Existing customers who order the device during the pre-sale period from July 8–28 can qualify for myTouch 3G delivery before the national retail launch. T-Mobile today announced national retail availability of the device will begin on Aug. 5.

T-Mobile customers have the opportunity to pre-order myTouch, in limited quantities, beginning today at http://www.T-MobilemyTouch.com. myTouch will be available nationwide at T-Mobile retail stores and online beginning August 5 for $199.99 with a two-year agreement.

As for the user interface, the LG GC990 Louvre is powered by the company latest S-Class 3D UI with the 3.2-inch display screen. According to GSMArena, the new camera phone is not officially announced yet but it was displayed in a product exhibition show in Korea. Xora GPS Locator from AT&T does not require any software to be loaded on the phone, providing quick and easy deployment. Field-based employees simply power on their mobile devices and office staff can see their locations using Xora’s Web-based maps and reports. The Xora Web interface features Google Maps complete with street, satellite and hybrid views, as well as real-time traffic information. Web-based reports indicate where and when vehicles are stopped, and for how long, making it easy to identify time spent at job sites, or on breaks.

Xora GPS Locator will be available from AT&T at a monthly subscription of $21.99 per device. An appropriate AT&T voice and/or data plan, and activation fee are required.

We realize we upset some folks (e.g. existing 3GS owners) with our earlier announcement that we wanted to hold onto the 3GS iBoot-family hole until 3.1 was out. Our aim there was to get as many people as possible onboard (within reason of course) before revealing the hole, since Apple will fix it immediately. But all of that became moot when the purplera1n release was made, since it uses the same hole.

ultrasn0w unlockers — You all must remain particularly vigilant against upgrading your basebands, since doing so will kill the unlock (for most phones, there’s no going backwards in baseband version). Apple has gotten very serious with the latest baseband — they’ve removed 180 (!) commands in an effort to cut down their exposure to holes. So please always stay away from stock Apple IPSWs and instead use our tools as we release them. These tools let you update your firmware without updating your baseband.

Those installing ultrasn0w will probably also need to do a single run of Settings->General->Reset->Reset Network Settings. We’re testing various fixes for that particular glitch.

redsn0w platforms — This is the first redsn0w release that also supports linux! It’s the newest version of the bunch, so any feedback would be appreciated. But right now, redsn0w should work on OS X, Windows, and linux.

By subscribing to any of the bundled data plans specially customized for this service, M1 customers will be the first in Singapore to be able to use Nokia Messaging on more than 20 Nokia handset models at a low cost.

M1 customers can, for example, sign up for the SunSurf Lite data plan at just 5.35 SGD per month, which is bundled with 20MB of free data, to enjoy Nokia Messaging with any of the designated Nokia handsets.
