I hope everyone had a great Christmas! :) We've had an awesome and crazy 2011. Many great things have happened this year, one of them being the birth of our new baby girl Olivia. We will try to catch up on our blogging soon :)

Vera contacted us two weeks ago very eager to shoot her maternity session with us. She is 7 months pregnant and all belly ;) I didn't look this good when I was pregnant with my girls. I guess girls do steal their mothers good looks, lol... Vera you look beautiful pregnant and I see your pregnancy glow! Sky had the opportunity to photograph Vera + Hugo in downtown Houston, TX last week. They are a very sweet couple who are expecting a baby boy named Bruno next February. Check out a few teasers:

Tisa + Julius | North Georgia Wedding

Recently I flew to Atlanta and took a drive up to the north Georgia mountains to photograph the amazing wedding of Tisa + Julius. Julius is the owner of Kreativ Touch Photography of Atlanta and he helped me get my start in Wedding Photography nearly a decade ago. I shot some of my first weddings with Julius as my mentor so it was an absolute honor to photograph his wedding! Tisa is one of the most beautiful and relaxed brides I have ever worked with and really seemed to enjoy every moment of her day. She told her bridesmaids "I was her favorite photographer in the whole world" (next to her husband of course) and I really took that to heart. They celebrated their wedding in Crystal Falls Lake, one of the most beautiful locations I've shot in and the set up was gorgeous. I especially loved the bright colors they chose for the wedding. I had a great time hanging out with old friends and capturing incredible moments and details. A big thank you goes out to Tia from Milestone Occasions for making the event spectacular. Houston, TX Wedding at the Ashton Gardens

Carla and I had the opportunity to photograph our first wedding in Texas and it was AMAZING!!! Carly + Mitchell were married last weekend on a beautiful but HOT day in Ashton Gardens. The day was full of love and celebration as all of Carly + Mitchell's closest family and friends attended the beautiful event. Carly was a stunning bride just full of happiness and laughter. They are truly in love which made it easier to catch sweet moments they shared with each other throughout the day.

Tia + Wil | Wedding

Earlier this month I flew back to Atlanta to photograph Tia + Wil's beautiful wedding. It was a warm and sunny afternoon full of love and a little wedding anxiety. Tia had the normal wedding jitters but was radiant and excited her day was finally here. Her bridesmaids were also beautiful and fun to work with. They definitely kept Tia at ease. Wil and the guys were pretty cool and laid back. No worries, just laughter and a little swagg. Wil didn't seem nervous, but anxious to see his bride. I was honored to capture their loving celebration with their family and friends. Check out some of my favorites from the day-

Wedding Albums - It's like Christmas but in August

First off Happy Birthday to our daughter Sofia she turned 3 on Saturday. Wooooohhhhhoooo!!!!! Alyssa will be 7 next month, so I have no more babies in the house. Kids grow waaaaaay to fast.

In more Exciting news, Sky and I received a pretty big delivery on Friday full of gorgeous wedding and engagement albums. Yeeeeehhhhhh!!!!! I didn't take photos a few months ago when we received more than 6 albums at the same time. It is rare to receive that many albums at once. So when my doorbell rang on Friday and I saw all the boxes I grabbed my camera and snapped a few photos of some of the albums :)

To my clients: I can't wait until you receive your beautiful albums. I will be sending them your way today :)

Carly + Mitchell + Kaydee | Part 1

When Carly saw the photographs we took of Drew proposing to Promise (earlier post) she just had to get in front of our lens :) Carly + Mitchell flew down from Kansas to have their engagement pictures taken with us. They also brought along their adorable daughter Kaydee. I met with Carly prior to the session and she was so excited about her pictures and had a lot of sweet ideas. The week of the session it rained day in and day out. The weather cleared up a bit on the day of until they showed up. It just started pouring. The summer in Houston is like monsoon season. The rain didn't seem to dampen their spirits though, and they popped open a couple of umbrellas and went along with it anyway. Until we got drenched. LOL. So we'll try it again in a couple of months. We did manage to get some sweet pics before the storm picked up.

