A Fond Farwell From the Skeptic Yogi

Well folks, it’s the end of an era, and effective immediately, the Skeptic Yogi blog is going to retire to that big blog heaven in the sky. The thought to make a hard stop to the blog occurred to me a few days ago, and I really felt it was important to celebrate an official end rather than just abandon the site by starving it from new posts. One of the biggest things I’ve promised myself to practice in life is to finish what I start, and this is a perfect example of mindfully clearing out the old, to make room for new things to happen.

I’m not sure what possessed me to take on this voyeuristic project in the first place. I guess I wanted to share my thoughts and ideas about spirituality, personal growth and the pursuit of happiness with like-minded people. It’s also served as a venue for keeping my friends from far away up to date with my life. But there’s a fine line a writer must walk between being honest, and sharing too much, and sometimes I wobbled over that line to the detriment of my relationship with others. Mostly though, I just connected with an awesome group of people.

But like all great adventures, its time for this one to come to an end. Its time for me to take all that I’ve learned about myself over the last year and a half and start applying it in a direction that makes sense for me. Its time for me to start looking beyond myself to the great opportunities that lay ahead. I’ve spent so much time and energy gathering information and preparing for this new big life, so now its time to take what I’ve learned, and start actually engaging in it.

Before I go, I want to share my gratitude with you for reading my little blog all this time, and for sharing your thoughts, ideas and encouragement with me along the way. These are pretty grim times according to mainstream media, but I do hope you all balance your intake of depressing news with a healthy dose of inspiring content, because alas, life is still as beautiful as it was a year ago.
