-brainer that the next version of Apple's mobile operating system, iOS 7, is already under heavy testing at the Cupertino campus and so is the new iPhone 5S / 6.

Upcomign Mailbox app for iPhone

But what's intriguing here is the future of iPhone and iOS and how Apple plans to gain more and more of the market share without opening up. The new iOS 7 will therefore be a very interesting update unlike any other iOS version to date.

No more Skeumorphic designs

As announced earlier, Scott Forstall will be leaving Apple officially this year and the role will be passed on to Craig Federighi will lead both iOS and OS X. (probably this means we will get to see more iOS / OS X integration). Also, Jony Ive, the design god at Apple, will take responsbility for human interaction design across all Apple products (software as well as hardware). It is important to note that unlike Forstall, neither Federighi not Ive seems to be fans of skeuomorphic designs so we may get to see a major change in design of iOS 7.

iOS 7 will be a major update

iOS 7 will be a major update as compared to any other iOS version in history, or at least we can hope so. iOS 6 was a disappointment to most and no more than just an incremental update. Android is catching up fast and it is time for Apple to think seriously about how it can sustain its ecosystem for long.

What about the new iPhone 6

The iPhone 5 came out with a major design upgrade so we are really not sure how iPhone 6 will be any different. Perhaps the usual, lighter, faster, thinner? Or perhaps Apple surprise the people in a whole new way, you never know.

The wait is over. As reported earlier, Ubuntu has taken the wrap off its new touch-based OS but only for mobile (no love for tablets) but unfortunately we won't get to see it in a phone any sooner than 2014.

The mobile version of Ubuntu is built around the existing Android kernel and drivers, supporting both ARM and x86 processors. The first thing you will notice is the sweet design of this new boy which is definitely catches the eye to an extent. Still, we think it takes a lot of design cue from the current version of Android.

Ubuntu is obviously putting more focus on developing the app ecosystem for its new phone OS with help from developers who are already developing apps for the Ubuntu Software Center. The other feature of this OS is that developers can turn their web apps native which means they will able to develop full scale mobile apps for Ubuntu phone OS just only using HTML5. Of course, others will still have the option to use C/C++ and OpenGL to develop high-end applications and games.

The user-interface in the new Ubuntu phone OS is all about touch-based gestures. A swipe from the right edge takes you back to the last app you were using; another swipe takes you back to the app you used before that. Swiping up from the bottom edge of the phone reveals app controls.

This might be the first ever mobile OS which does not require the use of a physical button at all. In that case, we will find out when we actually see one coming.

Follow on to the Ubuntu website to know more.

The newKube is one such MP3 player device designed by the Singapore electronics manufacturer Bluetree Electronics which claims it to be the world's smallest MP3 Player. The device will make its debut at CES 2013.

According to a press-release, The NewKube is actually the third generation of the renowned Kube family of compact MP3 players that deliver clear, crisp audio playback of music optimized by genre in a tiny device with a long battery life. A fully charged NewKube offers a non-stop audio experience on a cross-country flight without running out of battery power.

Some of the features include:

Lock button - to prevent accidentals

Repeat button - not found in comparable simple MP3 players such as the iPod Shuffle

Jump Folder - allows you to get to the specific song location, also not found in simple MP3 players like the iPod Shuffle.

EQ Pre-sets - lets users select music settings for optimized playback of Pop, Rock, Classical music and other genres.

NewKube has a new design, a better looking case, and new colors.

The newKube reads the commonly available microSD card with sizes ranging from 512MB up to 32GB giving you 8000 songs. newKube also retains its ability to have 6 hours of continuous play in a single one hour charge. Now your music is with you all the time.

The previous record was held by the 2009 iPod Shuffle which was the size of a thumb and could hold up to 1000 songs.

On the eve of Dec 31, 2012, the whole world witnessed an uncalled-for unity as everyone joined in to celebrate the arrival of the new year 2013 with new hopes and wishes. Promises were made, resolutions were chartered and goals were realized.

