According to Digitimes,

Acer is expected to adopt Corning's reinforced glass substrate and simply print color on its back to allow the substrate to function like a notebook cover for a frameless design. The design will help reduce the thickness of the ultra-thin notebook and can also reduce material costs.

Asus and Fujitsu have already introduced this concept a few months back. But the idea of an ultra think glass notebook with multi-touch keyboard still sounds very promising. Digitimes' inside sources said that this new device could be launched in the second half of 2010.

But the question remains that is the rumors are correct, would you go for this device?

Although there is no word about the pricing as Google is trying to target a bigger mobile phone Market in India which is dominated by Nokia and Blackberry.  However, according to some sources, the price will be much lower than the original one.

The original Nexus One features 5 megapixel camera with auto focus and LED flash, 3.7 inch AMOLED touch screen, 512MB Flash along with a 4GB microSD slot, video recording at 20 frames per second and numerous Google services such as Gmail, Google Search etc.

For all that's in the air for now, a report suggests that the new Nexus One for India will have a 3.7 inch AMOLED touch screen and Snapdragon processor but with a downgraded memory and Camera. Now, let's wait and watch if Google really makes a hit on this one.

In the video below, Adobe has demonstrated some of the capabilities of the HP Slate running Flash on the web, such as being able to play videos anywhere on the Internet and not just YouTube. Also, Flash will allow users to access other content-rich applications on the web such as magazines and casual Flash-based games. An interesting fact indicates that 80% of the top 100 websites on the web use Flash to deliver content in some way.

To Flash or not to Flash, that's another debate for now but we certainly know that a cult out there definitely wants to see Flash in the future of mobile devices. And of course given that the iPad won't have support for Flash on the web, HP might have just created the right competition for Apple with their Slate PC.

This brings a challenge to Capcom's Street Fighter IV which has so far held a dominant position in the App Store. More of Namco's plans for Tekken on iPhone will be revealed later.

The commercial starts off demonstrating most of the features of iPad like browsing photos, downloading ebooks from Apple Book store, full screen version of Safari browser and other Google service. In the end, commercial shows April 3, which is the launch date for Apple iPad Wi-Fi version in US. The other model, WiFi and 3G, are expected to launch a month later.

The commercial was backed by “There Goes My Love” by Blue Van which races though a variety of iPad features.

The application was released for iPhone in January 2009 and it also works on Windows Mobile, J2ME, Blackberry, and Symbian S60 phones. Benjamin Gauthey from Microsoft Tag team said, “We work to meet our commitment of ensuring that all Smartphone users can access Tag. We’re nearly there with the Tag Reader already working with the major mobile platforms”. A wave or rumours are spreading on the internet saying that Microsft will be releasing the Tag application to other mobile devices as well.

Android users can get the application from Android Marketplace by searching for “Microsoft Tag” or by opening gettag.mobi on their Android phone.

That's where the news comes in that the Apple Employees will be the first ones to get their hands on Apple iPad on 10 March and it will be available for customers from March 26 for the Wi-Fi models. The 3G model sales will be available in Apple stores in late April or May.

It was also confirmed by a Southern California Apple Store Manager that the iPad will be available on March 10, 2010 for Apple Store employees for training followed by TV Commercials which will air on 15th March and will then be finally available for public sales on March 26, 2010. Moreover, according to a report,  Apple fans who camp out to await iPad sales will receive a special gift from Apple.

Other rumors also suggest that there is a production bottleneck which can delay Apple iPad’s launch and can derail its sales for March.

What should we expect from all the different rumours going on about the launch of the much hyped, Apple iPad? All we can do right now is wait for March 10 and see what happens.

For now, there are only a couple of features added to the app but it still seems to pretty buggy. The most interesting feature of all is the integration of Zune.net into status updates which can automatically update your status with the song you are listening to, along with it's information on Zune.net.

The UI itself is one of the other interesting bits as it can be seen that the app uses large font for headings, instead of tabs, keeping in tone with the metro UI announced for the Windows Phone 7 Series recently.

Apart from that, you can view the news feed, view your complete friends list and view other people's profiles along with their wall, photos and info. The ability of send/receive messages is not available for now but will soon be added through an app update.

But a recent development in the App Store process indicates that Apple has plans to introduce a new 'Explicit' category to the App Store which shall serve as the home for all adult and sex-related apps. Though, the category has already been pushed to the developers in the iTunesConnect App submission form, it still has time before it makes an appearance on the iTunes App Store.

If one can see it right, this is a clear indication that Apple takes the potential of adult-apps on the iPhone very seriously in terms of revenue as well as popularity and is providing a chance for developers to add their adult-apps on the App Store, later on for which parental controls may be provided.

Too early to wish for Christmas already, but if Apple finally manages to launch the 'Explicit' category in the App Store for users, it would definitely cheer up some of the desperate souls.

One such new tool that is making a lot of buzz these days is the Gull1hack Jailbreak Tool for the iPhone 3G, 3GS and the iPod Touch. The developers of the tool claim that Gull1hack can Jailbreak any iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch running on the new baseband 05.12.01 which makes it the only tool to be able to do so as the iPhone Dev nor Geohotz have released any tool that does the same.

However, Musclenerd from the iPhone Dev team believes that Gull1hack appears to be a fake tool based on some observations and since the iPhone Dev team has been the only active team at such projects, so I will take MuscleNerd's word for it.

Good news for all the Jailbreakers out there is that an exploit in the new baseband has been found already so a Jailbreaking tool for the iPhone and iPod Touch would be released by the iPhone Dev team soon anyway.

