Guys, tomorrow will be the UFC 94 Fight in the MMA so watch out for the UFC 94 Live Stream online. Or if you got the PPV, then good, you won’t be needing any stream. This match will start at 7pm PT/10pm ET, Jan. 31, 2009 and yes, it will be live via PPV. But with most of us with tough resourcefulness, I am sure, there would be lots of UFC 94 live streaming to come up minutes before the event.

UFC 94 Live Streaming Online

The main event for the UFC 94 Fight is Georges St-Pierre vs BJ Penn - the meeting of the tough unrelenting wrestler and the prodigy boxer and Jiu Jitsu man.
Being an engineering student who is being fed with exquisite home designs and concepts on a daily basis during my college days, one thing that never gets out of my head is installing lots of lamps inside my own future room, in my own future house of course

You see, I never enjoyed these things and was never blessed with such ornamentation in the house. But one thing I kept so religiously - dream and wish for the time being. And I guess this wish is getting answered little by little.

When I came to Japan in 2006, I happened to join a mailing list which caters the announcement of for sale as well as give away things, usually from the foreigners who happens to upgrade appliances or maybe return to their home country. From this mailing list, I was able to get two (2) table lamps for free. Now I got one installed on my home study table while the other one is happily sitting on my desk at the University laboratory. Just last month, I got a call from a buddy, asking me if I wanted to give his desk lamps a new home. I declined in a nice way and told him that I would love to receive torchieres for our living room.

Now I am not saying that you should rely on free things all the time. I mean there are affordable lamps from online stores out there that you can try - Farreys.com for example. They offer a wide variety of lamps including floor lamps, task lamps and reading lamps among many others.

So got lamps? Find your way and get ‘em lamps!

Being updated to local news and reports about the Philippines via television has quiet been a burden to most of us living or residing in the foreign countries. With this apparent need in the air, various television networks resorted to offering channel subscriptions for us to be able to receive live feeds. Those who cannot afford to subscribe to the service opted for the online live streaming media, broadcasting most of the local tv stations such as GMA7 and ABS-CBN. Now you can watch GMA7 Live Streaming and ABS-CBN Live Streaming for free, among other channels that are available somewhere out in the Internet world. Hence, this one you are watching right now in this very site.

Thanks to the good people who made this service embeddable via websites. Special mention goes to www.pinaychannel.com.

Enjoy your new addiction - GMA7 Live Streaming, while I am contemplating on adding ABS-CBN Live Streaming too. Let’s see what I can come up with.

The Tsukuba Gakuensai (School Festival) 2008 was conducted on the 11th til the 13th of October. Gakuensai literally means school festival. It is where various student groups and organizations participate in a university-wide festivity, which usually involves selling local and international products alongside various cultural presentations and modern day musical concerts by local and invited groups, guests and performers alike. Gakuensai is held at universities all over Japan.

Again, this time of the Tsukuba Gakuensai, the Filipino Association of Students in Tsukuba also known as the FAST, was able to participate in the selling activity.

The FAST booth:

And these are the foods we sold: Chicken Adobo, Lugaw (porridge), Philippine canned goods and sweet delicacies:

There are lots of things in the Gakuensai - some of them you may find funny and strange depending on your cultural orientation and exposure. Take this one for example:

Apparently, this Japanese guy looks very happy because I pretended to read the flyer he was distributing to the passing festival goers.

At the closing night, we were delighted with stage performances like modern dance presentation and musical bands.

At the very end, there was this beautiful fireworks:

Good Looking Models? I think I got some of them in store now, but definitely not the human type or gadgets that you have been dreaming of.

In this post, you will be introduced to a different kind of Good Looking Models - within the domain of climate change. Hmn, so what were you thinking huh?

Apparently, there have been some skeptics who often argue that the currently prevailing predictions about global warming, droughts and other related natural occurrences are but results of computer simulations and models and thus, they are not based on experimental science.

But a paper by Thomas Reichler and Junsu Kim titled “How Well do Coupled Models Simulate Today’s Climate?” published in April’s Bulletin of the American Meteorological Society, brought new light to the cascading sheets of debates on the matter. Reichler and Kim;

…compared the output of climate models against observations of the present climate. They applied this simple-seeming method to about fifty different national and international climate models that have been developed over the past twenty years by researchers at major climate research centres in Australia, Canada, France, Korea, Russia, UK, and USA. Within their meta-analysis were predictions from the model used by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) in its 2007 report.

With results bearing close to real situation scenarios, Reichler and Kim’s efforts brought new image of trust on the computational climate models that have been going around the research arena for quiet sometime, hence, the Good Looking Models. It is also called as “Coupled Models” - bearing the two main sets of data being compared for a more consolidated model results.

Reichler further said that;

…and the best models are now capable of simulating present-day climate with accuracy approaching conventional atmospheric observations.” He adds that, “We can now place a much higher level of confidence in model-based projections of climate change than in the past.

With the underlying complexities in studying the evolution of climate, the researchers of Good Looking Models agreed that even though their method of analysis may bring more credible results, the way to knowing the exact projections of nature’s behavior is still far-fetched.