Tia + Wil | engagement

While I was out in Atlanta, I shot a fun e-session on the Smoke Rise golf course with the awesome, soon to be newly weds- Tia + Wil. Since Wil is a golfer we decided to shoot at the course he plays on and I loved the location. Sweet scenery with a beautiful couple. I'm also just getting into golf myself so I was taking in the views just like I was getting ready to tee off, except with a camera and a few lenses :) They also brought their daughter Laila along for a few photos. It was a great day for some relaxed portraits with great light and a loving couple.

Can't wait to shoot your wedding in September ;)

Camilla + Steven | "We did" session

While I was in Atlanta I photographed another sweet portrait session, this time featuring the beautiful couple Camilla + Steven. Camilla loved our work and contacted us a few months after she was married to have some gorgeous portraits taken of her and Steven in their bridal attire. They also wanted to take them at the Georgia Tech campus, where Steven attended college. I loved the idea. It was a really hot summer day in the ATL so I picked out some shady spots with nice light. Set up some romantic scenes and then let the couple fall right into character, naturally.

M'Kaneghay + Roy are expecting!

A couple of weeks ago I flew out to Atlanta to photograph a few portrait sessions of some of our previous and new clients. We have been photographing Kane + Roy's important moments in life for a couple of years now and I feel honored to continue to add to their legacy by documenting their family "history in the making." It's amazing to see the growth of a couple's relationship through photographs. I'm sure I'll be capturing some awesome moments of their son Miles who will be here soon.

I think Miles is gonna love this shot when he grows up.

After the session Roy took Kane to get some Cold Stone. mmmm!

She said YES!!!! The proposal of Promise + Drew

The day before he popped the big question, I received an email from Drew's mother asking if I could hide somewhere and take pictures of Drew proposing to his girlfriend Promise. I was so excited about the idea and so was his mom! I arrived the next day to observe Drew's mother and aunt setting up a sweet little picnic in a romantic spot in downtown Houston. Complete with rose pedals and a bottle of Dom Perignon. Next I see them take off and down the stairs comes Drew and his oblivious bride to be. I quickly ducked behind some trees and pulled out my 200mm lens. It was a very sweet moment and Promise was in shock when she saw the set up. Drew was very nervous but he pulled it off pretty smoothly. They were both so immersed in the moment that neither one of them noticed there was a photographer hiding in the bushes (paparazzi style.) Even though I probably could have been shooting two feet from Promise I doubt she would have seen me. She was in awe. I moved around a little and whenever they glanced my way I would pretend I was taking pictures of trees or whatever was around. LOL. I was so happy my cover wasn't blown. After the exciting event I introduced myself and grabbed a few relaxed portraits of the soon to be newly weds.

Luisa + Jose | Couple's Session P.R.

Carla and I linked up with Luisa + Jose for a simple couple's session on the beach in Puerto Rico. Luisa is one of Carla's childhood friends and seemed really excited to take pictures with us. Luisa + Jose were really laid back and up for pretty much anything. They didn't know I was going to get them all sandy and wet, but when I threw the idea out there they hopped right in. We made some sweet pictures.

Elizabeth + George | Puerto Rico Couples Session!

Elizabeth + George are definitely one of the coolest couples we have worked with. I'm also happy to say that we have all become great friends. They have referred us to so many of their friends and loved ones and we get to hang out with them at every wedding. We also photographed their beautiful and unforgettable wedding day about a year ago in Rhode Island. Elizabeth was one of the beautiful bridesmaids in Rachael + Lofa's wedding (previous blog post) so we got to hang out with them a little during our stay in El Conquistador. I was lucky to have them in front of my lens again for a simple but awesome couples portrait session before they headed back to the states. Beautiful couple + and sweet location = Simply perfect ;)

Rachael + Lofa | Wedding in Puerto Rico!

