Are you like me around the holidays? You start out excited and then lose motivation? When decorating takes hours upon hours – the excitement turns into overwhelm. Yep, I’m right there with you. I’m happy to say, I’ve found the solution to make easy Christmas decor with King of Christmas. 

I was thrilled when King of Christmas asked me to partner with them again this year.

As I perused their website, I was thinking about something simple and easy. Because, as we know… we are busy people!

King Noble Fir Christmas Tree

Let’s start with the tree I shared last year, the King Noble Fir Christmas Tree setup was a breeze.  You can read more about it here. 

Christmas Mantel Decor Inside One Box

Since the tree was a simple setup, I thought I’d see if the mantel ensemble was just as easy. I ordered this set.

The mantel pieces come in a box with a handle, which is nice for storage and transporting from storage to setup area. 

The items were neatly packed and flattened. I knew this would require a little fluffing, but looked very manageable.

Unbox and Fluff: Quick and Easy setup

With a little fluffing, everything was ready to display. All of the pieces are pre-lit, so there wasn’t any messy lights to wrap and deal with. Phew!

I really enjoyed the fact that I could drape the limbs with ease on the garland. I didn’t feel like I was fighting with it to take shape – I pushed down in a few areas and it stayed put. Now the garland sits beautifully on the mantel.

The tree limbs were facing upward and very strong to move down into place. They were very sturdy and didn’t feel flimsy at all. I fluffed the limbs and in no time, they were beautiful and ready to display.

The tree comes with burlap wrapped around the base, but could be placed in a ceramic pot or basket to coordinate with a specific theme or interior.

The wreath is a statement piece lush and full of greenery. I decided to add a little color by adding a bow, bells, some berries, and flowers for a natural look. What I love about this wreath – it can be used outdoors as well. Wouldn’t this be adorable on a front door? The wreath is battery powered, so hanging it from the front door would be charming and easy too. The battery pack has a timer as well, so you don’t have to mess with a remote. It lights up effortlessly when set.

Let it Glow: Sit and Enjoy Easy Christmas Decor

This set adds quick and beautiful decor, that actually looks good and tells a sweet little story as everything goes together nicely.

I really like the King Noble Fir because of the life like limbs and natural drape of the limbs. The lights are placed meticulously on all of the pieces and give a beautiful evening glow. I especially enjoy the fact that the trees and garland come with a battery pack if an electrical outlet is not available.The battery packs have a timer as well as an on and off switch.

I’ve always loved King of Christmas trees and when they contacted me to try one of their trees, I jumped at the opportunity. There are so many reasons why I love these trees, and being able to have one in my home elevates my Christmas decor and space.

Choosing a Tree

I knew what I wanted before I arrived on the King of Christmas website, and was wondering if they would even offer what I envisioned. I scrolled through the site and there it was. This tree was exactly what I was looking for. I wasn’t sure, however, what size to choose. Luckily it was super easy because they have a size guide which I followed.

I have 9’ ceilings and the recommendation on the King of Christmas website was a 7’ tree. Visually I think it is the perfect height. It’s not too wide either. I feel like it fits in our sitting room perfectly, not overtaking the space, but yet still being the star and focal point of the room. 

This tree caught my eye because of the minimalistic quality it has. The tree is beautiful by itself – it truly doesn’t need ornaments. I also wanted a pre-lit tree for ease of setup – this one comes with 500 warm white Led lights. (That‘s a lot of lights).

If you are looking for a tree and don’t have a particular one in mind, there are so many great options. There are trees that are flocked, thin, full, minimalistic, different lighting options, firs, pine trees… and the list goes on. King of Christmas also offers a quiz where you answer questions about the perfect tree for your space. After taking the quiz, you will have several choices, which narrows down your Christmas decorating vision.

Delivery Day

My tree arrived quickly and I was excited to open up the box right away. Inside the box was 3 sections of the tree, a stand, gloves, remote, storage bag, and instructions for easy setup.

Do you want to know the best part about the setup? I did it myself. Me… standing at 5’3″! Yep, and it took me a total of 7 minutes to set up. Of course fluffing and decorating takes time, but 7 minutes all by myself is pretty incredible. Like I said, I think this tree could be beautiful on its own without ornaments or decoration.