Here are some photos of this annual event being celebrated all around the world across all seven continents. And while we are at it, here 4 fun geeky facts about 2013:

Facts about 2013

2013 is composed of four different digits, and is the first such year since 1987.

2013 is composed of four sequential digits, although obviously not in order. The last such year was nearly 600 years ago, back in 1432. But the next such year is only 18 years away.

2013, 2014, and 2015 are consecutive years each of which is the product of three distinct primes (3 x 11 x 61, 2 x 19 x 53, and 5 x 13 x 31, respectively). The last such three-year sequence was back in 1885-1887, and the next one isn’t until 2665-2667.

As was 2012, 2013 is one of only 45 multi-digit numbers that, when spelled out in English, are alliterative (i.e., “two thousand thirteen”).

The post-PC era is here. 2013 officially marks the start of a new generation where mobiles, tablets and phablets are the markets at war and currently Apple with its iPhone/iPad and Google with Android are taking the lead.

However now it is time to look beyond Android and iOS and see how others are planning to capture a share of the mobile and tablets market. Microsoft is trying hard with its new Windows 8 platform which is not just a dekptop/laptop operating system but is also optimized for touch-based devices, but unfortunately the sales are disappointing.

Surprisingly Ubuntu, the free operating system built on top of Linux, also seems to be eyeing closely to get into the touch devices market. Earlier, the company launched Ubuntu for Android which was meant to provide a full desktop experience powered by a dual-core Android phone. And now, they have a counter running on their website that says:

So close, you can almost touch it.

Perhaps Ubuntu is about to make an official debut as a serious contender in the mobile and tablet OS market. We will find out tomorrow!

The Canadian government is doing lots to attract new businesses, and their efforts are making it easy to know what to do if you're interested in moving your business to their country.

Where to find resources

If you're looking for resources on how to start your business' move to Canada, check out the website Invest in Canada. Here you'll find business statistics, information on individual provinces and cities, and a comprehensive look at how various businesses and industries are doing in the Canadian market. The site offers information on how the Canadian economy is fairing compared to other countries, and how the country's international and national trade markets look. Also, the site offers the Global Investment Network tool which allows you view wage rates, business costs, and accurate information for your business plan. These services are free.

The Canadian Trade Commissioner Service is another service provided by the Canadian government to help non-Canadians interested in doing business in Canada find Canadian suppliers, get it contact with Canadian companies, and help with investment needs.

Subsidiary or branch operation?

Once you've made the decision to incorporate in Canada, you need to determine if you want to create subsidiary or a branch operation. A branch operation allows you to conduct business directly in Canada. Both types of corporations are taxed differently and raise capital and receive loans differently. For instance, a subsidiary cannot be consolidated with other operations for handling foreign taxes. For this reason, a establishing a branch can help offset initial costs.

Incorporate federally or provincially?

After you've determined if you'll operate as a subsidiary or branch, you need to decide if you want to incorporate federally or provincially. Federally incorporated companies can conduct business throughout Canada. You will have to follow provincial regulations and pay a license or registration fee in some provinces, but your company can conduct business under its corporate name. If you choose to incorporate provincially, other provinces may be able to stop you from using your corporate name if a company of a similar name already exists in that province.

If you choose to incorporate federally, a majority of your company's directors must reside in Canada, but that is neither true if you incorporate provincially. However, if you choose provincial incorporation you have to register in each province you wish to conduct business.

Get your books together

No matter what type of business you choose, you will have to file an application for review of your investments under the Investment Canada Act. This applies to all non-Canadian investors, unless there is a specific exemption (such as a business related to Canada's cultural heritage). If your business has less than $5 million in assets, your business and investments will not be reviewed. The application is still required to be on file, however.
Canada can offer lots of great things to the potential investor and business owner. The country boasts one of the best and most stable financial systems in the world, as well as competitive tax rates and a highly-skilled work force. Add ease of doing, starting and expanding business in the country and you can't go wrong with choosing to go with Canada.

If you are in Pakistan right now there is a good chance you are blocked out of using YouTube. Be it entertainment, education, learning or any other form, there is no way to access YouTube unless of course you know the right tools.

