It's absurd to think of an athlete giving thanks to "Jesus/God" for making a great play or scoring a touchdown.

Here we go again, pretending to be so unified as a people. As tragic as Troy Davis' death was, it mainly proved two things. Firstly, that we are puppets to the media. The media continues to dictate the direction of where our attention goes.

This is what we see at many of our mega church facilities, which have become so prevalent throughout America. It’s called the “prosperity gospel.”

How Religion Poses Potential Problems in Relationships

Once religion enters the picture, it brings with it all sorts of potential problems. For instance, the family member who suddenly “finds the lord” may become “holier than thou” and separate themselves from the rest of the family they now consider “lost in the world.” They begin to preach and praise at every opportunity and soon other family members and friends start to eschew them whenever they approach.

Why the Billboard?

Black people are suffering from the disease of religious intoxication. Every group, with the exception of Blacks can see the contradiction of being notoriously religious on one hand, but on the other hand, helplessly dependent upon other groups for their sustenance. Blacks are the segment of society most committed to the idea of godly intervention as the primary means to affect change.

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. Proverbs 3:5. This is one of the craziest passages in the bible. When we tell a person not to lean unto their own understanding, we are encouraging that person to not utilize one of the most important organs in their body — their brain.