Carla and I had such an amazing time photographing this destination wedding. Rachael + Lofa are two of the coolest and most beautiful couples we have had the privilege to photograph. They celebrated a very intimate wedding in El Conquistador Resort with only their closest family and friends. I loved everything about this wedding. The people, the location, the colors, details, climate, light, backgrounds... you name it. We coordinated the details through email for about a year with Rachael prior to the wedding and she was completely open to our ideas. Her plan was to have a beautiful wedding that would result in awesome imagery. Not to mention, the unplanned, real, and perfect moments Carla and I observed throughout the day. I especially loved seeing the powerful emotion during the ceremony and capturing the sweet glances Rachael + Lofa shared with each other.

I just had to show off El Conquistador a little ;-) Breathtaking views!

Rachael was stunning in her gown and Jimmy Choos'.

Lofa's family held hands during the emotional ceremony.

There was plenty of laughter as well :-)

Carla and I recently photographed Rachael + Lofa's sweet wedding at the gorgeous El Conquistador resort in Puerto Rico. We first met Rachael + Lofa at Elizabeth + George's wedding in Rhode Island last year and have been anticipating their big event ever since. Lofa is the middle linebacker of the Seattle Seahawks and we have enjoyed watching him play quite a few times. The two grew up together and have been dating since they were kids. They have such a sweet connection and I could definitely see the love. We were so excited to find out we would be capturing their wedding experience. Prior to the rehearsal we shot a quick engagement session of the two.

I love sunsets!

We recently took an amazing trip to Puerto Rico to shoot a wedding in the most gorgeous resort we have ever been to. We have photographed quite a few destination weddings but none of the locations can quite match the beauty or magical quality of El Conquistador Resort in Fajardo, PR. I just wanted to share a few sunset pics I took during our stay. Many more pics to come soon.

Sunsets can be tricky to photograph, composition and color are the keys to getting great sunset photographs. I love bright hues and punchy contrast. These shots were taken about 15 minutes apart from each other. For the first two shots I used a Nikon 16-35mm VR lens and the 3rd was taken with my 70-200 VR lens. All handheld.

Charla + Bryant | Wedding

Recently I photographed another great wedding in Atlanta. Charla + Bryant were married on a beautiful day in the city, at one of my favorite spots to shoot in ATL- Villa Christina. The day went by pretty smoothly and I enjoyed hanging out with Charla, Bryant + their family + friends. I was able to blend in and simply capture the story of the day. Charla + Bryant were also into each other throughout the day and really seemed to enjoy every moment of their wedding. Everyone seemed so happy. Made my job so much easier. I also have to give thanks to the coordinator M'Kaneghay with "Only In Your Dreams" for keeping the day simple and organized.

Meredith + Connor | Engagement

Tiffany + Barry | Wedding

Recently I photographed Tiffany + Barry's wedding in ATL. It was a warm and sunny day in the park, and a great day for love and smiles. Tiffany + Barry had a special connection with each other and an infectious laughter that spread to their family and friends throughout the day. I even caught it a few times. Barry kept his bride smiling and buzzing with joy. Every once in a while he would whisper something in her ear and she would just bust out laughing. That's what I love to see. Moments like that show the true meaning of the wedding day. It's not just the exchange of rings, but the simple way the bride responds to her groom. Simply love. Oh and I have to give props to Barry for surprising Tiffany by singing his vows to her during the ceremony. Not a dry eye in sight. Sweet moment.

During the ceremony I was so moved by this moment that I decided to switch my DSLR into HDV mode and capture the scene in motion.

Welcome to our new blog. Oh how we miss our old blog :'( but decided it was time for something new and fresh. The past couple of years we became so bogged down with work and the same old same old so we made some changes. New locale, new look, and new dreams. We recently relocated to Houston, TX. (previously in ATL.) Didn't really make a big deal of it. Sorry to anyone who may be upset that we are no longer in GA. However, we still spend a lot of time working and playing in Atlanta so you'll be seeing us ;). Still in the pursuit of the best lifestyle we can provide for our family and business. So far the midwest has it for us! If you're interested in following our progress and learning more about Sky + Carla check this blog often. We photograph some of the coolest people in the world, travel, and do interesting and uninteresting things.