Accroding to Kevin, several of the stock apps found in the iPhone are missing from the iPad (based on the demo by Steve Jobs and the visuals on Apple.com) and since both the devices run on the same OS, the only explanation for this could be that Apple is preparing to introduce all these apps as widgets in a dashboard, much like the same one found in Mac OS X. Perhaps! this is some of the surprise-pie that Apple wants to save for the iPad launch. A render of the iPad with a dashboard, made by Macpredictions, can be seen above.

On the other hand, as much as we believe that introducing multitasking in its mobile devices would be the last thing Apple plans to do, we also believe that iPad is more than just a mobile device, it's a whole new class.

And for Apple to make the iPad a successful and usable product, it would have to go beyond than just making it look like a big-sized iPod Touch and the only way that can be done is by introducing a new feature to the OS, such as multitasking. Let's wait to find out, the pre-orders for the iPad are expected to begin on 25th February.

As predicted and previewed, the iPadOS shares its core with the iPhoneOS and does almost everything that the iPhone does. Good thing is that it runs all the 140,000 iPhone apps (in standard, and full-screen mode) and can also be used in landscape and portrait modes thanks to the accelerometer on board.

For the specs of the device, we have a 9.7 inch IPS multitouch display along with a 1GHz in-house processor chip by Apple. Comes in 16GB, 32GB to 64GB and boasts a battery-time of up to 10 hours in active mode and up to a month in standby-mode.

According to Phil the HP Slate project started around 5 years ago and has finally developed enough to be released as a consumer product. Also, he claims that 2010 can be labeled as the year of the tablet due to the "convergence of low cost, low powered processors" and Windows 7 which is a touch-aware OS.

No details about the hardware, pricing or the availability of the device although it is expected that the device will be launched later this year. On the other hand, let's hope Apple has something better to offer at their Jan. 27 event. [Thanks Neowin]

While it's hard to debate over whether this is the real thing or not, here is what Dustin has to say about it:

I have reason to believe these are real, and that the person who took/released them purposefully manipulated the reflections to add doubt about their authenticity.

The photos, though quite realistic and appealing, still do not convince us into believing that it is the "real thing" by Apple. However, this could also be the photos of an early Apple Tablet prototype or probably Dustin had a lot of free time at hands to play with Photoshop and some 3D tools. Only a day more to go and we shall come to know all about it first-hand by Apple at the Special Event on Jan. 27 at the Yerba Buena Arts Center.

According to BoyGeniusReport, the details about the iPhone OS 4.0 have been leaked through an inside Apple contact. Here are some of the features in the new OS.

• There will be multi-touch gestures OS-wide.
• “A few new ways” to run applications in the background — multitasking.
• Many graphical and UI changes to make navigating through the OS easier and more efficient.
• The update will supposedly be available for only the iPhone 3G and 3GS.
• A brand new syncing ability for the contacts and calendar applications.

This is definitely some very interesting and exciting news for all the Apple fans out there. However, it's almost impossible to validate the authenticity of any such leaked material until Apple officially announces the new OS.

Hopefully! the product announcement by Apple on Jan. 27th will bridge the gaps between the rumors and the reality.

The folks at the French website Nowhere Else have made a visual rumor sheet of the iPhone 4G with annotations (Click on the image to enlarge). Much like the Tablet rumors sheet shared by us earlier, the annotations basically describe the nature of a rumor and its likeliness to happen in terms of a percentage.

OLED display, 5-megapixel camera, front-facing camera and a dual-core processor are some of the rumors that seem highly probable to be included in the new iPhone 4G and as for a removable battery, not very much.

It is expected of Apple to unveil the iPhone OS 4.0 on Jan. 27th at the Special Event along with the new Apple Tablet. However the iPhone 4G is expected to be launched somewhere between May and July.

The event is invitation-only and is to be held at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Theater in San Francisco on January 27 (as reported earlier). The tagline for the invitation 'Come see our latest creation' hints that the event will be more than a only a MacBook, iPod or iPhone related event, rather something new and innovative.

Mostly! what we can predict about the event is that Apple will be announcing the new Tablet that we all have been waiting for. However, iPhone 4.0 is also expected to make an appearance somehow.

For the curious minds, we even have a Preview of the Apple Tablet OS. Let's hope good ol' Steve is back on stage to tell us more about it on Jan 27th.

The script, named Gordon, doesn't enable full flash support for the iPhone rather hacks the Flash webpage into serving files through JavaScript which can easily be run on mobile Safari. However, for it to work, the website owners must incorporate the code on each and every webpage where they want the Flash files to be able to play on iPhone.

The script is open-source and available here. Interestingly! it's the year when two million Flash developers will make their way to the iPhone platform thanks to the Adobe CS5 which includes a native 'Packager for iPhone' to let developers deploy their Flash apps on the iPhone.

Userse can easily create iPhone apps with customizable background images and menu buttons and transition schemes. Also, the builder allows to create custom menus with logos and buttons that link to and play audio, video, and image files.

For those with a iPhone developer account who want to use AppOmator for building purposes only, they can download the build at a cost of $200 per app and then submit it to the App Store through their own developer account. However, AppOmator also offers app management services to those who don't have an iPhone developer account, for only $15 a month.

This is the perfect solution for content-based apps such as apps of bands which consist of music previews, documentaries and videos with chapter menus and artist portfolios. AppOmator will be launched to the public in early February.