I enjoy looking at it because it does look life-like and I didn’t have to go out into the forest to cut it down.

Decorating the Tree

Decorating with a King of Christmas tree is easy. Because of the layout of branches, I decided to decorate it very organic and clean. I wanted a minimalistic and vintage look. The open space between branches allows ornaments to sing and be showcased. For my ornaments this year I chose dried oranges, vintage looking candle lights, and tied ribbon. That’s it. Simple. Beautiful. 

I put the tree in the window so those that drive by may enjoy it too. The lights give the tree a magical glow through the window. With 7 different light options for the tree, I can pick a different mode every day of the week.

I’m loving number 2. Sequential – it’s almost as though the lights are softly dancing. So pretty! It’s fun to play around with the lighting options as they are all so unique and different from one another.

Timeless Decor

Each year I decide to invest in one splurge item. When I plan ahead, I am able to find sales as early as July. It’s very important to me to make sure the purchase will be able to stand the test of time and be used from years to come. Looking for quality over quantity is important.

One of My Favorite Christmas Finds

This Norfolk Garland is one of my favorite Christmas Finds. It brought my fireplace mantel to a whole new level. I saw it go on sale and jumped at the opportunity. By the end of the day, they were sold out. I called my store to see if they had more and was told they sold out in a day and I was lucky to get them. (hint, hint).

How did I get this look? By using four 5 foot garlands and swooping them over each other. They were very easy to work with and have such a beautiful drape to them. This gives such a natural appearance and the branches fall nicely to make this garland look life-like.

I used this garland for my mantel, but imagine using it over a bed, a railing (15’option), draping over a window, on a bookshelf, for the table and even over your favorite artwork. The possibilities are endless.

Wallpaper with Color

Did you know wallpaper is making a huge comeback? From what I can tell, it is going to stay for quite some time. Wallpaper can elevate a space to feel intentionally designed and stylish while bringing in an added layer of texture and color. Not to mention a way for your creativity to shine through in a room. I believe a classic pattern will pass the test of time and live on into the future. In the photo above you see some designs I’ve created for your home that bring in a color palette that is on trend while staying true to being classic and timeless.

Decorate by Layering in Color with Pillows

Pillows can be added to bring in the trending colors. Think of mixing patterns and textures to create a look that is your own. Here we show a mix of colors and patterns. See how they all work together with a similar color palette.

I won’t dive into too many details because I truly think it’s a show that needs watching to appreciate how much artistry, skill, and love goes into making the world’s best pizza.

The Chef of Pizzeria Bianco

Chris Bianco is the owner/chef and founder of Pizzeria Bianco. Sitting in his restaurant and biting into his pizza is like experiencing his soul. The pizza is as good as the show claims it to be. Let me tell you about my experience firsthand.

Location

After church one morning, we decided to experience Pizzeria Bianco. Wondering if it was the best in the world as many claim – we were intrigued to see for ourselves. There are two locations in Arizona, one at 20th street and Camelback and the other located downtown Phoenix. We decided to visit the downtown Phoenix location in the heart of Phoenix in Heritage Square. The pizzeria is adjacent to the Children’s Museum and inside Heritage Square and Science Park. It is quite a unique area.

This pizzeria is quaint and charming, which may explain the wait time of two hours. My family wanted to bail, but I encouraged them the wait would be worth it.

While you wait, there is plenty to do. An old house next door houses a bar to soften the waiting time.

The interior is inviting for conversation and perfect for a drink and relaxation.

A little coffee shop is also across the street. Don’t go too far – once your table is ready, you have 5 minutes to claim your table.

Parking wasn’t an issue. There is valet parking, but we opted to park in the Heritage Square Garage and get our ticket validated for a discounted rate.

Inside Pizzeria Bianco

Once inside, we were seated at the bar. Sitting at the bar was a fun experience because we got to talk with the bartender. He informed us that weekdays the wait is typically 2 hours, and weekends can be upwards of four hours.

The interior is like stepping into an Italian street corner cafe.

