Breve nostalgia

Após um ano e alguns meses, escrevo esta review meio em forma de despedida, despedida não só por causa dos últimos acontecimentos, mas uma despedida porque vejo-me forçada a tal para concretizar outras metas mais importantes que o Second Life embora nesta minha ausência não esteja posta de parte a continuidade dos projectos ligados ao Second Life, idéias e trabalhos já materializados e outros para expor a quem de direito e o meu trabalho será continuado ao seu ritmo no out-world basicamente continuando o que estou a desenvolver com a ARCI.

Não me vou por aqui a relatar a minha vida nem nada que se pareça, dizer que isto ou aquilo, apontar ou atacar, e livre-se aquele que tentar vir aqui postar ataques ou suposições sobre a minha pessoa ou as minhas amizades ou outros assuntos que aqui não são chamados nem bem vindos.

Tomar esta decisão, diga-se de passagem não foi nada fácil por inúmeros motivos dos quais um deles que mais me custa é dizer “adeus” ou mesmo “até já” dos que pela a minha segunda vida passaram e se eternizaram pela amizade, companheirismo e pontualidade.

A quando a minha entrada no Second life, nunca estava a espera de encontrar tantos amigos, mas sim procurava estudar e entender o fenómeno do mundo virtual, claro, apaixonei-me por este e desde o inicio prevaleceu esse espírito. Não me sinto arrependida de projectos que começaram e acabaram por alguma falta de base e viabilidade, mas de facto muito além da frustração que estes causavam era um todo no processo de aprendizagem. Possivelmente aquela que nos faz crescer interiormente de forma mais eficaz. Muitos avatares passaram pela minha segunda vida, outros perduraram pelo carinho que tenho a eles e outros que me afastei pontualmente por situações dispares.

Mas no fundo, verdadeiramente quero sair em paz, calma e serena deixando um sentimento de “até já”.

Lol agora a hora dos post scriptum:

Tweegy (^_^) – a “parvinha” quem me chama de “parva” e que sempre adorei. Confesso que fiquei muito atrapalhada quando todos os problemas te aconteceram e fiquei muito mal por não ter tido como te ajudar. Mas tens um lugar de destaque no meu coração.

Ophelia – Uma amiga camone lol do qual sempre considerei com elevada estima o trabalho que faz e tudo o que me partilhaste da tua vida e quando vi que procuravas em mim uma amiga, coisa que sempre prezei nesta e em outra vida, seja aqui ao meu lado seja do outro lado do oceano.

Afrodite – Estou ainda in no que me propus e assim que me chames lá estarei online para dar o meu contributo. Uma grande amiga que guardo muito carinho, um beijo muito especial.

Victoria – A minha tão querida escritora que tanto gosto de lêr, conversar e partilhar bem aja a tua simpatia e companheirismo. Não me esqueço nunca o quanto nos ajudamos uma a outra em situações difíceis e complicadas no SL, vi em ti uma pessoa única de coração puro e belo e por isso vales muito.

Electro - Um metaleiro e peras, pouco ortodoxo como um metal deve ser, mas muito certo em suas opiniões, muito me ri contigo e claro como esta não é uma despedida definitiva ainda muitas gargalhadas daremos.

Nikita – Embora te tenha conhecido pouco o pouco que conheci de ti fez-me uma imagem de uma mulher dinâmica na forma de ser, pena não termos os mesmos gostos musicais lol. Mas estou orgulhosa do que mostraste de muito bom na tua família. Vos desejo tudo de excelente e do melhor. Ahhh e um CD para breve :D

Umbigo – Desde sempre a melhor das melhores, uma amiga que classifico como muito especial, especial por ser muito consciente e muito humana na nossa relação. Bem ajas e estou extremamente orgulhosa das tuas ultimas metas conquistadas (^_^) e claro continuaremos a nos comunicar. Ps: qualquer dia vou ai dar-te uma belinha e um calduço lol

