América Móvil and Nokia announced today that they will bring Nokia Messaging solution in multiple devices to customers in Latin America. América Móvil and Nokia have agreed to launch Nokia Messaging first in five countries this summer with the Nokia E63, Nokia E71 Black, Nokia E72 and Nokia E75. These devices will include the license for Nokia Messaging, which will be promoted in attractive data plans together with América Móvil.

“Messaging is ready for exponential growth in Latin America. As the leading operator in Latin America, we will be leading in this space,” said Marco Quatorze, Head of Value Added Services, América Móvil. “Collaboration with Nokia in the messaging space is one of the strategies we are pursuing to drive this growth.”

Through Nokia Messaging, América Móvil customers will be able to aggregate and manage multiple email accounts while on the move in a single application, using a very intuitive user interface. The Nokia Messaging solution is simple to set up and consumers can access up to 10 personal email accounts. Many users want to enjoy the flexibility of different accounts for each of their communities. With Nokia Messaging, people get the benefit of real time messaging and are able to read, send, forward and reply to emails, view subfolders, download and read attachments and also attach files to emails in real time using a Nokia device.

Both the famous redsn0w jailbreak and ultrasn0w unlocking tool can now support iPhone 3GS with the latest version. iPhone Dev Team has just released the tools, although they had previously decided to postpone the release until iPhone OS 3.1 is out. Check out the download instruction here.

We realize we upset some folks (e.g. existing 3GS owners) with our earlier announcement that we wanted to hold onto the 3GS iBoot-family hole until 3.1 was out. Our aim there was to get as many people as possible onboard (within reason of course) before revealing the hole, since Apple will fix it immediately. But all of that became moot when the purplera1n release was made, since it uses the same hole.

ultrasn0w unlockers — You all must remain particularly vigilant against upgrading your basebands, since doing so will kill the unlock (for most phones, there’s no going backwards in baseband version). Apple has gotten very serious with the latest baseband — they’ve removed 180 (!) commands in an effort to cut down their exposure to holes. So please always stay away from stock Apple IPSWs and instead use our tools as we release them. These tools let you update your firmware without updating your baseband.

Those installing ultrasn0w will probably also need to do a single run of Settings->General->Reset->Reset Network Settings. We’re testing various fixes for that particular glitch.

redsn0w platforms — This is the first redsn0w release that also supports linux! It’s the newest version of the bunch, so any feedback would be appreciated. But right now, redsn0w should work on OS X, Windows, and linux.

Nokia and M1 today announced a collaboration to offer a new, easy-to-use email service to M1 customers. With the Nokia Messaging service, M1 customers will be able to enjoy push email service on the go at a very affordable price.

By subscribing to any of the bundled data plans specially customized for this service, M1 customers will be the first in Singapore to be able to use Nokia Messaging on more than 20 Nokia handset models at a low cost.

M1 customers can, for example, sign up for the SunSurf Lite data plan at just 5.35 SGD per month, which is bundled with 20MB of free data, to enjoy Nokia Messaging with any of the designated Nokia handsets.

This collaboration between Nokia and M1 will allow M1 customers to have their email pushed directly to their Nokia handsets from popular email service providers such as Yahoo, Hotmail and Gmail. The service is also compatible with local Internet service providers, such as Pacific Internet, Cyberway and Qala.

“With this service, Nokia and M1 aim to respond to the growing consumer demand to be able to access their email accounts directly on the Nokia device whenever they want, wherever they want. Nokia Messaging eliminates all the factors that have been barriers to mobile email adoption: it is easy to access and set up, it is easy to use and one can have up to 10 email accounts per device per subscriber. The idea is to make mobile email and messaging available to everyone,” said Vlasta Berka, General Manager, Nokia Singapore, Malaysia & Brunei.

From the design team that created the first LG Chocolate, the new LG Chocolate will be a disruptive force in conventional mobile screens in an effort to maximize usability while inheriting the original minimalist-inspired style and iconic design of its predecessor.

“We’re returning to an all-time favourite to re-create the original experience,” said Jeremy Newing, head of marketing, LG Mobile UK. “Over 21 million LG Chocolate handsets have been sold to date, spanning across 54 countries. We believe LG Chocolate’s successor will have a tremendous impact on the market, while adding to the growth that LG has experienced during the first half of this year.”