With the pies cooking non stop in the wood-fired oven, you feel as if you are part of the history where the story of Chris and his pizzas continue to spark a sense of joy.

I literally witnessed others look over the pizza as though they received a gift that deserved savoring with every bite.

The Menu

You may be curious to know the menu options. They are limited, but chosen wisely. Chris Bianco knows what will taste the best, and I would say trust him. We ordered the Wiseguy – wood-roasted onion, house smoked mozzarella and fennel sausage.

I thought, how can I have pizza without red sauce? It seemed weird to me, so we ordered a side of red sauce. The flavors were amazingly pleasing – actually I have never tasted infused flavor this good on pizza before. The red sauce was definitely not needed therefore, trust the chef.

The mozzarella is fresh and hand made in-house. Chris also enjoys sourcing ingredients from local farmers.

This little restaurant has been visited and recognized by chefs and celebrities from all over the world. From magazine articles touting the best pizza in America and awards and recognitions, this little gem is one you must fit in to experience yourself.

The price is in line with what you would expect to receive for the best artisinal pizza experience. Prices range from $8 for a salad to $26 for a pizza. You can view the menu here.

If you are visiting Phoenix, you will enjoy this experience. I hope you will appreciate and savor every mouthwatering bite as much as I did. I believe it is the best pizza in Phoenix, Arizona.

Someday I want to visit again with friends and each order a pizza to pass and share. I want to try them all.

Keep it Simple

I like to keep things simple while adding a little personality to a table. For the centerpiece, I added yellow flowers to sweet little glass bud vases.

I love these because they are the perfect height for a table. Having a conversation is nicer without having to bob around a large floral centerpiece.

I like to add candlelight with simple tea lights and glass candle holders. Flanking the table are two candle hurricanes that I collected years ago. Overhead lighting also gives a glow that feels restaurant worthy.

To mimic the natural wicker on the candle hurricanes, I used braided seagrass chargers to give some texture and a natural element.

The white dishes are perfect for any food dish. I chose salad and dinner plates as the dinner was simply a salad and entree.

Be Creative and Add a Personal Touch

I didn’t have a tablecloth to use on the table, so I went a different route. I think I like it better this way too. A white table runner laid across the middle of the table, and to add color and softness, two yards of fabric were placed at a diagonal. This fabric is significant because it is my design and is currently for sale in my Spoonflower shop.

Who needs a tablecloth when layering fabrics can add a creative touch? It’s an inexpensive way to add fun personality to a tablescape.

Do you have a love for stripes as much as I do? I had to use my yellow striped napkins, but there was a dilemma. I needed six napkins and only had four. No fear, I had two solid light blue napkins that were just the right color combination and added a nice touch to the head of the table.

Incorporate Your Favorite Color Palette

This color palette lent for a sweet spring surprise.

Adding the sunset sky was a delight and made for a perfect outdoor dinner. No wind, just a quiet stillness. Perfection!

Every year the Arizona desert sparkles with beautiful blooms. I’m talking in the mountains, on the side of the road… literally everywhere! I enjoy taking the time to appreciate them. This year I decided to get in them and pick them. The flowers are at their peak for a short moment and then it seems with a blink of an eye they are gone. We captured the moment so I can look at these beautiful blooms all year round and remind myself of the spring beauty and that beauty is all around if we open our eyes to see it.

You may say, “Angie, what do you mean by opening our eyes to see it”? I mean taking a breath and a moment to sit in it and be still. To listen to the birds singing their happy song, watch the bees seek nectar and pollen, hummingbirds zip overhead, butterflies with their paper wings soaring in the breeze, and allow our eyes to focus on this beautiful place we live in.

I am guilty of not slowing down and taking a breath and am trying to do a better job of it myself. As a matter of fact, I have wanted to take photos in the sea of yellow for over 7 years now. I finally did it. In the past, the thought was, I will do it before they stop blooming… 7 years, and, that time never came. This year was the year to do the thing I’ve been wanting to do for years. It was magical and fun. 

Slowing down reminds me to remember one word. Every year I pick one word to focus on. This year my word is gratitude. I believe the word gratitude is showing me to be grateful for all things big and small. But to also capture moments so I can remember them and the goodness that comes from a grateful heart and mindset. 