Berta – Uma das primeiras avatares que conheci na RL e descobrimos que afinal estamos as duas em sintonia em muitas perspectivas relacionadas com o mundo virtual e sobre o que andamos lá a construir. Sabes onde estou e estarei lá sempre disponível para te dar uma ajuda no que for preciso. Bem ajas amiga

Rocky e Nyne – Já sabiam de ante mão da minha decisão e de igual forma também o sabem que estarei lá sempre para a Utopia e os projectos ARCI participando de uma forma activa, dinâmica e tentando sempre buscar a inovação. O meu voluntariado com a Arci continua, no out world e claro em breve vos contactarei para falarmos mais bons amigos de longa data (praticamente que desde que iniciei o SL nos cruzamos).

BlueAngel – De todos os sorrisos e aqueles sorrisos que contagiam retribuo-te um sorriso de amizade, continua a sorrir linda. Mereces tudo de bom.

Jaycee – A minha favorita de sempre, compreendo que a RL te tenha "puxado" também e fico contente por mantermos contacto por outras via, de facto uma relação que ultrapassou o SL. Te adoro muito.

Halden – Obrigada por ajudares esta comunidade a sonhar com trabalhos sublimes e belíssimos em conteúdo e mensagem. Definitivamente tens um dom para a genialidade.

Ri Riederer – Um ex-sócio e que ainda considero um amigo acima de tudo e apesar de termos tido conflictos não guardo nenhum rancor sobre o nosso sonho.

Bankinha – Tão baixinha e tão cheia de energia J Não conheço ninguém que não tenha um especial carinho por ti, bem ajas.

Onna Oktomica – Uma avatar 5 estrelas que tudo fez ao que lhe estava as mãos para nos proporcionar a concretização de um projecto, diferente, só por isso tudo valeu a pena. Também menciono, o que não tinha falado antes, que fiquei contente quando soube um dia que a Ilha Sunbelt tinha sido construída por um grupo de portugueses (Beta Technologies).

Sensei – Desde sempre a relação mais conturbada, ao qual vimos que não estava a funcionar, tive, sinceramente tenho muita pena que não pudéssemos “viver” juntas. Não me arrependo em nada ter-te conhecido e ter partilhado tantas coisas, e claro acho que não me vou esquecer assim tão facilmente.

Sonya e Luana – Duas alminhas super simpáticas conhecemo-nos a pouco tempo, mas as boas relações e boas recordações não se mede pelo tempo mas sim pela amizade. Por tudo que fomos capazes de transmitir umas as outras um bem aja as duas, e torço para que tanto na 1st como na 2nd tudo vos brilhe pela forma espectacular como vivem tão alegremente.

Tplourenco – De longe um amigo que tem uma visão, uma visão não só do mundo virtual mas do mundo real que me levou tantas vezes pensar e repensar o que me deu muito mais solidez na projecção e materialização de projectos. Bem aja o teu companheirismo, dedicação e empenho J desde que te conheci reparei em tantas coisas que temos em comum.

TB – A este ilustre portuga, músico de gema, com extremo bom gosto musical (na minha opinião). Tinhas, tens e terás sempre a minha estima e apoio em todos os projectos que estiverem à minha mão, porque gosto e valorizo todos que tenham iniciativa em apresentar um trabalho de qualidade em que transparece o gosto que tens em tocar. Simplesmente é contagiante. Como é contagiante a empatia que criei a ti.

Angel – Um dos primeiros avatares empreendedores/sonhadores que conheci no SL no porto, onde éramos vizinhos e com quem aprendi algumas bases elementares para o conceito do Second Life. Angel que tudo o que vivemos nos sirva para crescermos e que os sonhos por aqui não acabem, acho que nunca é tarde demais.

Pelter – Foi um prazer imenso trabalhar contigo, desde já um bom profissional que canta e encanta. :) desejos de que este sucesso na RL se amplie :)

Moda e Lindens

Pois é...

