Skinny phones it in as he and Houli reminisce about all the laughs they’ve had over the years. Skinny hangs up and Houli tells us all about his new show, HIBERNIAN RADIO, starting on Sat. Jan. 5^th, recorded at Lizzie McNeill’s every Wed. night, and dedicated to Irish First Responders in collaboration with the Ancient Order of Hibernians on WSBC 1240AM, so tune into for that folks because Houli can’t quit ye, he’s having too much fun doing Irish radio! Our final guest is Daithi Hand, brother of our friend Sorcha Hand in town from Sligo and visiting his sister in Chicago. Good man! He’s two years into his four-year term and Brian looks back to the night he first met Skinny and Houli at his new apartment, when he threw a getting-to- know-you party for the Irish community of Chicagoland. “I didn’t think everybody would show up….but they did!” Lots of laughs with this great Irishman who explains his work, his Irish dancing, and his excitement about the future. Then after the obits, the lads look back on the last nine years wistfully. Don’t miss this show as we say goodbye to our audience and wish you all a very Merry Christmas!

Heather has a deep background in the not for profit world and talks up the Polar Plunge and the Chicago Marathon and their great fundraising results for Chicago Special Olympics. Then Scott Boldt, originally from Homewood and a former teacher and alum of Mt. Carmel, tells us of his adventures living inBelfast, Ireland for the last twenty years and his life as an Irishman. Fascinating stuff for anybody who’s ever fantasized about moving to Ireland.

Flood Brothers Disposal presents The Skinny & Houli Show and tonight the lads reunite with their old pal from the early days of the show back in 2010, DEA Agent Rick Barrett. Barrett is also known as The History Detective because of his many appearances on the show in years past bringing us history, primarily of Chicago’s Irish police officers serving with distinction. Barrett is a whirlwind of stories, from his early attempts on the Chicago police test, his dad fixing the results, going off to work the DEA and the government. Ricky tells great stories of his work investigating maybe the biggest gangster in Chicago history, Larry Hoover. “Bigger than Al Capone, killed more people at least.” Ricky barely stops for a breath as he finally takes us along on his most famous investigation of Constable Quinn, the first actual Chicago police officer killed in the line of duty. Chicago police brass didn’t want to admit that Barrett found an Irishman and not the “other guy” they had found and given a star of honor, but Barrett was doggedly determined to make sure the Irish man was given the honor and he did not give up, until respect was given by the City of Chicago. Barrett is a hero to the Irish community and we’re so proud to be his pals! Listen in for a lesson in tenacity, grit, and sheer belief in the justice of your cause. Bravo History Detective!

Flood Bros Disposal presents The Skinny & Houli Show and we put together another of our “Best of” shows so we can take advantage of the Thanksgiving holiday. Much to give thanks for, including our past guest Sean Riley, one of the founders and inventors of Dude Wipes, taking it from an idea put together by a group of Southside guys after weekends of partying, to a Visionary Award and eventual partnership with financier Mark Cuban of the Shark Tank TV show. It’s now carried in stores all over the country and Sean and his partners have continued with a line of “Dude Products” promoting hygiene for men. Sean tell us his story and it’s been a great ride for him and his partners pursuing the American dream. We also feature a late breaking interview with Chubs Polfus of McGaffers Saloon in Forest Park as they undertake their 18^th year of helping others with “Christmas with A Cause”. This year’s event takes place on Saturday Dec. 2^nd from 3 til closing, at McGaffer’s 7737 West Roosevelt Road in Forest Park, just off Deplanes, as always. Everybody is invited and all are encouraged to attend the party. Just bring an unwrapped toy for a boy and girl and join in the fun, with plenty of food, drink specials, and an opportunity to play Santa to needy children and a variety of charities that need our help.