So, this may represent silly photos of myself to you, but it signifies the joy I felt in my heart. It only took me seven years to get outside and capture this moment. I breathed in the fresh air while laughing and cherishing the desert blooms. I was so happy to capture this joy in a photo.

I’ve also been writing in a five-year: one-line-a-day journal that a good friend recommended. I don’t write much, just a snippet of the day. It helps me to slow down and reflect. I hope in the five years when this journal is complete – I will remember this moment like it was yesterday.

Retractable Extension Cord Reel

We have a retractable extension cord in our garage and it is the best. Ours is mounted to the ceiling. I couldn’t imagine a garage without this. The 50 foot cord extends to the perfect length. We’ve plugged our air compressor, shop vac, tools, etc… into this extension cord.

Compact and Impact Drill Set

As you know we really love Ryobi Tools around here. This drill set has been used for so many of our projects. We couldn’t have done our laundry room redo without these.

Kreg Jig

We don’t know what we would do without our Kreg Jig. We own this little set and it serves us well. Think of creating a shelving unit or cabinets with perfect 90 degree edges and corners.

We have one of these rolling pins and love it. The pattern is different, but it is always so beautiful to look at when rolling out cinnamon rolls for Christmas morning.

This candle fills the house with a beautiful scent. My favorite scent is oatmeal cookie. The house smells like cookies are in the oven.

2pc Stoneware Pepper Cellar Cream/Black – Hearth & Hand with Magnolia

It is super handy to have these sitting next to the stovetop. It seems every recipe calls for salt and pepper, right? We particularly like that we can get a teaspoon quickly. Note: This picture is of the pepper cellar, there is also a salt cellar that can be purchased as well.

Ooni Pizza Oven

This is an expensive one, but if you want to give a gift for someone that loves a good pizza, this is the gift. We really enjoy our Ooni and the pizza tastes

I just purchased these battery operated candles. The picture doesn’t do them justice, but I am so happy with them. They give a realistic glow of true burning candles. (The big craze on Instagram right now). These would make great gifts.

So… confession, I don’t own these items below. BUT as I was curating this list I was reminded of these awesome gifts and thought how much charcuterie boards are always a hit at the party. How fun would it be to capture it all and have instant photos to share with your guests?

If you haven’t been to the north shorelines of Lake Michigan, I hope you plan a getaway to see this beautiful place someday.

The Inn at Bay Harbor, Autograph Collection

Our journey began by flying from Phoenix to Detroit. We rented a car and headed four hours northwest to a town located right on Lake Michigan called Petoskey in the Bay Harbor area. We stayed at the beautiful Inn at Bay Harbor, Autograph Collection. I must tell you – it was such a picturesque spot located along the shoreline of Bay Harbor. I instantly knew I was going to love this place.

Down a hill behind trees sits a beautiful Inn surrounded by lush grass and manicured flowers. The Inn is like a majestic coastal cottage with details that do not go unnoticed.

Entering the Inn you will find a gorgeous crystal chandelier. I was told there are only 2 in the world.

The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and beautifully appointed with private patios overlooking the water.

This was the view from our patio.

The walking path is situated behind the Inn right next to the water and spans the entire property.

I enjoyed walking the path and seeing all of the activities and games being played. You can see Joe and my son playing a very competitive game of corn hole.

We received a sweet treat and a note on our nightstand. Kilwin’s chocolate-covered cherries were in the box. (This area of Michigan is known for its cherry trees.)

Bicycle rentals are available at The Inn at Bay Harbor and we took advantage of getting on the bikes, exploring, and enjoying the views. This photo gives you an idea of how blue the water actually is.

I enjoyed watching my parents at sunset sit on the porch and experience the beauty of the water.

This was a family trip with my parents and a wonderful gift to spend time with some very close friends (family) who live there.

Independence Day

We were able to celebrate Independence Day – July 4th in style. There was a firework show and we had an incredible view from our balcony. It was an amazing show and such a wonderful treat to be a guest here.

The celebrations began.