Depois de andar desenfreada nas compras a gastar literalmente rios de dinheiro, em saias, vestidos, calças, botas, sapato etc, fiz uma contenção de custos e após ficar 2 semanas sem gastar um Lindenzinho em compras (nem sei como aguentei tanto) cheguei ao ponto de ruptura looool, TENHO DE IR AS COMPRAS. Isto é incrível, já nem sei se tem haver com cuidar da imagem ou se já é vicio, mas preciso mesmo de fazer mais umas compras.

Mas andar na moda também faz parte da Segunda vida (digo eu).

Já me deparei pelo metaverso quem não se preocupe com essas questões de imagem, recorrendo estes ao freebie. Mas sinceramente pouca coisa no freebie vi que me chamasse a atenção de facto é free (grátis) mas em qualidade não bate grande parte das roupas vendidas nos Shopping centers.

Entretanto ando ocupada na construção de um edifício residencial para (ainda não sei o que) lol. Sei lá, se não servir para nada do projectos onde estou, será para por a venda :D (quem sabe mais umas lindenzocas para ir as compras).

Acho que estou viciada em shopping centers.

Sobre a festa de ontem quero agradecer a contribuição de todos os colegas da ARCI que em muito ajudaram o sucesso e impacto deste evento. Acho que aqui está claramente a mensagem de que conseguimos atingir metas substanciais com um trabalho de qualidade :)

Em suma do público que esteve presente, recebi um feed back muito positivo, deixando no ar a questão "quando vai haver outra festa assim?"

Tenho recebido uns alertas e não sei até que ponto são autênticos. Transcrevo abaixo:

Desconheço que algum objecto que pelo simples facto de ser aceite e rezz tire as permissões do SL e os limpe a conta, de notar que um script requer sempre autorização do dono para tirar lindens da conta, penso que é isso de que se trata, mas mesmo assim não deixa de ser tão estranho.

As vezes fico a pensar se não é tudo fruto de uma escandaleira desmesurada, mas sendo ou não verdade, aqui fica o aviso, aviso aviso lol.

Nasa confirmou que os laptops transportados para a ISS (International Space Station) em julho foram infectados com um vírus conhecido como Gammima.AG.

O primeiro worm foi detectado na terra, em agosto de 2007 à espera para roubar login nomes populares para jogos online.

A Nasa disse que não era a primeira vez que um vírus informáticos tinha viajado para o espaço e foi investigar a forma como as máquinas foram infectadas.
A própria Nasa afirma que os portáteis são para uso exclusivo para controle nutricional dos astronautas e para o envio de e-mails para os seus familiares e amigos e por isso não compromete a missão.

Uma vez que tenha "roubado" as senhas e nomes de login o Gammima.AG vírus worm tenta mandá-los de volta para um servidor central. Centra-se um total de 10 jogos a maioria dos quais são populares no Extremo Oriente como o Maple Story, HuangYi Online e Talesweaver.

A Nasa nada mais reporta como um "incômodo" e refere medidas de prevenção após o sucedido. Tentando ainda apurar a origem da infecção dos portáteis, com uma pen que um dos astronautas terá usado.

Olá,

É com enorme satisfação e muito trabalho que anúncio a abertura hoje dia 23/08/2008 as 10:00 Am PDT (hora SL) da Praia do Guincho. A idéia deste sitio vai muito para além de recriar o espaço do Guincho tão bonito e aclamado na RL, é uma SIM totalmente dedicada as artes, divertimento e comunicação.
Para alguns que ainda não conhecem a Fortaleza do Guincho que no SL está muito longe da realidade do Hotel do Guincho(RL), temos o espaço totalmente adaptado para receber com a frequência mensal de vários artistas em simultâneo, sejam estes pintores, fotógrafos (rl/sl), escultores (Prim art), músicos etc etc.
Esta fantástica SIM também está equipada com um pavilhão de conferências, onde se é pretendido que o os debates relacionados com o Second Life™ seja o tema do dia. Vocacionado para debate livre e público.

Para já faço-vos a apresentação do que vai haver hoje :)

Teremos TB Andel (Guitarrista profissional RL agora em SL) a tocar-nos suas músicas e improvisações enquanto todos são convidados a participar no tour sobre a exposição.

