Exhausted

The past couple of months have been exhausting. Even so, they have been enjoyable. I’d just like for work to calm down just a bit. Plus it would be nice if I felt like I had a little energy left after getting home…then maybe I’d be able to do something productive instead of just being a lump on the couch.

This weekend has thankfully been another relaxing one. I had nothing planned other than Tango lessons on Saturday (which were great….i had a few things ‘click’ that had been causing problems before). The relaxation is most welcom…most certainly since starting tomorrow my work life will once again be on the hectic side.

Exhaustion

As much as I enjoy my job, I am really wanting a nice break. I am just getting so worn down by it lately. I’m typically in the office by 7:30 or 8am and typically leave about 5:45pm. I can’t remember the last time I actually had lunch away from my desk. I keep telling myself that things will settle down after November…the deadline date for the campus-wide project I’m a team member of.

November just seems so far away.

This weekend has turned out to be a relaxing one…for which I am very thankful. Aside from dance lessons yesterday, and a trip to a bookstore I spent my weekend relaxing at home. I feel relaxed enough to face another week at work. heh.

A small group of us have finally managed to put a small group together for some semi-private tango lessons. There used to be a weekly same-sex tango class, but sadly that has turned into a semi-bi-weekly workshop. It’s nice to have a progressive weekly lesson to keep building on some foundations…especially when the dance is still relatively new to the dancers.

Aside from the lesson, I’m looking forward to not doing a whole lot this weekend. Between what looks to be cold, grayish weather outside and the fact that I had some major allergies this past week I’m all about staying inside where it is nice and warm and simply chilling.

Last night’s outing to Hotel Biron and Zuni Cafe was a great time. Hotel Biron is a little back-alley wine bar, which seems to be a well kept secret. There were very few other patrons while we were there. Most likely due to the somewhat hidden location…it seems to be located in an alley and has a very non-descript entrance. There may not have been many patrons, but the wine list was certainly acceptable.

Zuni Cafe was fantastic. Between the oysters and the brick-oven roasted chicken it seemed like a little slice of heaven. Add in some more great wine, some fantastic company and we ended up with a smashing success to the night.

Celebrate

This weekend we are celebrating Mike’s birthday. Yesterday was his actual birthday, but we are going to dinner with friends tonight. Finally going to give Zuni a try. For years we have kept telling outselves that we had to give the place a try. I finally made reservations…so tonight 5 of us will be putting the restaurant to the test. Most likely we will start the evening at Cav or Hotel Biron for a sampling of wine and cheese, considering our reservation at Zuni isn’t until 8:45.

Tomorrow we are considering heading over to Stern Grove to enjoy a little latin/tango music.

Fair

Today was the annual Up Your Alley street fair in SOMA. Mike and I wandered around a bit looking at the booths and other attendees, had a horrible lunch from one of the food vendors and then left the fair for our trip home…making a required stop at Mr. S. Now it’s time for some relaxation before another hectic week begins.

My days are feeling so draining lately. By the time I get home I don’t seem to have the energy to do anything. It’s actually very depressing…and a horrible downward spiral.

On the bright side, I’m certainly not bored at work!

Even so, it would be nice to have an hour or two more in the day to focus on ‘me’.