This is where Spotflux comes in for the rescue. It is a simple VPN service that harnesses the power of the cloud and creates a simple, yet secure connection between you and the Internet. As a result, your ISP does not know what you are accessing and therefore you are able to bypass any restriction and access blocked websites, even YouTube.

How does it work?

Download Spotflux and enable the software.

Your internet traffic is encrypted and sent through the spotflux cloud.

Spotflux's cloud runs millions of calculations to remove ads, tracking cookies, and other things that follow you around the web.

Viruses and malware are zapped and destroyed.

The location and identity of your devices are concealed.

Your connection to the internet is safer, more private, and unrestricted.

Why we recommend Spotflux?

We recommend Spotflux because it is an investor-backed startup which basically means that you won't have to pay to use it, at least for some time. Also because it is easy to setup, gives amazing performance and does so much more than let you access blocked websites (it actually makes web surfing more secure and protects you from viruses).

If this doesn't click, you can check out our list of free proxy tools to unblock YouTube in Pakistan.

Hartmut Esslinger takes credit for being one of the first people in Apple to work on the design of the Macintosh in 1980s. In his recent book titled "design forward" he reveals some of the rare concept designs of the early Apple computer and tablets from the 1980s which never went into production.

Apple used Esslinger's company Frogdesign extensively in the 1980s. When Steve Jobs saw the work that Frogdesign was doing for Sony he offered them a 2 million/year contract to open an office in Silicon Valley. Jobs wanted them to create a signature look for the new Macintosh line and together they built the Apple IIc which was introduced in 1984.

Below you can see some of the designs created by Frogdesign for the early Apple computers and tablets. More details at designboom.

Microsoft launched the new Windows 8 OS almost 2 months ago and as the stats pour in, it looks like it will be the slowest OS rollout in the history of the software giant, even behind Windows Vista.

A new data chart compiled by web analytics firm Net Applications shows that the Windows 8 adoption trajectory falls way behind Windows Vista. The report shows that Windows 8's online usage share through Dec. 22 was 1.6% of all Windows PCs, an uptick from 1.2% of November but still very low as compared to Windows Vista and generations away in technology years as compared to Windows 7.

To put things in perspective, at the same two-month mark in Vista's release timetable, that OS accounted for 2.2% of all Windows systems, double the month prior.

Net Applications also measures the online usage share of operating systems for all major computing system device types, including smartphones, tablets, and game consoles in addition to PCs. When you account for all of those hardware platforms, Windows 8 currently has about a 1.4 percent share of the overall OS market.

In the recent YouTube saga in Pakistan there have been certain developments which can be classified as either funny or as a serious miscommunication by the government.

I chaird a high level mting w/all stakeholders on the Utube.Gud job by PTA 2 block anti iIslamic material!Pl xpect Utube unblocked in 24hrs.

- @SenRehmanMalik

Earlier, the Interior Minister announced through a tweet that he chaired a high-level meeting in Islamabad on the issue of unblocking YouTube in Pakistan with all stakeholders (PTA and Google) and a directive was passed to unblock YouTube while deploying a 'powerful firewall software' to block access to URLs containing inappropriate or blasphemous content.

گستاخانہ فلم کے مواد کی موجودگی؛وزیر اعظم کایو ٹیوب دوبارہ بند کرنے کا حکم

-Geo News

In afternoon today, the ban was lifted and YouTube was accessible through all major ISPs. However, that lasted for only a mere 4 hours before the Prime Minister intervened the situation, dissing the Interior Minister's directive, and instead re-issued a directive to ban YouTube again for presence of blasphemous content (which is absurd and makes everyone think how stupid the government is). Hearing from of our sources from within the ministry it is believed that the government is trying to resolve the issue around the ban and once the issue is settled, it will be unblocked again although there is no expected date or time.

Again, YouTube is now inaccessible and blocked on all major ISPs and there is no word from the government when it will be unblocked for good. Below you will find a couple of tools that can you circumvent the ban and access YouTube again.

Meanwhile, keep checking Is YouTube blocked in Pakistan? to know the status of the ban, we will keep updating as the story progresses.