Hoje a noite 2:00 PM (hora sl) vamos ter em Utopia Cascais mais um evento ao vivo hoje com a participação do nosso tão aclamado Orangelife Holmer (que dispensa apresentações) :)

Como reportar abusos

Olá, acho importante passar a palavra, pois vejo muita gente a sofrer diferentes abusos e isso tem solução directa. Basicamente é tentar bloquear a fonte, seja um script que ataca avatares ou seja verbalmente, mas atenção é preciso ter em mente que é necessário denúncias fundamentadas conforme o video demonstra, é importante dizer onde aconteceu, data e sitio, nome do abusador e o que aconteceu.

A criação de boas interfaces são cruciais para uma a boa experiência do utilizador. Imagine de que a tecnologia pode se desenvolver com conceitos materializados, quando essa interface é demonstrada através de vídeo tentando dar a entender o quão viável poderá ser uma ferramenta desta como ela nos é apresentada, dando-nos claramente a perspectiva e expectativa sobre um produto.

É aqui que encontramos ideias inovadoras que apontam a vários conceitos das interfaces, verdadeiramente possíveis , elas são extremamente impressionante. Lembre-se: Estes brinquedos podem se tornar “brinquedos” do dia a dia nos próximos anos.

Imagine, andas na rua às compras, por exemplo e levar projectado no chão o teclado + ecrã e GPS com tudo acessível quando e conforme é necessário.

O futuro está muito mais próximos do que julgamos.

Criar ou não criar uma base, eis a questão!

Criar uma base, eis a questão...

Tenho passado várias horas por dia seja em RL como em SL com a mesma pergunta. Afinal o que é criar conteúdos no SL?
Como tudo (ou quase) na vida seja ela real ou virtual, a mente humana está preparada para criar (um com mais ou menos aptidão), nascemos todos com esse dom. Para mim criar é um mero exercício mental em que todo processo intelectual é materializado, porque falo neste assunto? Se por um lado vejo muitas zonas dentro do Second Life que tem uma base fundamentada para a sua existência, um conteúdo, por outro vejo sítios lindos que sinceramente por mais voltas que tente dar não consigo perceber o sentido, fazendo-me perder o interesse e nada mais o realce de que o sítio é lindo. Não é que estes sítios não tenham uma base fundamentada, desconhecimento é o beneficio da dúvida, mas essa base pode não estar muito clara para o visitante.

Por isso tenho andado muito dedicada a procurar dar uma informação clara sobre o que estou criando, com o quê está relacionado e qual é o seu objectivo. Agora preciso é criar a fórmula correcta :) a base, senão as "colunas" não suportarão a base de um projecto.

Interesting news, actually I was really expecting this from IBM and they are giving the first steps :) Let it be light on the Second Life™ new ERA.

IBM seems to be very interested on Second Life™ and I am sure that universe it will become much more bigger and grateful. Sounds like a "refresh!"

...IBM company sources said that the adoption of a universal “avatar” and associated services could be the first step towards the creation of a truly interoperable 3D Internet.

The companies see many applications of virtual world technology including security-rich exchange of assets in and across virtual worlds. This could allow users to purchase or trade with other people in virtual worlds for digital assets including 3D models, music, and media and more. The virtual world technology could also be used for collaboration, education and training.

IBM says adopting these universal standards will help push the use of virtual worlds beyond gaming and entertainment and make them more commerce oriented. IBM sources said the company envisions online malls where users can walk around, chat with "sales avatars," view product demonstrations, and make purchases....

About Guincho Art Gallery application

Hi coolmag readers,

I'd like to spread some more info and rules about the Guincho Art Gallery as announced here .
Guincho at second life is not also a recreation of a RL fortress but also a place with it meaning, this is a huge dynamic gallery, dynamic because each month we want to change the theme within art exhibition and make it an attractive place where the SL and RL Arts meet in a perfect fusion.
Our target is to promote and reclassify the Guincho SIM and bring more avatars from all over the Grid to know better the Utopia Region (with 25 themed SIMs). For that the Guincho Gallery is creating conditions to all SL and RL artists who wants to show his work for free, no charges against the content creators.

