Skinnalicious Contest Voting Begins!

We have reached the voting stage of the contest and we are happy to see there are many wonderful entries. We thank all of you who participated and extend a congratulations to all the entrants. You are all winners to us. Of course there can only be one winner and second place winner to win the prizes.

Because we have so many entries it is not possible to use the poll module for voting so we will use the Rating system. The voting will go like this. The first thing to do will be to go to the "Featured Work Archive" option in the main menu and click it. You will find that on the left side towards the top of the front page, also known as the home page. When the page that says "Screenshots" at the top comes up click on the word "Contest" so only the contest entries will be viewed. It is a little folder with the word Contest that is directly under the word Screenshot and to the left a little. Then you can give it a "rating" that will count as a vote. When you are looking at the individual piece of work you will see the words "Rate It" to the far right of the picture. That is what you will click to bring up the rating numbers. Give your choice a 10 and you are done. You will only be able to vote for your choice one time.

Since there are only wallpapers in the contest, we will only have need of one voting round instead of two. The voting will go until JUNE 10 instead of June 5th and then June 20. The Winners will be announced on JUNE 11. Good luck to Everyone and Thanks to All who entered.

Today is the day for the Big Announcement!! We have been anxiously awaiting to tell you some very cool news........

Skinnalicious is having a Contest open to ALL Members

First Prize winner will receive a years subscription to the Platinum Club at Daz3D. or $100 cash

Second Place winner will recieve a 3 month subscription to the Platinum Club at Daz 3D or $25 cash
Those who's work makes it to the second, or final round will recieve a subdomain of their own for a year.

The contest will be open to the following categories:

Wallpaper
WindowBlinds
Rainlendar
Screensavers

The Staff of Skinnalicious and their families are not allowed to enter.

Members will get to vote in each category for their choice. Then the most voted for in each category will be put into a single category for final voting. In case of a tie, the

Skinnalicious Staff will have final say for that particular piece. All work will be considered on it's own merit and NOT on what category it is in. In other words a wallpaper

will not be compared to a windowblind. A Rainy will not be compared to a screensaver and so on.

You will have 45 days from today to upload your submission. There will be a special category in the download section just for this occassion. It will be called, of course,

Contest!

Voting will begin on the 46th day which will be Monday May 26th. This will be for the first round and you will be able to vote for one in each category if you wish.

Voting in the first round will end on June 5th.

Entries in the second, or final round will be voted on until Thursday June 19th.

We will announce the Winners on Friday June 20th.

FireFox 3 Beta 5 Released

Mozilla has released the next beta in the row to the final 3 version. This is the beta 5. I have been using beta 4 since it has been released without any problem. As a matter of fact it is very stable, uses so much less resources that it would be the one major reason for me to keep using it! The downside so far? If you do use a lot of addons you will be confronted with a lot of incompatibility. They won't be available for the beta versions (yet). Do I miss them? None whatsoever........

Adobe Photoshop CS4 leaked?

I was quite surprised when I got a messagethat Adobe Photoshop CS4 (codename Stonehenge 11.0) has been leaked. I checked several of the BitTorrent sites and it indeed looks like it is available. Mind you, using it does mean it is illegal since none of the CS3 serials will work. So that means digging a little more to get it to work because I wanted to testdrive it.
I was able to start it. Once. I didn't discover any major differences unless it must be a slightly faster startup. Rumor is that this build is not about new features but about Vista compatibilty. Well, let's wait and see.....

Free PhotoShop Beta launches online...

I think it is pretty exciting that one of the worlds leading Graphics program is going "live" online for FREE. It seems like we just found out a couple days ago this was going to happen! Yep, PhotoShop is now available to anyone with an internet connection for FREE. It is a slimmed down version from the one that is purchased, but for those who would not have a chance to ever have it otherwise, it is most fantastic.

Panasonic announces Lumix DMC-FX500

The latest offering from Panasonic features a 5x optical zoom that starts at 25mm (in 35mm terms), featuring the company's O.I.S anti-shake system. The FX500 is also the first Panasonic to feature a touch-screen interface, which can be controlled using either fingertips or the included stylus.

Skinning Mate Launched

Skinning Mate did launch a new community. We were already running Skinnalicious which is known to most of you. But also known to most of you are the major problems we had with the servers lately. That made us look for an alternative without closing down Skinnalicious which, in our opinion, still is a great community that is fighting it's way back to where it once was.
So is Skinning Mate going to be a mirror, a copy of Skinnalicious? In terms of friendliness: absolutely! And this will also be a place where skinning will be an important part of the whole content. Other than that we hope to find ways to distinguish this place from others, including Skinnalicious in such a way that you will be attracted time after time after time.....
So, if you have any ideas, suggestions, no matter how strange they sound, please feel free to contact us.....Let us be the judge