If you are an artist and you do:

* SL Photography
* RL Photography
* Sculptures
* RL Painter
* Some kind of theme creations
* More that u can suggest

You are able to fill an application to enter on this awesome opportunity to spread your work within the Second Life. To do that, first you must agree with our conditions (Basic rules) like:

* No sex allowed
* Erotic is allowed but no explicit shown parts
* You are free to sell your work, but only with board publicity.
* No Spam (using the main chat or Im's to residents on the Guincho SIM).
* No child Avatar allowed on SIM. This is not an adult SIM, but we need to prevent some weird situations.
* You will be able to Rezz your work but nothing more, all not allowed objects will be returned without warning. If you want or need to rezz something more than your work, please contact me first.
* Any problem between residents should be reported immediately to me.

This application includes, 1 month exhibition on the gallery, free publicity on Arci site, Slcoolmag, Forum Utopia and in-world groups related to SIM. As you can see this is a promotion place where you can promote your work for free. Isn't that great?

Hugo Almeida featured in Machinima Showcase

According to latest news as we announced on June, Hugo Almeida Aka Halden Beaumont entered the Festroia (Festroia International Film Festival).

The film “O Labirinto“ by Hugo Almeida aka Halden Beaumont, had already contributed and fallen into second place of the Festroia International Film Festival (Portugal). More than a success, this time and finally the recognition of the entire community of Second Life they are on the Showcase featured as good production.

The Voice of Peltzer with this original composition reflects well the quality of all national artists in the SL.

Of course the Portuguese community are excited with the great news. So as Halden our great producer :)

Guincho - Cascais Portugal Within Second Life

Greetings, I am pleased to present to you in advance, already under construction phase, the beach of Guincho - Cascais rebuilt within Second Life. This is more a reference to Portugal, both in sites that enchants both for its landscape and historical richness.

Surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean, the beaches are more attractive to the south of Lisbon, the Alentejo, and the west coast of the Algarve, within the natural park and Costa Vicentina. The list of the beaches of praise is great but what I want to emphasize here is the Guincho, the beach Cremisna, Fortress of Guincho (Drums of the Highlands) and the beach of fresh water.

The beach of Freshwater, better known as the small beach of Guincho, is a small niche of sand between the beach and the Cresmina great beach of Guincho. Its location makes it sheltered from strong winds that sometimes occupy the beaches nearby. Another attraction is the existence of a small pool whose use ocean, not be monitored, requires all the wisdom and is even impossible in times of oil-filled. Not being served by facilities to support themselves, this small beach benefits from the proximity of terraces and restaurants that serve the nearby beaches. The Road to the Guincho, incidentally, has several high-end restaurants that take advantage of the views of the sea. Access to this small beach is through a staircase that connects the car park at the top of the cliff. This parking also serves the large beach of Guincho.

As one of the most famous and popular beaches of Cascais, is a place frequented by families, and for many young athletes, as the beach of Gincho is one of the most prominent places to practice activities such as Surfing, Windsurfing and Kitesurfing. It is a long beach of fine sand and gold. Its waters are crystal clear, sometimes cold but pleasant and with constant wave. The level of occupancy in July and August is very high.

It is a place of leisure throughout excellence with a beautiful landscape of rarity that neither the constant winds felt depart from all his visitors and tourists.

Formerly called the High Battery (Hotel of Guincho or Fortress of Guincho) one of many fortifications miles of the coast of Cascais. In short what is today the Hotel of the Guincho not always was, then see a story about the battery of High:

In 1762, in the context of the Seven Years' War, Portugal was on the verge of waging war with Spain, so D. Joseph ordered a reform of the army, led by Count of Lippe, which included "(…) increased land and maritime defense of the Kingdom.." To strengthen the defence of the Tagus bar, the Crown had built four forts at Cascais line, the de Catalazete, in Oeiras, and the batteries of Crismina, Galé and Alta, in Guincho.

Introducing planimetrias similar, the structure of these batteries was a body angle, with parapet and platform, which was built behind the aircraft and space of barracks.
With the end of the conflict, these fortifications lost their military functions, being gradually phased out, until the first decades of the nineteenth century were "signs of deep abandonment."

During the War Liberals in 1831, D. Miguel ordered that the repair works were carried out in three batteries, so that they could get back pieces of artillery and their trimmings. With the victory of the troops of D. Pedro in 1833, the strengths are again shut down and doomed to abandonment.
At the end of the nineteenth century, the batteries were "declassified as military fortifications" and sold at auction. The battery of Upper was practically destroyed, and in its place was built an hotel, the Hotel of Guincho, inaugurated in 1959, "which just took the old building."

Recovered Inventory (lost and founds)

Linden Labs Status Grid(tm) reports that they just recovered lost item during a conclusion of their related project. They really warns residents to look on "lost & founds" folder to look for lost Items and move the important ones like that object that have no perms (like no copy). If u clean the "lost & Found" without moving the items to another folder than this recovered items will be lost forever.

They even advertise that to a better look of the recovered Item the best action is to clean the cache and relog again to client loads up the "lost inventory item".

Please note that items lost for other reasons would not be affected by this project.

We are working on a patch that will put any items that become lost in future because of a missing parent folder problem into the “Lost & Found” folder automatically upon relogging.

Keiko Takamura Live show at Cascais (BES)

Following the wave of events on Cascais - Supported by Banco Espirito Santo (BES) we have the pleasure to announce that on this Friday 25/07/2008 at 3:00 PM Keiko Takamura will play a great show as she knows.

Keiko Takamura is a Californian girl doted with a great taste of music that she play with her long knowledge. She plays a great style of music under the influence of many RL arstist as "Portishead, Tori Amos, Shiina Ringo, Alanis Morrisette, No Doubt, Garbage, Hole, Poe, Beangrowers, Sneaker Pimps, Enon, Blonde Redhead, Dressy Bessy, The Cardigans, Veruca Salt, The Breeders, Bjork, Splashdown".
Keiko can do magic with her guitar and voice, tunning up always a great show to those who like to hear some cool rock. She has spend this last year, at least since i've met her, playing for all over the Grid and of course making a lot of success.

I would like to say that Keiko played at my first Multi-cultural Club named Seadream, really great times.

With this I think you wouldn't miss the chance to see her live performance.

SL Portuguese community claims the VAT

According to VAT % changes made by the Portuguese government from 21% to 20%, makes come Portuguese claim their different charge on the Second life exchange market. The changes happens on 1st July when the government announces the changes. According to some Portuguese blogs and residents, they are submitting tickets issue to refund the difference - 1%, some cents in premium account chargers but significant dollars when fee (tier) charges.

We will track this issue and we will let you know more when Linden Labs(tm) changes and assume some fault, while the Portuguese still waiting for an Linden Labs upgrade charges on VAT according to Portuguese and EU law.

Portugal - VAT rate reduction
The Portuguese government has announced that the standard VAT rate is to be reduced from 21 percent to 20 percent in continental Portugal, and from 15 percent to 14 percent in Madeira, effective July 1, 2008.

How to make SL script in the easiest way - Scratch

Second life Blog™ has announced a new feature available for Windows and Mac users. The program is so simple as an drag and drop option to copy the script into Second Life™.
We of the SlCoolMag had tested the program and it's really cool for those who don't understand how script works and even for those who programs (can access pre-made scripts).

What is Scratch for Second Life (S4SL)?
S4SL is a new easy way to add behaviors and interactivity to your objects in Second Life. S4SL is based on Scratch, a graphical programming language that lets you construct programs by snapping together graphical blocks. With S4SL, you can snap together a few blocks to make your SL pet interact with you using chat commands, make your sculpture change size and color, or make your house respond to your presence.
